Hello Blue Losers!!

The last few days have went really well for me. My eating has been better and I've found it easier to stay on track. I'm actually looking forward to next Tuesday for my weigh in :) Hope everyone has a great week.

Well, I actually got up when my alarm went off at 5:15 this morning to walk.:scared1:
For some reason it has been so hard for me to get up an extra hour early, but this morning...I DID IT!!!:woohoo: One step at a time, right?

I hope everyone has a super day!!

Paraplegic here :wave2:SeaSpray, I am here to tell you that you do NOT need use of your feet or legs to exercise. There are a TON of exercises/cardio you can do while sitting. Don't let not being able to walk or stand stop you from exercising. Warning, tough love ahead: saying things like that is just an excuse.

As a full-time wheelchair user, I have been doing some sweaty, butt-kicking workouts for the past 2 years. I haven't stood on my feet in over 20 years. Trust me, you can do it. If you want some help or ideas, feel free to PM me. I would be happy to share some of the things I do with you.

Hi Lindsay :wave2: I was actually going to ask you for ideas on exercises you can do without using your feet/standing/walking, but I wasn't feeling well last night and went to bed early. <----(not an excuse, I really wasn't feeling well! LOL)

I was very impressed when I read about your exercise regime, and I definitely NEED to do some kind of exercises. In a strange way, my body is almost craving exercise at this point. I feel very good about having lost almost 25 pounds so far, and I'm down 2 sizes in clothing, but I need to start building my muscles up. I plan on buying some hand weights. Do you recommend starting out with a certain weight? I have flabby arms! lol I also can probably do sit-ups and push-ups, IF I can get down on the floor. I forgot to mention that I also have RA (rheumatoid arthritis), so my joints are painful almost all the time, so I don't get on the floor very often. lol But I'm willing to attempt it. lol

I would love to find out from you which cardio exercises you do, too. Thank you so much for offering to give me this info, I definitely need it! :sunny:

Good Morning Losers!

Yesterday was pretty successful. My calories were where they were supposed to be and I got all of my water plus some in. I did 45 minutes of cardio and a little strength training.

Add me to the list that has problems with their plantar. Mine is definately barking this morning. Oh well, I am just going to keep working through the pain.

I hope you have a great day.

Sabrina

Good morning everyone! I didn't quite have it together this morning and I didn't get to do my elliptical but I am planning on getting it done tonight! I hope you all have a great day!

i LOVE the humor -- i read panties the first couple times too!!! LOL

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I'm late, I was the recipient of a whopper 'Welcome back to School' COLD from my dear daughter! Why is it we can stay healthy all summer but within 2 weeks after school starts, we are all sick?? Anyway, feeling a bit more human this morning and ready to start this challenge!

My name is Kelsie (please call me Kelsie and not WebmasterKelsie) and I've been a member of the DIS since 1999. I have a beautiful almost 13 year old daughter and after 30 years in a career as a Manager for a Communications company, I now work from home as a Travel Agent. I really love my job but it had a lot to do with my weight gain over the past few years. Staying at home made it easier to access those 'secret' foods (I've always been a secret 'over-eater) and avoid physical activity altogether.

In June I found myself the heaviest I’ve ever been and decided it was time to do something about it. I limited my calories to 1000 or less a day and quickly dropped 30 pounds by early August. The past 2 weeks have been difficult and I gained back 5 pounds. Today my loss is at 28 pounds and I’m ready get back with the program! :)

I’m looking forward to this challenge and
GO BLUE!!

Good morning losers!:goodvibes

Sounds like we are moving and groving in the right direction. I woke up early and got my exercise on the elliptical done! Soon I will take the dog for a walk as well.:dog:

Lindsay I love your attitude! It is very inspiring. Maybe can you share some of your ideas with us? I know when I watch tv I would love to do some exercise. Maybe even if I just planned to do it during commercials. So instead of sitting there and eating...popcorn:: I could be doing some exercising as well.

I think what I will do is post a question every week and then add in some daily questions here and there, if you have anything that you want to address, talk about, please PM or email me. I am generating a list of questions... (I even have a game in mind!:yay: ) so let me know what is a concern, or what we can chat about, or what we can help you with... so for today...

What did you do to help you get ready for this challenge?

What I did is dig out my WW stuff and put it front and center on the kitchen table! I also threw out my big chip bags. I also had a talk with my family. Told them what I was doing and ask for their support. I took some before pics and today I am going to get going on my scrapbook so I can create a scrapbook to record my journey. I went to the scrapbook store over the summer and have some great ideas, I can't wait! I want to add in tons of 5# weight loss stickers from WW!

Hello everyone - I am a late addition due to the fact that I was gone walking the DL Half Marathon. I finished/cried a little/and almost passed out from the heat. But I have my medal!

Everyone asks me if I lose weight training for my events I do - but I tend to tell myself, well you woke up this morning and walked five miles, so of course you can have those potato pancakes. Ooops - doesn't work that way when you have 90 lbs in reserve.

The facts. I am 35, just married (today is our one month anniversary). I weighed myself this morning and I have 90 lbs to lose....ugh. Not my heaviest, but not good. I am 6 ft tall so I can hide a lot of it - but not that much.

I scrapbook, paint (mostly disney modern art). I make a little money selling paintings but I have two other businesses that keep me very busy. My goal is to have my art in the funky shops or art galleries of disney.

