So how did everyone like the reunion show? I thought it was pretty good. I liked seeing how they kept off alot of their weight. I wanted to see Amy's weight though, she looked fantastic! Even DH said Wow, she looks great! I thought the proposal was sweet! I was a little surprised they didn't have Matt and Suzy weigh in, because on the internet Biggest loser sight they have Matt and Suzy there at the ranch for the reunion. Maybe they gained back too much and didn't want them on?:confused3 There baby is a cutie pie! I like Alison Sweeney from Days of Our lives, she seemed a little nervous to me... but that is Samy Brady!:cool2: I felt pretty motivated after I saw some of the stories. I really liked how several of the contestants have gone on to help other people. That is awesome!

One thing I should tell you guys is that I actually went down to try out for the show! They had the tryouts on a Saturday though, and I work weekends. I still decided after work I would drive downtown (major city and I don't really do a lot of driving downtown there), got off my comfort zone and went to try and find the place. I found it, but they were done with the interviews... like 10 hours earlier! Oh well, I was still proud of myself for trying.

Loving the goals!

My short term goals:

3. to do something every single day that makes me proud of who I am and the healthy changes I am making

I really like that goal! That is awesome and I think I am going to incorporate that into my WW points journal. I will write down every day what I did that makes me proud of healthy changes and choices!

So far today I went to the gym and worked out on the treadmill and did the weight machines. I loved the treadmill this time. I got that endorphin feeling and loved it!

Hi BLUE team...so happy to lose weight with you all!! I am pretty new to the DIS (but not to Disney) and just found the WISH board and challenge last night. It is kinda meant to be b/c I have been feeling sooooo badly about my weight lately but haven't done much to change it... this is just the kick in my much too big tush that I need!

My name is Lorraine (37) and I am from NJ. I am married with 2 kids...Ryan will soon be 7 and Kayleigh is 2 1/2. This is THE heaviest I have ever been!:scared1: I did the same thing following the births of my kids... was housebound with a newborn in the winter, ate myself silly and before you know it weighed more than when I was 9 mos pregnant. Ya think I would have learned the first time, I vowed NEVER to do it again, but lo and behold, I am in the same boat. My daughter is 2 1/2 and I am still holding onto all the weight I put on in the year after she was born.

I started South Beach this morning and it is going well! I lost about 35 lbs on it right b/f I got pregnant with my daughter, then gained it back when I was pregnant, lost some after, gained the rest of it and then some after she was born.

My problem is my hate of exercise!! I've gotta come to realize that this isn't like when I was in my teens and 20's that I could lose w/o exercise. I have to do it or I don't lose any weight and I don't want to let my teammates down!;)

I am SO looking forward to losing weight with you all!

Lorraine

I have so many goals!

I want to...
1. choose clothes that I like, not just fit.
2. walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded
3. inspire my kids to be healthy
4. get off my BP meds
5. run in the Disney 1/2 marathon
6. Like seeing myself in my vacation pictures
7. Want to go to the neighborhood pool and not be embarassed
8. Not feel like everyone is looking at me because of my size
9. make my family proud
10. not worry if the chair will hold me
12 be able to fit into a movie theatre chair without squeeazing in
13 be able to ride any ride at any amusement park comfortably
14. not be sore and achy all of the time
15. feel sexy again!:woohoo:
16 have a fantasy boudouir photo shoot
17 play with my kids more
18 climb a mountain (DS wants to do this on a vacation)
19 go jogging again
20 inspire others with my success story!
21 ANd DON't Laugh.... but I want to be featured in a magazine as a success story!! I read so many stories of success, I want it to be my time!

:wave2: H-E-L-L-O TEAM!!! We are off to a good start, and with each others' support, each of us can do the best that we can to meet our goals!

I am Debbie, and I have been on DIS practically since the inception! But not as long as I have been battling the weight thing.

I, too, was one of the initial WISH Walkers 2005 group. To do that, I lost almost 75 pounds. I was SO proud of both accomplishments. And, while I have my memories, my Donald medal and pics above me, I must admit that I have gained almost every one of those pounds back.

NancyK is my sister, and maryliz, too. She signed up after us and ended up on the Red team, so we have to do well, or she will lord it over us!

I have five kids, ranging in age from 13 to 22. I teach Grades one and two, and the next few weeks are really emotionally exhausting for me, as we get back into the routine of full day schooling.

