OH, NO...

If hubby sees this Braves DVC Member events that are mentioned in the new Clubhouse and online I'm in trouble! :earboy2:

Cause we have NO EXTRA POINTS!

I wonder if you can book this event, but stay at a value??? Any guesses?

And I wonder if he could take his Dad who is not a DVC member?

I'm pretty sure he'd be able to take his dad. As long as you or your husband (since you are the member's) make the arrangements, I am sure he'll be able to take dad. Don't see why they wouldn't let you stay at a value resort w/cash ressies. Sounds reasonable that you could.

I just read the newsletter and saw the same thing! UGH! Looks like a LOT of fun. I'd like to do it when the boys get just a bit older. OMG...my nephews (big Braves fans) would FREAK if we could take them!

Hubby took his Dad last year to see the Braves spring training and they had a ball.

But, hubby and I will be there next month, then again in April for the girls' spring break.

Maybe they can go for two nights?

Hey Katie! How was your holidays?

DH and I are going down March 22-29 for spring training games. Since we had to book rooms, etc. before the schedules came out, we will only see one game at Cracker Jack Stadium and will miss both member events!! Darn, I wish I could just get lucky and hit a date for once. I don't know how many times Disney has announced special get-togethers for members, but we've already got room and airfare already booked and have to miss it by a day or two. Maybe next year!

We decided we'd drive to Tampa to try to see a Yankees game (afternoon) and a Blue Jays game (evening). Also catch a Houston game in Kissimmee. And another one in Lakeland, I think. We're also going to golf a few times. We'll also spend a couple of nights at the Celebration resort. Looking forward to that.

I hope all of you who are able to attend the member get-together at the stadium have a great time and report back to those of us who weren't able to attend.

LOL, dh read this and already had me check to see what ds's (10) school schedule looks like on the 6th!

What are the events are do we qualify as members since we only have temporary cards and don't have points until 6/1?

Thanks!

I am going to be there during the 6th with my Dad, Mom and 5 yo niece. We were going to send Dad to a game while the girls did the princess tea. I think he would love this! Dad loves baseball and will talk to anyone! Anyone else going solo? I can hook you up with my Dad. Super nice guy and loves kids!

I'm beyond disappointed we can't make this. For 4 of us the air is about $650 (I've checked) so the whole week-end would run us $1,000 at a minimum. Just not in my budget. I'm sure you don't have to stay in a DVC on points, just book the game with them.

We also go at Easter and didn't plan to this year and low and belhold the Mets play there Easter Saturday also.

I can't win for losing this year.

I can relate. If we knew about this sooner, I would've gone then instead of in April. My dad would've loved this!

Ya, this is pretty short notice, especially in DVC time. :earboy2:

Hubby would have liked to go, but with both our February and April trip it is just too much. I did hear him call his Dad, though. :chat:

I would be curious to see what DVC availability there was for these games cause this is spring break time!

I mentioned to hubby he could probably get Sports with an AP rate, but this is too late really to plan.

Part of the problem with spring training is that the DVC doesn't get much more notices then the rest of us what the SpringTraining schedule is going to be. As far as I can tell it was just released in the past couple of weeks. Makes it really hard to plan in advance to get good airfares if you want to see certain teams. I really wish these clubs could plan in advance. :(

I am so excited about this. I saw the spring training schedule earlier and saw that our local team (the St. Louis Cardinals) were playing at WDW on March 20th, during our trip. So I was all ready to purchase tickets for the game when they go on sale tomorrow but now there is this. Super exciting, I called this evening and left a message.

I don't know about switching ressies now but I did it just a few weeks ago. We were originally scheduled at OKW for March 12-18th, typical Yankees vs. Braves game week. Low and behold the spring training schedule comes out in early-mid Dec. and they moved the dang game to the week before. Luckily I hadn't booked anything but the room. Called MS and switched to the week before no problem. So now we will be there March 5th-13th to see those Yanks.

Call and check. It wouldn't hurt. There was availability just a few weeks ago at OKW. We've got a 1 bdrm reserved.

I left a message last night and just got the call from MS to book my ticket. So Dad is all booked for Sunday March 6th.

They will be Fed-Ex out the package and the wristband to get in sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. :cool1:

Just got the call, we are all signed up for the game on the 20th. Hopefully we are not the only Cardinal fans there.

I would be really intersted in a report when those of you that go get back. Thanks in advance.
