Over at Blu-ray.com, rumor is bouncing-around that Walmart will offer a Blu-ray player for well-under $100 (which doesn't surprise me, since they are already selling some for around $100, today).

Ihopeibopeihope!!!!!!! Love BF but may not be able to go this year due to work! But that is why I have my secret weapon!! Super daughter (insert image of red caped super hero)!! She was raised going to BF sales, then out to breakfast, and can't wait for this year either!!
We've decided to forego any big presents until that day to see what the sales are!

Wondering if anyone else did what I did last year? After my wonderful solo shopping I still got home in enuf time to do online shopping. I did that for Kohls and ToysRUs the 2 stores hat were too acked up when I went by them. It was great still got the black friday price plus free shipping. Only didnt get any door bargins.

I do that as well! I think a lot of people don't realize many stores have a lot of the sales online before the stores even open! I always check online first because if I can get something crossed of my list ahead of time it gives me more time to hunt down other things that are only in store! Plus of course it beats having to be shoved around.

They start at 5am. Most will let you line up in the store, some line up outside, and they'll unwrap/hand out the products starting at 5am.

Thanks but are they open before 5am and wht do you mean unwrap/hand out products !!?? I am hoping itwill be betterthan the olsd store where it was outside and MANY cutters that caused fights etc !! The police have been there for a few years catching the cutters and refusing to even let them in at all!!

I can only speak about my local Walmart. (It sounds like it varies.) We went last year. The store was open and we walked right in aobut an hour before the "sale" started. All of the BF ad items are on these palates throughout the store covered in black plastic. Employees stand near them to keep you from just taking stuff. We located the items we wanted and just stood next to them. When the employees get the all clear, they cut the plastic and you just grab what you want. Fortunately everyone around us was fairly civilized. We were the first ones in line so we grabbed first. Of course, it helps that DH is a big intimidating guy that no one would dare pick a fight w/ anyway.

You might go ahead and pick one up. Watch the flyers for the item, get it black friday. Then return the more expensive one. Check the stores return policies before buying to see if this will work, and keep your receipt.

Good idea. I figured the DS's were like Wiis in that the price is the same no matter where you buy it, but I know I've seen some with gift cards in the past (I, of course, wasn't looking then, though).

I can't believe it is time for this thread already! Dd9 just told me a few hours ago that she wants a video camera this year, so I'm hoping for some good deals on those. I'm also interested in that Christmas in July post a few pages back! I got my best deal 3 wks before Thanksgiving last year, in one of the Walmart Secret Saturday sales. I got dd9 a laptop for $299, and it has been great. I'd love to have one for myself if they are offered again this year!
