Bl 7.1 purple team!!!!!

LuvBaloo: If that's the case, that's fine. It certainly is a busy time of year. Green team seems to be more than active than us, so I didn't know if it was something with this thread specifically or maybe just everybody here is so much busier. I figured it never hurts to ask!

Congrats to all the big losers! So excited to see I made our teams list!:thumbsup2

As far as the thread goes, Jessi you are doing a good job, QOTD's, and there are several people answering or commenting on other people's posts. I personally have just gotten busier that I don't have the time like I used to, to answer or comment for everyone. And that being said, I sometimes feel disconnected from the group. It is competely from lack of time on my part and nothing else.

I decided to relax this morning instead of working out, my hear completely wasn't in it, so I decided to postpone my workout till tonight, and take it easy this morning, hence I am on WISH right now. I think I may go back to bed for a bit and do some reading. Kind of nice to relax this morning!

QOTD Monday: How did you do this weekend?

I think that I did really well. I had two jewelry parties to go to. I did indulge in two small brownies at the Friday party, but I counted them and used Flex points for them (which I rarely use) and all is good. Saturday was a day at home, so that was easy, as far as eating is concerned. Sunday I only ate strawberries and grapes at the jewelry party, so no problems there. I did use a few Flex points that day as well, for an evening treat.

I managed to get in 20 minutes of exercise Friday, 30 on Saturday, and 57 on Sunday (not counting cleaning out the garage and some vigorous vacumming and dusting :rotfl: !). I did WELL this weekend. But the April Exercise challenge and the Easter Challenge over on the Peeps board is helping to keep me motivated, in addition to the BL challenge!

QOTD: What can the captain or coach do to make this thread more enticing?

Well.... I LOVE the questions of the day. I only missed it yesterday because my laptop is currently out of commission and I didn't get a chance to use the kids computer (which I am on right now). I love coming here to see how everyone is doing. I try to respond and post encouragement when I can, but I am not always able to keep up. I don't know that anything else CAN be done. I think peope will either keep up their interest and keep reading/posting, or they won't. Don't forget too.... it is a busy time for some folks with Easter coming this week and school vacations right around the corner. Maybe folks just aren't able to find time to hit the DIS right now. Anyhow, thanks for asking...............P

QOTD Monday: How did you do this weekend?
Okay. Not spectacular, not a total bomb.

QOTD: What can the captain or coach do to make this thread more enticing?
I know that I have a problem posting....nothing being done/not being done, just limited time. Please know that even though I might not post, I do keep up with the thread.

I think that on the green team, you'll find people that have been around forever, so, maybe already have a connection (I know of a few that did the inaugural WISH half-marathon with me).

Jessi, keep up the good work, and good luck to your kidlets on the test tomorrow. I know how stressful that can be! ::yes::

Hello All!

Looks like you all have been busy exercising and eating right!!!

My apologies for not posting this past week, with our family's current schedule I do not have much time for myself. This is the first evening where we did not have to be at a practice, game, cub scouts, etc. I have tried to read the posts whenever I have had a few minutes but have not had time to post.

Here are some of my QOTD's...
My favorite thing about Disney is the Magic and Wonder of it ALL! The movies, characters, theme parks, cast members and more!

Weekend plans were...
Saturday Opening Day for Little League . Pictures, TBall game and our first Major League game. Sunday - soccer game.

Actual weekend activities....
All baseball games were cancelled on Saturday (due to weather on Friday) and rescheduled to Sunday. Since most of the boys playing soccer are also in baseball, we had to cancel our soccer game. After a hectic morning of baseball pictures on Saturday, I was able to work in my gardens and yard all day. Anyone have any idea what it is like having eight TBall teams (5-7 yrs) all assigned for pictures at the same time. UGH!!
Exciting major league game - my son (10) was so nervous when he was up to bat for the first time. He ended up hitting a 2 RBI single. Yes, you read that right - 2 RBI single. :woohoo:

Yes, we celebrate Easter.