I am looking forward to this challenge! And I hope to say to each and every one of us....WEIGH to GO

:wave2: Hello Blue team!!! I am so excited to get started! It is nice to be with others with the same goals! I need all the support I can get !! It was great to see the show last night and hope we can all have even a portion of the success they all did!

princess: Vija ---tell DH that I hope someday to be the biggest loser you know!!:rotfl: Thanks for being our captain---I will be your Bob if you will be mine!

Does anyone have any tips for getting started? Did anyone go thru their pantries and empty them out?

My first step will be trying to drop the Coke Zero. I only had 1 today:woohoo: but that is one of the things they mentioned last night....so bring on the water!!

Hope to get to know you all more!!
Hey blue team!

wow, we certainly have great stories! Many of us have such similar stories, and some unique ones. But what we all have in common is that we want to get healthier!

Does anyone else feel the excitement like I do???:dance3: We are all in this together and I know we can support each other as we all become BIG LOSERS!

Got to tell you something funny! Diva Debi is a friend of mine, we live in the same hometown. Anyway, she called me up and said she was very excited because we were on the same team. As we were getting off I said something to the effect of "OK, ya Big LOSER!" And DH just about spit his water out and said "you can't say that" because that is not how I normally talk and he didn't quite know what was up! :lmao: Hi Diva Debi!:wave2:

LTS and SeaSpray, I have the same problem with Plantar Fascitis. I wear orthotics and I have some great New Balance shoes that really help. They are the only ones I can wear otherwise my feet are terrible. Right now since I weigh more than ever  my feet are very sore all the time. Especially on days that I work. But I know it will get better, and I look forward to that! HOpefully we will all feel physically better soon.

SLK537 I know what you mean about BOB! I just love his approach. He gets to know his team members, and THEN kicks them in the pants! LOL!

Thanks to everyone who has already sent me their starting weights. And thanks for the many thanks regarding being team captain. pirate: I appreciate it very much! I am so excited and thankfull for the opportunity. You will all be my inspirations and I know you will kick me in the pants, just like Bob! This is a great way to stay accountable to myself as well as a team.

Go Blue LOSERS!

I am trying to give up Diet Coke too after watching last night. Of course, I have a headache today and I normally only have one a day anyway, but so far it's just been water for me today.

:chat: hi team

i'm in the October anniversary club too :groom: :bride: October 28 will be our 12th anniversary this year

i wanted to finish off where i left off last night -- i found WISH in 2003, actually my mom (AEG) found it first. it was march, we had just booked a trip for 12/03, it was a land/sea trip for my fam, my parents and older brother were joining us for the 'land' portion at the Polynesian. it was like a DREAM vacation and we were soooo excited. but both of us disapppointed with where our weight was. i told her about the dis (i found it back in 1999) for trip planning, she told me about WISH. she was telling me how fun it would be to change our clippies as we shed pounds, and i was like ok, let's try it! that was back when WebmasterKathy was still KathyTX and Kelsie was a moderator here  Mom and i were both VERY successful doing WW on our own, and had a great PM buddy group for our accountability and encouragment, we still email with them :goodvibes i look at christmas pictures from that year and think -- THAT is where i want to be again!

i kept most of it off in 2004, and then in Jan 2005, we too were honored to be a part of the first WISH WDW 1/2 marathoning group! is was AWESOME! :donald: hi team canada! :donald: i put on a little weight with the holidays and then a trip to WDW....well over 2004-2007 i have managed to pack back on 15 lbs. i know that is not horrible and i think that is why i keep gaining here and there and never really taking it back off. i can rationalize any 5 lb gain, but now that i have done that three times it's just not comfortable in my jeans! i finally broke down and bought new jeans a size up and that was tough. my WISH clippie represents the weight i have still kept off from my original start weight in March 2003, at one time i had the 25 lb clippie.

so my goals are to lose weight that i need to so that i can pick out what i'm wearing based on what seems like a fun thing to wear today -- not what i think i can squeeze my hips into

i have a tire around my middle that just like rolls out when i sit down -- i want that GONE!

ok -- i have chatted enough -- i'll share fitness goals tomorrow popcorn::

:

Hey LTS, I share your affliction!! :( Plantar fasciitis. It's to the point where I have to rent a scooter when we go to WDW. I just got a third cortisone injection into my heel last week; the third since May. The shots are giving me very little relief, and I'm waiting for my custom orthotics to come in. I have a feeling that I'll end up needing surgery :( Because of this problem, I'm doing NO exercise except for my everyday walking at work and at home. I do walk a good amount at work, but sometimes once I get home I have to get right off my feet.

