Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

Bumping this thread because I laid eyes on Lakeshore Lodge myself for the first time!

Views from “Reunion Station” down at Geyser Point.

Non-zoomed in, from the recreation boat dock there.

Zoomed in. You can see the huge building and the A frames clearly, but it also doesn’t rise too high over the tallest trees.

Same spot but turning north towards the passenger boat dock and BLT. Now that’s noticeable!

Overall I think they did a good job of it being not overly imposing from the WL side. It doesn’t seem as massive as it definitely is. Can’t speak to the Fort side though 😅

Saw it from many different angles without intending too, the BLT walkway, from FW because we went to hoop de doo, etc.

It definitely is um noticeable wherever we were it seemed to pop up 🤣🤣 That sort of thing doesnt bother me though, it actually makes me happy to see a new option coming

I wonder what the closest place to see it is from, im sure someone here knows, perhaps thats something I can do today, need some fresh air!

I wondered what those square boxes on the top are? if theyre building some sort of firework viewing deck on the top or perhaps a dvc lounge or special room type?? Its uneven right now, maybe theyre just not done building all the floors 🤔

You can take the boat to FW and you’ll have a close look. Currently here and you can definitely see it, but it blends nicely with the trees around the building. It’ll definitely look better once the colors and theming is final.

It’ll definitely blend much better than the contemporary/BLT, which is fine in my opinion.

Okay then I think I already saw it as close as possible 😅

Are they going to open up the old walkway from WL to FW? It would be a big plus if there was a nice walk to walk between WL & LSL & FW.
A few years ago, we did hear they planned to open the walkway once the DVC resort opened. We definitely know that it was restored and repaved so it should be ready to go.

Just checked out after my stay at the Lodge. It’s been a year since I last had the chance to see the progress. I must say, I was expecting it to look much larger, but from the other side of the lake it blends nicely with the surrounding trees. I bet it’ll blend even better once the final theming is done. It’s massive when you look at it from the Fort.

For comparison, you can see that BLT looks huge since it’s much taller.

Edit: lol I just noticed I did the same as Mikey15. I swear it wasn’t on purpose 🤣

Looks like some new photos were taken of the progress.

Curious since it’s supposed to open in 2027, when do they start to release some or any details of points charts, dues, restrictions etc. Also, is it expected to open early 2027 or late 2027?

None will come out until closer to when sales start.

They never even announced restrictions for VDH…they just updated the documents to include them.

Based on the recent timelines, I’d expect that info about 4 months before opening date.

Onboard the DCL Destiny now and heard from a guide yesterday that the update on LSL is … that there is no update on LSL. The other earth shattering comment was that if the resort opens in early to mid 2027, guides might start selling near the end of 2026. Feels like I got a weather report for last Tuesday.

This isnt surprising, they legally cant say anything until a few months before opening.

The timeline for sales makes sense too based on the last resorts.

They went on sale about 3 months before opening

When we were there in January, I noticed Lake Shore Lodge listed in the resorts at the DVC booths; the guides said they were glad they could finally start admitting that it's a DVC resort, as before they weren't allowed to talk about it, and that DVC members always seems to have more info about new resorts than they do. I'm chomping at the bit myself to know when they go on sale.

This might be some very important Intel. They would act as if ones being build didn’t exist until sales announcement. This might indicate part of that trust.

I don’t think so. What they can’t do is promote it for sales. They can always say and show “it’s coming”. Even more when it has a regular hotel section.

Very well could be but they don’t like to mention those things to give you the impression to wait for it. They want to sell today what they have.

Let's talk the Lazy River - can anyone give me a sense based on the pictures how big this is going to be? Like, how does it compare to the one at the Hilton Orlando size wise? I can't tel at all.