How did I do this weekend? So far I have not been able to get a regular exercise program scheduled. I got a lot of exercise working in the yard but other than that nothing else. Have not yet had a chance to clean off the treadmill out in the garage. That is the plan for this upcoming long weekend. As for eating, I am doing better. I have been restocking the pantry with healthier snacks for myself and the kids. I have also been cutting out the breads, pasta and potatoes as much as possible for myself.

As for making the thread more enticing, I think you are doing a fine job. I am new to the WISH section and I have nothing to compare it too anyway. For me, I do not post on a regular basis because I do not have the time. It has nothing to do with my lack of interest. I do get on and try to read as often as I can though.

I lost 4 pounds last week and hope to lose a few more this week. I did have a few cookies at our Cub Scout Pack Meeting last night.:confused3 I will have to work extra hard this week now. :yay:

We have a game tomorrow night, soccer practice and TBall practice Thursday night, and baseball practice Friday night so I am not sure when I may post again.

Hope you all have a wonderful week and holiday weekend!!! Enjoy and just remember to fill up your plates with lots of veggies and fruits...especially on Sunday!

Regards,
Lisa

Please welcome our newest member: My2E's!

Ok, I officially feel bad now. I joined in, and then haven't even checked back to notice which team I was added on. I admit it.... I was one of the 2 who missed last week's weight in.

I now know that I am on the purple team, and am REALLY joining in!:thumbsup2 Can't promise how the weight will be come Friday, but maybe I'll get lucky and it won't be too bad.

I skipped over the other pages of the thread really fast, so i have some catching up to do, and I will be checking back more often for motivation. I haven't been doing too great lately. I haven't exercised now in 10 days! I feel tired too. It has been one crazy week, and it isn't going to get any better over the next few days, so I am just gonna have to make myself take the time for myself and get up and do it!

Ok enough rambling on. Time to go to bed cause I'm beat!

HI,
I apologize for not posting often. I'm still struggling with my plan. I have done low carb in the past, and lost weight quickly. But, I have a hard time sticking to it for more than a month.
I have done weight watchers in the past, lost weight slowly, but again lost my way.
HELP! I need to find something I can stick to. Does anyone have a "home-made" plan that works well? I just want simple, I'm not a recipe person and am so frustrated with myself for still being overweight, after dieting for the last 20 years. :sad2:

I was motivated last night watching Biggest Loser. Seeing them shove that food in their faces was eye opening. I kept thinking "It's just food, what are you doing risking all the work you've done!" Then I thought, DUH! That's what I should be saying to myself!

My dream is to be able to run. It looks so freeing! I have been sick for over a month with a cough, and am waiting to hear back from my Dr. about what to do next. (antibiotics didn't help, prednisone didn't help) I think I may have walking pneumonia and need another type of antibiotic. I just want to feel well so I can go to the park and start the couch to 5k program.

I'm sorry I'm all over the place. In my head I'm motivated, in reality I feel lost.

Thanks for listening. I'm going to try to post more often to connect with you, fine, fellow Dis lovers. Maybe we can help each other.

CONGRATS to all of you who are sticking with a plan and losing! Hats off to you!!!

Hi Beth,

I feel so much like you -- some days I totally have it together, and others it just doesn't happen. And I always start out the day with a great plan and healthy breakfast, lunch is good, dinner is usually fine, and then things get a little crazy in the evening...and you're right, it's just food. Why would I spend all that time on the TM and then shove things in my face that I know will negate that hard work? :confused3

It's really hard when you want to work out and you can't. It sounds like right now you need to focus on getting better, and then the walking, then running, will come. Don't try to do too much too soon, and end up worse than you were before. Babysteps. I know you can do it!

Ok, so I didn't get up and do my workout this morning, I'm hoping to do it when I get home tonight. I just felt so tired, I could not get out of bed at 5 am. :sad2:

I'm sorry I'm not the best teammate with posting. I am on too many threads, and I try to keep up, but...