:

I remember SeaSpray--I talked to you when you were nervous about going in for your first shot. Wow, you have had 3 shots in this short of time? I have had 4 but they were spaced out over almost 2 years. I am so sorry the shots aren't working, they ususally do help a lot for most people, but I am also one of the resistant ones. I had cryosurgery in April, which is more "minor" than the complete release surgery and has a good success rate. But again, it didn't work on me and in fact I got worse. Not sure what my next step is, except I am going to get a 2nd opinion and try to get some weight off and see if that helps.

Keep in mind that if you have the resources of a gym you can probably still do some weight lifing type exercises that are very good for you and won't hurt your feet, and there is always water activities like aerobics and lap swimming. Even walking in the water is easier on the feet and can help.

Does anyone have any tips for getting started? Did anyone go thru their pantries and empty them out?

!!

Okay, I am really tired. I had to read this about 4 times because I kept missing the "R" in that word!

I told my DH I was entereing a Biggest Loser challenge and he wanted to know why I needed a challenge to prove that to myself! :lmao: Okay, he really is a great guy, but I am known for actually LOSING things a lot so he really found that quite funny!

Looks like we are posting our goals. I will need to work on that tomorrow, but my biggest goal is to take the weight off my poor abused feet and no longer need crutches, a cane or a wheelchair to get around. I want to go back to standing, walking and running on both of my feet without excruciating pain. That is my goal/hope/prayer.

I, too, was one of the initial WISH Walkers 2005 group. To do that, I lost almost 75 pounds. I was SO proud of both accomplishments. And, while I have my memories, my Donald medal and pics above me, I must admit that I have gained almost every one of those pounds back.

Hearing about all of the original WISH walkers really inspires me/ and saddens me. I had signed up to do that, and help organize it and I fell off the wagon and didn't do it.:sad2: This is one of my biggest regrets. I just read on the CB today that people usually regret more in life what they didn't do, rather than what they did do. And I am finding in my case that is very true. I have procrastinated a long time with this weight issue and I don't want any more regrets of what I didn't do! It's time to enjoy this ride called life and get in the game!

I NancyK is my sister, and maryliz, too. She signed up after us and ended up on the Red team, so we have to do well, or she will lord it over us!

WEIGH to GO

I didn't know you have 2 sisters on the DIS! THat is awesome! OK, well then we really have to do well, sibling rivalry has been added to the pot!:stir:

Sorry I am late in posting but, teams were not posted before I went to work yesterday, I got home late and then the boards were poof, gone this morning.

Hi my name is Becky. I am 25 and from PA. I am frantically packing to leave Friday morning for Florida. I will not return until the 23rd. I have one more day of work left before I leave for 2 weeks on the Magic.:cool1: :dance3: :yay:

I recognize several of you from last year's Biggest Loser challenge. GOOO Blue

I am within the lowest 5 pounds I have been since sometime in Junior high. I have lost about 65 pounds and would like to lose another 35.:cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

I plan on increasing my exercise and eating healthy and increasing my water intake. I was doing pretty good until I started traveling for work in February through April, as I was also working on a Master's degree in Nonprofit management. I started a new job in July and have about a 2 hour commute each day which has cut into my exercise time each day and is more sedentary then my old job. I need to get back on the band wagon.

However I am going to try my darnedest to not gain on my cruise. I will definitely be more active but the food is what might hurt me there. We shall see, although I am definitely doing the stairs, snorkeling, I might even hit the gym.

Back to packing. Let's just say it is one of my least favorite things, I would actually rather be exercising.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Blue

:wave2: Hello Blue team!!!
princess: Vija ---tell DH that I hope someday to be the biggest loser you know!!:rotfl:

I'll tell him! It was really funny to see his expression! I hope you will be... along with the rest of this fantastic blue team!

Thanks for being our captain---I will be your Bob if you will be mine!

I'd love to! That sounds really funny though! If someone else was reading this...:rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Does anyone have any tips for getting started? Did anyone go thru their pantries and empty them out?

