'puter problems for me, but, hopefully they will be fixed tomorrow. One good thing....I can't spend all night doing school work! ;)
 
I was hired! Yesterday I interviewed with two schools. One had two openings (resource and behavioral/social skills) and the other was for a resource room. The first school told me about a week, the other didn't have a time frame since htey just started interviewing.

I got a call from the district office this afternoon and both principals wanted to hire me! I chose the first school because of the resources they have and I felt like I really clicked with the principal. I will be teaching in the behavioral and social skills room K-5. We're on our way out for a celebratory dinner at Applebee's (no Points counting allowed!). I will post the results of this weigh in after dinner so if you haven't PMd me you have about another hour or two to do so!

QOTD Wednesday: How did you do this past week? How will you do better (or the same if you did well?)

Well.... I did pretty well last week, but I know I can do better. I have increased my workout times to almost an hour a day (a HUGE breakthrough for me). I've added some weight training and abs to my usual TM walking and running.

This week I have kept up with the increased workout time. I did have a big splurge yesterday (movie theater popcorn), but I counted it (the best I could) and stayed within my points, so it shouldn't derail me too badly. Plus I did a quick 20 minute workout (with the J Michaels video) when we decided to go to the movies in an attempt to keep me on track.

In an attempt to do better this week, I am going to try and drop the artificially sweetened treats that I often eat at the end of the day (100 cal packs, WW candies, etc) and increase my fruit. That should be a bit easier, as the spring fruits are coming in around here finally.

I'm also going to avoid some of the family meals that are difficult to calculate points on. I think that I have a pretty good idea sometimes, but it is usually difficult to really pinpoint how many points and how big a serving on some of the "little-of-this, little-of-that" casseroles that I sometimes throw together. If I make the family something like this, I will make myself a large salad with some protein. I don't want to do this all the time, because I end up feeling like a short-order cook (especially since DS has food allergies and can't always eat what I feed the rest of us), but I think it would be helpful for a few weeks.

Also, we are on Spring vacation next week and DH is taking the week off, so we will be in day-trip/road-trip mode for part of the week. I will have to make a BIG effort to stay on track for those days. I know that the kids/DH will be expecting fast food stops and junk food for the car rides. I'll have to make a grocery stop and plan some fun but healthy foods for all of us!

I got a big loss last week, which felt good, but it was because of starting a new eating regime with WW. This week will be a smaller loss, but I'm sticking to the game plan, and watching points, so it should still be a loss.

This week I have to start doing better on exercising. I'm not a morning person, but if I don't start doing a better job on exercising in evening, I'll have to try getting up in the morning and do it. I've made a deal with myself, exercise tonight or get up early tomorrow and do it.:scared:

pjlla - my family loves mini-carrots and snap peas to munch on in the car. I'm still in awe that you are managing to get an hour a day of exercising in, that's true dedication! :worship:
 
Hi everyone...I'm going to drop out of the contest, unfortunately, but I'll probably still be reading. My mom told me today that she only has 2 - 3 weeks to live :sad1:so my life is on hold. We're traveling to Orlando in a few days to be with her. I'm sorry for such a horrible post...keep on losing!:goodvibes

I will pray that you have the strength for this difficult time coming up and for your peace and your Mom's peace of mind. I cannot imagine what you are going through right now. Thanks for your kind words and inspiration. I was SO tempted to skip my workout today. It was getting later and I still hadn't found the time to fit it in. But I came on and saw your words and it truly INSPIRED me to fit in that workout! I got in a full 62 minutes (including 20minutes with my least favorite person, Jillian Michaels!). Thanks for being a GREAT teammate!...............P
 
WOHOO! I won $100 dollars. I joined a BL contest at the school where I work. It was about 6 weeks (mid-February through March). I thought I might come in somewhere in the top 5, but I found out today that I came in FIRST! I didn't even realize it. I haven't been working much lately, so the school nurse hadn't seen me to give me my winnings and to let me know the good news. I will be squirreling that $$ away for a future trip................P

I managed to get some exercising in last night. :cool1: 20min on the stepper and 20 min on the exercise bike and then 20 min sitting on the ball. I find even just sitting on the large exercise ball works my core muscles, and I did some arm exercises with hand weights at the same time.
 
Just jumping on to wish you all a good night and good numbers on the scale in the morning! I haven't peeked at all this week and it has been kind of an odd week for me, so I REALLY not sure what the scales will say. I am hoping we are a big bunch of LOSERS tomorrow!
