I can totally relate, though my problem is with senior management instead of co-workers. Sometimes you just have to wonder why some people are so nasty for no reason. It stinks knowing that I left a job I liked to take this one, and now it's not at all what I hoped it would be. I have been praying about it, and telling God my honest feelings. The part I really struggle with is hearing His will. It's so easy to get it confused with our own or to just not hear anything at all. I've had a rough employment history (several employers have been abusive--one boss since got fired), and I'm just flat out tired of all the drama. I just want to work somewhere that most people are friendly and everyone works hard without being hurtful to others. There is an opening at the company my dad works for, and it would be wonderful if that would work out. I will pray about it, and we'll see where that leads.

Co-workers and bosses can make and break jobs. I love subbing at the school I am at because (most of) the people there are so nice!

Let us know what happens and I'll be praying for you. :cheer2:

Hey everybody!

A story...I have a buddy from my current job who was called up from Inactive Reserves to go to Iraq. He is an amazing inspiration to me...all his e-mails are very positive and even when I am having a rough time at work he makes me feel so much better. He is stationed only a couple of miles from the ancient site of Babylon...he says he is less than 10 miles from where Daniel was buried. He draws strength from knowing he is so close to where a great man of God lived and did amazing works for Him.

Anyway, I was hoping some of you could pray for his safety. His area is not very hot, but there have been attacks. Like all the guys over there, he needs our covering of prayer...and I know 'cause I've been in those shoes. His name is Jonathan.

God bless and have a great day!

Beautiful message 2gether! I will add Jonathan to my prayer list. We are blessed to have so many fine men and women to serve and protect our country. May God also strengthen his family.

Good morning guys and gals, just wanted to pop in and say Hi. I was saved a few weeks ago, and just wanted to add my name to the list!

Jonathan is being lifted up in prayer right now. That's really neat that he is so close to where so many things happened in Biblical times. May the Lord protect and shield him.

captJack88, welcome to the family! Congratulations!

I was at a military promotion ceremony for my sister's friend's dad. Got that, lol. He was being promoted from Major to Lt. Colonel, and I had never realized just how unsecular the military was. They opened the ceremony in prayer, and was really moving. I guess that old saying is true, there are no atheists in foxholes.

Prayers to Jonathen.

I also need some prayers for my cousin who recently was stationed in N. Korea. Thankfully no attacks, but I believe he has gotten this hereditary disease that his father had that causes internal bleeding. He is doing fine as far as I know. Just send your prayers out to him.

captjack88, congratulations! The hardest thing I have ever done in my life was to turn away from what I knew was wrong, and accept the grace and love of Jesus Christ, at the same time, it was the best thing I have ever done.

The joy that He brings to me everyday is so awesome, it makes me wonder why other people would not want to receive the same joy :(

Hi all!

Welcome to the new people on this thread!

I have been off visiting family all week, so haven't been around. I am excited to see this thread busy again!

Heard a great sermon on Sunday about being Apathetic Christians. Just hanging out in neutral, not growing, not doing much. Really made me think.....I really need to work on my relationship with Him!

Have a great day!

Hey all, my cousin Shane is able to eat again for the first time in 2 weeks. He seems to be better, and will be back up and around within the next week. :cool1: Hope everyone is doing well. :sunny:

Correction, it was South Korea.

Yeah! My heart leaps when I hear of someone becoming saved. Isn't it comforting to know that your name now resides in the book of life?

I must have missed your post, congrats. :sunny: :goodvibes :cool1: :goodvibes :sunny:

145 pages is difficult to read through, so I'm just saying hi! I've been a Christian since I was 13 (Baptist) and glad to read the closeness in this thread between others!

Went to a Baptist college in Arkansas and then came home and got really into Children's Ministry - so I teach Sunday School to 4th and 5th grade girls. 7 years later, it's time to work on ME and MY faith and fellowship for a bit. There's only so much you can learn from 11 year olds ;) But I've had a blast.

Hey all. Was wondering how many of you have read the "Case For . . ." books by Lee Strobel. I loved the Case for Christ, and right now am reading the Case for Faith. How many others of these has he written?

How have I missed this thread??!! Hi everyone! Mind if I join you? I'm a Christian mom of 6 kids and married 18 yr.s to my wonderful DH.

I just wanted to share a little story with you. I visit with the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed once every 2 months (I try to go once a month but can't always get there). I met a soldier recently who was severely injured in Iraq. Double amputee and lost his vision in one eye. His name is Brian.

I sat and talked with him for almost 4 hours at one visit and he amazed me. He wasn't a believer prior to his injuries. He told me that he prayed for the first time lying on the battle field - and what he felt was so beautiful to him, that he now can't believe the way he used to be. :goodvibes

He's happier now after his injuries than when he was healthy and whole.

He goes into the rooms of other soldiers and spends time praying with them & their families. He helped another soldier on the floor through his injuries and they are now best friends - in fact, the other soldier's wife is having their first baby in Sept. and Brian will be the baby's Godfather. :)

I just wanted to share that with all of you. Brian is such an inspiration to me and my family (my kids love talking with him when I call to talk to him).

Thanks for letting me share - and you will be seeing more of me on this thread.

I just came across the section on why there is evil and pain in the world, and why the innocents are always hurt. In the Case for Faith I mean. One of the people he interviewed stated that Pain does two things. It brings people closer to God, and turns them away. The ones that are brought into Body are the ones that are hurt, and the ones turned away are the ones in that little bubble of security. He likes to think of pain as a spiritual fire for tempering our soul when time comes for eternity. Some of the greatest spiritual enlightenings in the Lord you could say come from stuff like this. I mean look at Peter? when he wrote Revelations in the island jail of Patmos.

He mentioned a little cartoon he had seen. This one guy stated, why does God allow pain and suffering and he would ask this at heaven. The other said, I am afraid he will ask me that.

Welcome to all the new visitors!
Glad you found us...

transparant, I love that you shared about Brian!
Just goes to show that it's never about us,
it's always about Jesus and His supernatural work in/through
our meager bodies!
I pray for Brian and all of our wounded veterans,
as well as those defending our freedom throughout the world.

Just out of curiosity - have any of you read any books by Karen Kingsbury? I just finished the series about the Baxter Family (Gary Smally helped in writing this particular book series) and they are wonderful!!!

I think all of you will love them!

Karen Kingsbury is my very favorite author!!
I love the Baxter series, as well as all her other books. One Tuesday Morning and Beyond Tuesday Morning were about 9/11 and were very very good also. All her books are great. I have read them all and am now on the waiting list for her newest ones!

I also enjoy Francine Rivers, Lori Wick, Karen Ball, and especially Lynn Austin.
Just finished "All She Ever Wanted" by Lynn Austin, it was great.