My first step will be trying to drop the Coke Zero. I only had 1 today:woohoo: but that is one of the things they mentioned last night....so bring on the water!!

I am trying to give up Diet Coke too after watching last night. Of course, I have a headache today and I normally only have one a day anyway, but so far it's just been water for me today.

I went through my cupboards the night before and threw out the chips. I had single servings of Stax still in there, and I have been good only eating 1 single serving a day, but the big bags had to go!

The soda thing got me too. I drink caffeine free diet coke. Once I was trying to get a free soda from a vendor at work (yes, I was successful! ) and when I told him what I drink, his comment was "why bother?" I just really like the taste, but I know it isn't doing me any favors.

2 things to add to this regarding soda that might help others...

#1 A lady that teaches fitness stuff told me that diet soda has something that actually inhibits weight loss. It has something to do with the sweetener and that it does something. I never really researched it, but was food for thought.

#2 someone at work just had gastric bypass surgery and she said she is not allowed to drink soda anymore. Because the bubbles would expand her stomach! That made me think that maybe it is helping keep my stomach expanded and that I want to eat more... drink more... more bubbles... bigger stomach...eat more...drink more.... etc...

something to think about....:upsidedow

Okay, I am really tired. I had to read this about 4 times because I kept missing the "R" in that word!

I had to read what you wrote a couple of times and then I figured out what word you thought had the missing "R"!

I told my DH I was entereing a Biggest Loser challenge and he wanted to know why I needed a challenge to prove that to myself! :lmao: Okay, he really is a great guy, but I am known for actually LOSING things a lot so he really found that quite funny!

Now stop being so funny!:rotfl: I nearly spit out my soda on our new computer when I read what your DH said! :lmao:

Happy Wednesday Blue Team!!!

I'm just checking in tonight to say hi to all! Hoping everything went well for you all on Day Two and here's to a great Day Three!!

Jenn.

Hi Becky! I hope you have a fantastic time! 2 weeks on the Magic! I am soooo jealous!!!!! I loved our time on the Magic. We celebrated our 15th anniversary there and it was truly magical!!! I hope you give us a full trip report! Are you celebrating anything special? Are you doing the Eastern and the Western? I would LOVE to do 2 weeks on that gorgeous ship. My favorite part is hearing the horn as you leave Port that first evening. That is one of the best sounds on earth!

Congrats on that weight loss! That is awesome!

Okay, I am really tired. I had to read this about 4 times because I kept missing the "R" in that word!

Ok, I just got busted drinking another soda because I spit all over when I read that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have been doing Spark and lost 37lbs since January. I had a little health scare and have been really trying to get healthy. I like Spark because you can log what you eat and it subtracts your calories for you. :teacher: It sets a small goal--like drinking water and teaches you about the benefits vs. soda. The artificial sweetner does not fool your body--it still stores it like a sugar. Also the caffeine stimulates your appetite. I am down to about 2 sodas now a day--which is much better then my 7 or 8 I was just a few days ago.

I will be married for 15yrs on the 19th and have a son (12) and a daughter (7). I live in Wisconsin---but plan to go South when the kids are grown up!! Walking has really helped me to lose weight....which I do almost everyday. I would like to lose another 37lbs. I think since I did it once, I can do it again!!! I have to psych myself out by splitting it up, but whatever works!! :confused3

Well enough babbling! Hope you all had a great day---have a happy Thursday!

Debi:love:

I have already started a pre-trip report. It is available here. I have also added a link to my signature.

Just checking in. Hope everyone is staying on program, so we can make the Blue Team a bunch of losers.

I kept my eating in check and got in my exercise today.

Because of this problem, I'm doing NO exercise except for my everyday walking at work and at home. I do walk a good amount at work, but sometimes once I get home I have to get right off my feet.

Paraplegic here :wave2:SeaSpray, I am here to tell you that you do NOT need use of your feet or legs to exercise. There are a TON of exercises/cardio you can do while sitting. Don't let not being able to walk or stand stop you from exercising. Warning, tough love ahead: saying things like that is just an excuse.

As a full-time wheelchair user, I have been doing some sweaty, butt-kicking workouts for the past 2 years. I haven't stood on my feet in over 20 years. Trust me, you can do it. If you want some help or ideas, feel free to PM me. I would be happy to share some of the things I do with you.
