Bounceback vent!

We just got back from a trip at POP from 8/20-8/30. There was no flyer in our room but we asked multiple times at Pop and other resorts about Bounceback. Everyone said it was not available. Then I come home, read the DIS and find out that it was available. The same thing happened last year! Why can't Disney educate all the CMs. It is so frustrating!

Same thing happened to us last year - asked at the POP desk and was told "have no clue what you're talking about". So, no FD trip for me and DD this year. However, we are going at Christmas (but I don't think you can get a bounceback offer then).

I don't blame you for being frustrated - that would really tick me off, since you asked the CMs and were told there was nothing!

Is there a number that we can call to ask about bouncebacks while we're on property, if there is no flyer in the room?

I believe they may only have the Bounceback flyers at certain resorts. That was our experience in 2006.

We used to always stay at POR, well we decided to splurge for our Nov 2006 trip and stayed at Poly. We came home to find that they had the Bounceback flyers at POR but not Poly. So, I spent THOUSANDS more on our trip and didn't get the offer .

We ended up buying into DVC so no more bounceback offers for us now.

We were at POP 8/20-8/26 and there was a bounceback flyer in our room on the evening of 8/24. Sorry, if I'd known you could have had ours. Unfortunately DH doesn't get WDW, and it's been the subject of some mighty testy times in our marriage. The current plan is DD and I go once every OTHER year, and DH doesn't comment. Too bad, because DD and I would LOVE to go again on bounceback and it'd save money, but I know better than to create that kind of stress! There's no way we could use the BB offer- and you would have loved it!

This is correct. Most resorts will have the offer at one time or another but I don't know of a time when all resorts have had the Bounceback offer at the same time.

When we went last year, we got a bounceback at the Poly. But we don't use it, since hubby is a CM and we get better deals that way. But Poly has them sometimes.

BTW the 2009 Free Dining BB offer is available to WDW resort guests prior to checkout until it expires on October 24,2008 - and sometime after that another BB will probably be offered, but it won't include Free Dining.

Although anyone staying at any Disney resort (including DVC) is eligible, they don't put flyers in the rooms at all resorts. They only target specific resorts.

You don't need to have the flyer to make the booking.

When we started out trip we had a flier in our room (CR) for a bounceback of up to 40% off for trips in Oct. - Dec. By the end of the trip we had the bounceback flier for the free dining next year. We didn't jump on it because 1) we're thinking of skipping DW next year (not sure if I can make it a whole year!!) and 2) we know they'll end up offering it to everyone next year anyway so if we change our minds we'll still be able to get it.

The last 2 trips I received a paper inside the folder they give you at the front desk while checking in. The bounce back offer is shaped like a pocket watch with a picture of the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. It says PICK A DATE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE! and has all the months around the sides. The one I received August 13 at Caribbean Beach had dates Aug 10- Sept 27, Oct 19-Nov 1, Nov 9-15, Nov 30- Dec 13. The one I got at Poly or/and Saratoga Springs late Jan 08 had dates Jan 6-Feb 2, Feb 24- March 1, March 30-April 12,Aug 10- Sept 27.

What is the bounceback offer?

Bounceback is an offer that Disney does from time to time.
Basically if you book your next vacation while still at Disney you can get a discounted rate.

I had heard this last year. Last year, we did get an offer and brough t it to the front desk for clarification. They really didn't know about it. They also didn't know anything about rates for the upcoming year. This was in September, when 2008 rates had already been released.

It's just one more case where I knew more than the CM's who SHOULD know this info. I'm sorry, but check-in CM's should know the room rates for their resort.

ANyhow, they said it was only the Mousekeepers who knew about the bouncebacks offers. So next time that may be one possibility.

Okay, so I understand what the Bounceback offer is, but I was wondering say if I'm lucky enough to book it and then something comes up, can I cancel or will I lose my deposit? Or do you have to pay in full when you book. I'm confused on the details??

They probably weren't offering it in Value Resorts figuring they have not problem filling those up where as the Mod's are probably a bit harder to fill.

Which is totally not fair if they offer it, it should be offered at all resorts.
