Hey, its me, being a pain again 😁
Can someone who is in the park this week and is a shopper like me, please check to see if this band is available in the park or WOD? If not, I'm gonna have to order soon to get it for my Tink outfit...I have the older keyhole one but its not very pretty.

TIA to all!

Yes,its on Disney Store but if I can get it in park, I can use my MK discount...better than just Visa discount which I am not even sure I can get on it online....🤔

Yeah, I do which brings it down to $40...i should have bought it yesterday when there was free shipping....😢😞

I bought the tink green magic band (the old one) and was able to use my Visa discount and they refunded me shipping!

This is really cute, good luck finding it at the best price!

I don't have a magic band because they seem too expensive, and I like to wear a watch. Plus I'm Canadian so it's like $70 which is even more crazy! I feel like an old lady saying "if they would put a watch face on it, it would be worth it".

I've said this sooooo many times!! I don't know why watches went out of style because I find them much easier for checking the time than getting out my phone. Of course, I AM an old lady, LOL.

But anyway, I wish MBs could have a watch function as well as the other stuff.

Don't Apple Watches have some MB capabilities at WDW? That's the obvious solution: add MB capabilities to a watch instead of vice versa. MBs would become a lot more expensive if they included a watch.

I know that Apple has licensed some Disney images. I've seen the Mickey Mouse design. Is there a Tinkerbell?

I don't understand why Disneyland doesn't have this option.

I'll be there for a short time this weekend. Not sure how much shopping I will do but I will keep my eyes open.

Was hoping I might hear from you...but I thought I read you'd been OOT so I wasn't sure when you would be back in the park...appreciate it! TIA.

I'll make it back in time to see Ryan Riller. Last time he was at DLR, we were at WDW.

We will be tired so I dont know how long we will stay.

I am not an Apple person, hah. I don't think it would be a lot more expensive for them to add a watch face, they are already ripping us off on value, but a higher price might detract from people who collect multiple magic bands etc. Anyway, it isn't a thread about my complaints lol, sorry.

Thank you for posting a picture of both MB and a watch on the same wrist. I was wondering how I was going to have a MB along with my Garmin.

I like that MB. Hopefully it is available in the parks. I want one! My DD and I are finally biting the bullet and getting us each one. She has always like having the paper ticket and scanning herself in. This is a good replacement for her.

I'm planning to be in the parks Wednesday night, but I'll do a slight preview now.

I ended up grabbing dinner tonight at DLH, so I checked outside the parks.

There were no MagicBands either at DLH or in DTD (World of Disney, Pin Traders). If there's any inventory at the resort, it's probably going to be in the parks (especially DL), given the 70th interactions.

The inventory of MagicBands at DLR has trickled down to basically nothing in the last few weeks, with no obvious explanation. (I've been updating slightly in the Purchasing MagicBand+ thread.) I haven't seen any at WoD in two weeks, and this was Tomorrowlanding's selection on 3/22 (which, until recently, filled up this entire rack):

But I don't know where that stands at the moment. (My pass was blocked out last week.)

I'll update with the parks inventory one way or the other on Wednesday. With the new releases, I'm hoping they'll have something at either the Emporium, Westward Ho, or Tomorrowlanding.

WOW...very familiar with THAT shop...used to be two FULL rows of bands...I guess DS is prolly my best bet...thats just amazing to me. Well, maybe they are phasing them out for the next big thing 🤷‍♀️
But then why continue to add new designs online?

Thank you so much for checking!

This is what is preventing me from buying one. I am afraid I will buy one for this trip and then by the time I need it again in a year or two it will be obsolete and not work.

Update from tonight (parks were packed so I didn't stay as long as I thought I would):

I was pleasantly surprised to find a few MagicBands for sale. Unfortunately, only the DVC band - nothing else. And just a handful at that - Tomorrowlanding had maybe a dozen of them next to the register; World of Disney had maybe 15 on a trinket rack on the right/west side of the store. But that was it - nothing in any other store that I went into, including Westward Ho (which was always a solid go-to).

So, yeah, DS is going to be your best bet.

No worries! Btw - here's that rack tonight - just Stitch (you can see the DVC MagicBand stock in the back):

I can't say with any certainty, but I would bet there's some kind of supply issue, and they're sending everything that's available to WDW and the cruise ships since they're more useful/necessary there. LKing noticed that the Adventure was in port in L.A. around the time that a lot of the stock disappeared at DLR - hard not to speculate that they grabbed any MagicBand that wasn't DVC or park-specific. (DLR stocked a lot of the "Mom" and "Dad" ones in early February, so it was surprising that they were gone so quickly.)

I can't imagine they'd be phasing them out, even if it'd make sense since they haven't really been flying off the shelves. I think if they were doing that, they'd remove the online pages - all of the pages about MagicBand are still in the app. It's a weird thing - the tech is here, it works - there's really no reason not to sell them, even if just at a couple of stores.

I wish they'd ship the Disneyland 70th ones back to the resort - like, I don't know why DS needs to sell those when there's nothing else available.

Side note - if any of you have old MB+s floating around:

Make sure you charge your bands occasionally (maybe every couple of months or so), even if you never use them. At least charge them in full (and turn them off) before putting them away long-term.

I bought an older Epcot band recently off eBay (probably 2022-era), and, despite being unused/new, it was flat dead. It turned on when I plugged it in, but the battery absolutely would not take a charge. (As soon as I unplugged it, it was dead.)

Apparently, if an MB+ battery goes completely completely dead, the band won't recognize the battery, and it won't charge.

I poked around - some guy discovered that if you heat it with a hair dryer, it might start charging:

I tried that off-and-on for a while (maybe a half-hour), and it kinda sorta started taking a charge. I heated up one more time then left it plugged in overnight, and was pleasantly surprised to find it glowing green in the morning. But I think it only got to about 50% charge, and it hasn't taken a charge since then. (I wore it tonight - it works great, but I don't know how easy it's going to be to get it charged again. Mercifully, I really only need the tap, so even if the battery's dead, I can still use it.)

Unfortunately for me, I don't have a hair dryer, so I'll have to wait until the next hotel stay to try it again.

This was all new to me - I went ahead and charged my old ones, just to (hopefully) avoid this issue.