Maria :upsidedow

Maria,
Thanks so much for the kind reply. Just knowing I'm not alone in how I feel helps so much. I think you are right about the baby steps. I haven't been journaling, so I think I'll start that today.

I think being accountable to our team is a great motivator, too. I don't want to let you guys down! I'm glad we have teams this time, it makes it more personal and makes each of us more responsible. That's gotta help!

Beth,
I think having a cough for a month is really draining for you both physically and emotionally. I've been there in the past, and it is awful when you just feel tired.
Have you considered buying pre-planned meals? I can't remember the company, but I know a couple ladies in the US that get deliveries of pre-planned meals, including snacks. They get a delivery of a week or 2 worth of food that is kept in the freezer. That may help you get a start and take away the stress of deciding what to prepare?
I just started WW-online because going to meetings doesn't work for me. I like simple, and being able to look up the points and track on-line seems easier to me. I've also been buying some of the WW frozen meals at the grocery store and using them as the main part of my lunch. There's lots of other brands, and some are very delicious.
For a simple, no-plan thing for the last couple months, I've watched portions and followed the old rule of 1/2 your plate is vegetables, 1/4 starch and 1/4 meat. And if I feel hungry for a snack in the evening, I have a drink of water first, then if I'm still hungry in 20min, I'll find a snack.
Hang in there!:grouphug:

:cheer2:I wanted to share that I was very excited this morning, I went to do my belt up, and it went to a smaller notch :cool1: That's the second notch down since Jan 1st. I'm having small successes since I started BL7 in January. I really like the positive support and small accountability of this set up. Thanks and to Jessi for leading the charge with BL7.1!

Shannon,
Thank you so much for your reply. I think you are right, I'm just tired from coughing for so long. I just heard back from the Dr., and he called in a different antibiotic. Hopefully, this one works.

I think maybe doing WW at home would be good for me. I know the system, and I do enjoy some of their pre-made meals. I started writing down what I eat today, and boy, it really makes me think before I grab something!

Also, just stocked up on some fruits and low cal snacks.

The encouragement from you and Maria helps, too. Thanks so much! I don't know why I didn't post before.:confused3 I'm sort of the person in our family others rely on, and I'm not use to depending on others for support.

Congrats, also on the belt notch! Way to go!

CONGRATS to all of you who are sticking with a plan and losing! Hats off to you!!!

First off.... sorry about the cough. Coughing is SO tiring and annoying! It is kind of like chinese water torture! Hope the new antibiotic helps.

Just some thoughts about eating plans. JMHO, of course, but I think that low carb would be difficult to stick with for a life time (not impossible, just difficult). It is very restricting and doesn't always fit in with "real life".

I think what is great about Weight Watchers and other plans like it, is that is really is REAL LIFE eating. You just have to be careful about eating HEALTHY things and not wasting your points on junk food. WW is all about healthy choices (for the most part) and portion control... but also allows room for treats and splurges. I think it really is the best of both worlds. Especially since they have a CORE program that is a bit more like a lower carb system with very little points counting involved. Have you tried that yet??

I do think that the thing that discourages some people about WW is that the weight doesn't just FALL off rapidly, like it does with some "diets". But it is a much healthier system that I TRULY BELIEVE people can follow for a lifetime! But you have to believe and you have to remember... that this is a LIFE LONG JOURNEY.... not a quick weekend roadtrip. You have to be committed to this for the long haul or it will not work. I think that is finally ringing true with me and why I have been having some long(er) term success this time.

Good luck with whatever plan you decide to follow.

I feel your pain with the 5 am thing. I didn't get up this morning either and I STILL haven't fit in my work out :headache:. And I had to shower to go coach robotics, so if I workout now, it will be with fresh hairdo :sad2:. Oh well.

Way to go on the belt notch! It truly is the "little things" in life that are sometimes the most exciting!................P

Sory I'm not replying to individuals. I just got to my folk's place, my school is on spring break. Had a wonderful trip. One of my cats projectile vomited spit up from the back seat all the way to my stereo. Had to bathe him when we got home. He managed to shred the thick refinishing gloves I was wearing so now I have some lovely scratches (hate to think what it would have been like without the gloves) and I'm pretty sure he is plotting revenge.

