Blockout dates!?!?

A LONG time ago, there was something said about selling DVC contracts purchased with a CM discount. The gist of it was, we were not supposed to sell for a profit I believe. I remember it clearly, but don't remember if they even enforced it. They don't now; I sold my BCV for more than I paid for it (sold 2 years ago). We are still members at WL BR.

I have trips in April and September this year, and might have to buy passes for both. I will cancel the December trip if APs still are not sold, and/or of MEPs are still blocked. I bumped April up to Riviera 1BR to burn some points.

That's what I remembered. We've gone back and forth considering to sell, even thinking to change home resort. Getting a room where you want gets harder every year.
Ticket prices are a bit of a shock, I've had a pass for quite a few years now so never noticed.

I was ok with using comps or buying a day pass for Studios, using the MEP for the other days. But buying passes for each trip is not really possible. Hoping for the DVC AP to be offered again this year.

I, for one, am not willing to buy an annual pass just to go to the parks. There are more things to do in life than to pay for a privilege we worked (or are working) for. I feel that days should be opened up for CMs and hopefully we will get back to a 100% capacity soon. They need to get rid of the reservation system. I know people who book reservations and don’t show up. I bet today is one because it is storming here.

I am encouraging all blocked out cast members to message, email, send a complaint into guest services through the hub....I know they read these, now you may get a blanket, generic response, but they do read them.

My good friend and her family are going to WDW next week. She will be there for 8 days and not one day is she able to use her MEP or guest passes. That is ridiculous. Yes, I know the paying public have first dips but she is also DVC staying at a DVC resort and can't get into any parks.

The CM on the phone told her don't even both checking each day as you won't get in. I told to keep checking as you never know.

Epcot has availability on Tuesday and Wednesday this week for MGP and Employee self admission. Always good to check everyday to see if something comes up.

Well, they just released the May calendar and as of right now, we are blocked out with self-admit and MEP 🤬

I hope this lets up :( We were there all of last week and had so much fun (minus the heat that I wasn't expecting :sunny:), but I used so many comp tickets (of my own plus some from co-workers who didn't mind parting with them) that it'll take me a while to save up enough to use for an entire week-long trip again. We'd like to maybe go back in either October and/or February but can't decide if we should seriously think about planning anything because of the block out situation. It's really a bummer.

We are booked for mid September hoping that school is back and it is still far enough away from Oct 1. Once Oct 1 rolls around I see the calendar all red again. Also hoping the summer hype has subsided by then even though we arrive the Wednesday after Labor Day so fingers crossed. If the blockout doesnt let up by then I am buying Universal tickets and using comps for HS!!!

I just purchased Florida resident passes for me and my granddaughter for when she visits in October and again in December. They were cheaper than cast discounted tickets. It's the only way I can make park reservations in advance. Sad.

I see they opened up Epcot Tues. And Wed. Why do they allow self admission and guest pass but block MEP? Are dependants to use the guest pass?

Just as a reminder. When you look at the ticket type for blockouts, the one day park hopper guest ticket is the ticket that is/was given to casual temporary and college program CMs. It is not your comp ticket. The comp ticket is not blocked out. You just have to hope you can get a reservation with it when you need one. I have one day booked for September that I am going to use with my free hotel stay that they are giving to CMs. I also booked a reservation at MK and Epcot for 1 and 2 October. Hopefully we will be able to use our MGPs by that time.

Hi there, do you think they will open the registration at midnight for the free hotel stay? I would hate to have to do it in the middle of the night, but I would bet they wouldn't think of it....like our schedules coming out at midnight 🙄 😂

The Hub says it will be very busy starting at midnight. They say registration opens at 11:59 pm and they already have the dates listed. I’m going to log in at 11:45 pm so that I will be in before midnight.
