Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

That's all well and good for anyone to think that -and you may be 100% correct, but what are we to do when all evidence about his spiritual mentor, spiritual family, and spiritual home says different?

have we seen ALL of the evidence??? :confused3

Tell me what the preacher said that offends you so very much. Please. I'm serious here.

I thought I was posting the video that also included the pastor's anti-American statements and other obnoxious statements. See this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=it4mLDSdBCg

However, I still find the initial video offensive. It is an insult to all of the white people that have been voting for Obama throughout the primaries, who believe that people should not be judged by the color of their skin.

Since no one answered, I'll ask my question again. If it had been discovered that John McCain had been seeking guidance from and had been attending sermons for 20 years of a white supremacist , and then put him on his campaign, would we be laughing it off, saying "no big deal","I'm not voting for the pastor" and "he probably doesn't agree with those parts anyway". Or would we have serious concerns? (and rightfully so!)

It is so encouraging to know full well I have been BLESSED with being on the right side of these issues....i feel so sorry for these psuedo religous folks who choose only to see religion through the narrow scope of their own angry white upbringing

Thats funny.

Assumably because Im NOT voting for Obama - Im a psuedo religious folk? Thats hysterical.

I dont go to Church. Dont have my kids baptised. Never opened a Bible in my life.... hmph. Weird. :confused3

well then you should not have answered my first question...you actually don't know which book it was...you were only going off of one article you read ....

so i read and listen to all sides and come to a decision ...but i have rose colored glasses???
I'd rather have those on than blinders!!!!:thumbsup2

OKey Doke...he OBAMA HIMSELF cited being inspired by Rev Wright. You can keep the glasses and the blinders, my friend.

I am so glad I don't belong to a religion anymore!

I NEVER have....hows THAT for shocking? ;)

For REAL!! I had better things to do....like wash my feet.....;) :lmao:

Or pick my nose. ;)

 Since there has been abuse of both boys and girls in all faiths, I guess no one should attend church, synagogue, or mosque. There are many more good priests, preachers, and mullahs than there are bad.

Come up with an original argument. What Obama's pastor said was racist.

Racist-1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race 2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

Discrimination-b: prejudiced or prejudicial outlook, action, or treatment

bigot-one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

I'm not saying that Obama believes everything his minister preaches but he should speak out about it. By not doing so, it seems that he condones what the preacher is saying.

He has spoken out before. He needs to speak out again. I am just attempting to point out there is hypocrisy in most, if not all, religions. I find the comments offensive...but truth be told, I find using children in despicable ways more offensive. I don't, however, think every single person who decides they still want to attend mass needs to make sure they denounce the abusers loudly, and in public every Sunday. I feel confident Obama will address this, again. The sad thing is that no matter how many times he addresses it, it won't be enough for some folks.

It'd be fine, as long as he wrote an inspirational book cuz of the guy - and makes women swoon and pass out!!! :thumbsup2

Oh and chants the Bob the Builder slogan - YES WE CAN!!! :)

I do not buy this hogwash - well, he doesnt agree with everything he says. Trust me - we dont have a small selection of churches in Chicago. He chose to attend this one for over 20 years, be married by this man and have his children baptised by this man.

Saying he reminds him of an old uncle is hardly "addressing it."

I would have a HUGE problem with it and would probably have major reservations about voting for him.

Oh - I'm voting for McCain by the way.

Exactly! Thank you! :thumbsup2 See my post on the previous page with links and snips from articles about the style of theology his church affirms. To separate him from his pastor's leadership could be offensive to Obama's beliefs. The whole idea in Black Liberation Theology is that spirituality IS NOT INDIVIDUALISTIC.

I wish I knew more about McCain's religion. I'm guessing his church must have some 11th or 12th commandment, though, that demands you to dump your wife and run off with a beer heiress. :rotfl2:

Yes....I know that...I listened to Obamas speech in 2004 and i have bothered to read his books.....
I said that the person who inspired obama to write that speech could not have been prejudice....( since wright inspired him....there must be more to him than the few minutes we have seen on you tube)

The key to trying to join folks together is to listen to them and try to understand their point of view.... even if it may be painful to hear....

If you read dreams from my father , you would know how he came to that church.....but you would rather do other things....

I'll just say that being a pastor myself, it is curious to me what decision-making process leads Wright to speak like he does. I have had members of my flock run for office (Superior Court Judge; County Commissioner; City Council; School Board etc). In each case I have prayed for and with the candidates in private, spoken well of them when I had the chance (but NEVER from the pulpit); and even donated money to their campaigns. Personally I just cannot connect the dots to get to where Wright was in his form of support. This is aside from how the candidate himself handled -or chose not to handle -this particular form of support. I know I may be in the DIS minority, but -in short -in this case it matters.

And I don't know whether its been mentioned further into this thread, but some of his preaching included a lot of negative language against the Clintons and the United Church of Christ is wondering why the IRS is looking and listening? :confused3 Its my denomination but some of his sermons sounded like campaign speeches.

I'll see your Wright and raise you a Hagee.

It's not even remotely the same thing. Wright is Obama's spiritual mentor and has been for over 20 years. Hagee is a name on a list McCain is trying check off.

Folks, it's all perspective. :rotfl2:

This isn't about religion or hypocracy. Its about one church Obama chose to belong to, and one racist, anti-American pastor he chose to seek guidance from. I don't know why you keep bringing Catholic Priests into this- if one of them had been accused of something, I'd hope people would distance themselves from them too. A few of you seem to be really grasping at straws here to defend him...

Folks, it's all perspective. :rotfl2:

If you're not willing to take an intelligent look into the significance of Obama's faith -how he has practiced it, been guided by it, and may be informed in the future by it -then there is really nothing to be learned. Not everything can be reduced to elementary syllogisms, followed by a smiley, and dismissed in the usual course of gotcha politics.