I travel to the KC area tomorrow for another job interview. Then I pick up my boyfriend and we are heading to St. Louis for Six Flags on Friday. I can't wait!

QOTD Thursday: If you could go to any Disney park in the world which one would yo ugo to?

Jessi, sounds like it was a rough trip to your parents. Good luck on your interview :goodvibes

As for the QOTD:
I would go to DL or WDW. If I had 2 weeks and a high budget, I'd go to WDW as there is more there. But DL is my favourite, I love not having to deal with transportation; and how in 5 days we can do everything we want there.

QOTD Thursday: If you could go to any Disney park in the world which one would yo ugo to?

I would love to go to Tokyo Disney Sea! The whole setup sounds wonderful!

Good luck with your interview, Jessi. Hope kitty feels better soon!

QOTD Thursday: If you could go to any Disney park in the world which one would you go to?

I honestly have no interest in going anywhere but WDW Florida! I know it may sound boring, but in all the years I've been going, there are still things I haven't done. And, I'm a big chicken about leaving the country.:rotfl:

If I ever get to the west coast, I would definitely go to Disneyland, but I wouldn't make a special trip there.

QOTD Thursday: If you could go to any Disney park in the world which one would you go to?

TOUGH question! I suppose it depends on how much time I had and what time of year it was. I have only been to Disneyland once and it was part of the BEST trip of my ENTIRE life! So I would love to go back. But I also feel like even after multiple trips to WDW, there is SO MUCH I haven't seen yet. So I would love a LOOOOOONG trip there to see things I've missed. So I guess my answer is..... short trip is DL, long trip is WDW.

FWIW, I would love to see Disneyland Paris and DisneySea Tokyo as well, but since I have never been to either, but if I had the time of money to travel abroad, there are definitely NON-Disney things I would probably rather see.

ANYHOOO.... how is everyone doing today? I had a sneak peek on the scale yesterday and DID NOT like what I saw and I was feeling very discouraged. But Aunt Flo has arrived for a visit, so hopefully that is what was showing up on the scale yesterday. I've also been doing more strength training over the past week than I have before, so I suppose it could also be the "building muscle" excuse. There really is no other reason. I am staying strictly on program and exercising almost daily.

My folks are coming up today to help me get ready to host Easter Saturday for my side of the family. We will be going to my SIL's for Easter Sunday. They were all (20-ish of them) invited here, but my invitation was declined, so looks like we will be driving to MA on Sunday.

I hope my Mom likes washing windows and dusting, because there is PLENTY of it to do! I get so FRANTIC when I get ready for company. It usually takes me at least a week of steady cleaning to feel ready. Last time we hosted a holiday it tooks us WEEKS because we laid new flooring in the kitchen and downstair bath, painted the kitchen and hall, and put in new baseboard trim in the kitchen and hall. :scared1:

Not going quite so crazy this time (although last time it was a GREAT excuse to get DH moving on some projects. Too bad he is away right now!). But I figure I am getting company cleaning and spring cleaning done in one fell swoop. DD's tiny bathroom took me TWO HOURS to clean yesterday. SHe is such a SLOB! And I'm tackling her room this morning. She attempted it last weekend, but fell very short of the goal. I gave DS some help on Sunday and he powered through his pretty well.

At this point most of the main rooms just need a vacume (or floor mopping) and dusting and a few odd things put away. I did clean my bedroom last week, but as usual it is the family dumping ground and will need some attention again today.

Anyhow, I am RAMBLING about cleaning instead of actually CLEANING!! :rotfl: Guess I am just procrastinating.... especially since I only gave myself "permission" to sit here while I drank my coffee and now my cup is EMPTY! :guilty:

Best Passover and Easter wishes to all of my BL buddies! .......................P