I am a Celiac (allergic to wheat) and now have the common affliction of Celiacs and that is I am developing allergies to everything. I will be following a RAW diet. It sounds awful but you get to eat full avocados everyday!! It will re set my food allergies and hopefully take off a lot of the weight.

I need to be held accountable and will try to post often.

Oh my goal is to wear the wedding dress that I was given (but didn't fit) when we take formal portraits in November. We got married in Scotland without any family and made arrangements to take pictures here in Arizona. I asked my husband for a three month window to make improvements. SO HERE GOES!!

Sasha

:welcome: hrpufnsash

wow, that is awesome that you did the DL 1/2 marathon. congrats on the medal!:goodvibes and congrats on the wedding. Getting married in Scotland, very cool!

Hey team, I have another question for you regarding the challenge.

How long do you want the challenge to go? Do you want to mirror the show and end with the finale? Or do you want to do it a little longer, like through the holidays? It might get long to go through the holidays... last year apparently there some drop outs as it got longer.

So, any ideas?:confused3

Well, I definitely need the accountability through the holidays (my WDW trip is in January!) So I would vote for going through the holidays.

Congrats on the DL 1/2! I bet it feels so good to finish something like that! I would love to do the WDW 1/2.

I'm so interested your art! I would love to check some of it out. Do you have pics? DH and I are looking for a tinkerbell for our room, but haven't quite found what we are looking for yet...

The 1/2 marathon is a great goal and with some practice can be "race-walked".

SURE - I love to do TINKERBELLS and have an entire Modern Pan series. And hey since you are on my BLUE TEAM - you get the family hook up. I don't want to advertise on here so just sent me a PM and I will hook you up with some photos.

I had a friend call and ask me to breakfast at a Deli here and I had the strength to say NO!! So I am sure this challenge has saved me a half a pound already!

I am in for any length of time. When does the TV show end?

Sasha

Good morning Blue Team!

I had a pretty good day yesterday. I stayed in calorie range (1500). I did 40 minutes of circuit training with my trainer and then 35 minutes on the eliptical. I did so horrible on food and exercise last week that it was a struggle to get back on track.

The one thing I did to prepare for this challenge is get a new eating plan from my trainer for some more ideas. Went to the market and stocked up on some healthy choices and told my co-worker that I couldn't do our 2 days a week of eating out for lunch.

What did you do to help you get ready for this challenge?

I joined up with sparkpeople right after I asked to join in. After I did that I made out the menu dinner for the whole month of September and went and did all of my shopping over the weekend, I made sure to buy low fat and fat free items! Even though I have a few meals that aren't the healthiest I have bought the fat free and low fat items to use in those meals.
I have a few other things but need to go check up on my daughter who is taking a nap!
As far as taking the contest through the holidays, I am all for that. We visit our families in Ohio during christmas break and I already told my mom that I am bringing my scale (either way) because she doesn't have one!!

Hi Teammates!

As far as what I did to prepare for this challenge honestly I did nothing. I was already sticking to a eating plan and exercising so I just continued that. I have a few bad things in the house for my neices but those little snacks don't tempt me much.

As far as how long to do the challenge - I would like to do it through the holidays but whatever the majority decides is fine with me either way.

Yesterday I ate healthy, drank all my water and did strength training with Bob (BL workout DVD)!

My goal is to lose this weight once and for all and live a healthier lifestyle (23.5 down 85 more to go). I want to be able to go to any store and buy cute clothes not in plus sizes. Maybe once I drop more weight I might even consider doing one of the Disney marathons!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! Keep up the good work! I know we can all achieve our goals!

Here's to us LOSERS! :drinking:

Michele

What did you do to help you get ready for this challenge?

I haven't done anything differently this week because of this challenge because for the last 3 months I've been on South Beach and doing very well with it, so I'm going to be continuing with that, as well as trying to incorporate some sort of additional exercise to each day.

:woohoo: :woohoo: GO BLUE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

i LOVE the humor -- i read panties the first couple times too!!! LOL

Oh thank goodness! I was afraid it was just me!:rotfl2:

What did you do to help you get ready for this challenge?

I made up my menu for dinner for about a month and a half. If everything goes well we can actually just keep rotating though that menu. I also finally got the stack of South Beach recipes I have been printing out and stacking up organized and in a binder so that I can actually find them and use them. I went shopping yesterday, but still need to get to Costco to buy meat tomorrow and to another store to get a better stock of fresh fruits and veggies. The green beans I bought at Walmart on Tuesday are already slimey :crazy2:

Hey team, I have another question for you regarding the challenge.

How long do you want the challenge to go?
So, any ideas?:confused3

I don't watch the show so it doesn't matter to me. I plan to be here for the long haul and the longer we can get accountability and support the better!

So I have good news and bad news.

Good News: My local YMCA has wireless access!!! I am DISing from the Y! I spend a lot of time there because my kids have swim team practice 4 nights a week and meets.

The bad news: My local YMCA has wireless access! So now I am DISing instead of working out!

Okay, I really wasn't going to work out tonight, I am going to plan on coming in the mornings starting next week. But I also could have worked out while they are in practice, but really by this time of day I am usually way to tired and sore to do much.

Haven't done great on eating today--to many carbs for the SB plan. But then again I still ate less junk than I usually do!
