Hey Teamies!

My name is Michele. I am 29, single, best aunt to two wonderful neices and I live in Pittsburgh, PA (STEELER Country)! I have been overweight all my life. Everytime I lost weight I would put it right back on. In mid July I restarted my journey to a thinner healthier me! I do not want to be fat in my 30's! I would like to lose 100 lbs, maybe more, and I am already down 22 lbs! I started out doing Nutrisystem and exercising 6 - 7 days a week. Now I am just watching my portions and calories. I try to still work out 6-7 days a week but sometimes life gets in the way. For exercise I walk, do the BL workout tapes (I love Bob), my elliptical and sometimes I play tennis with my mom (we are not very good but it is great exercise and we have fun).

Princess - Do you want us to post the photos of ourselves here? And how often do you want us to do updated photos?

Good luck to all of you on becoming healthier versions of ourselves!

The Blue Team Rocks!

Michele

So I was wondering if anyone will be watching Biggest Loser tonight? :happytv:

I plan on watching BL tonight! My daughter is going through a stage of not wanting to go to bed at 8pm. And so I catch her playing in her room instead of laying in bed:cloud9: . So who knows how much of the show I will catch!

Hi Team,
I first joined WISH way back in February of 2003 and lost 50 pounds that year. I was part of the first WISH group who did the 1/2 marathon in January 2005. I have never participated in anything athletic so it was an awesome experience for me. It was so much fun meeting all of our WISHWALKERS at Trails End. I felt so good that I vowed I would never gain back my weight and that I would keep up with the walking. Well - I have stopped exercising and gained back all 50 pounds (plus a couple more). :confused3 I'm tired all the time and I have leg and hip pain, so it's time to get rid of this weight once and for all! I'm heading to Disney on the 15th for free dining, so this month is going to be a challenge. I usually count WW points.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! GO BLUE!

Hi, Blue Team!

A little about me:
My name is Lindsay. I am 29 years old and I am from Cleveland, Tennessee. I have been married 3 1/2 years to my wonderful husband, Scott. I love to cook, sing, read, and journal (<--- I really need to work on that one though, I've gotten lazy).

What program are you following:
First and foremost, I believe everything in moderation. I cannot give something totally up for good because I end up binging on it and ruining my success. I'm kinda/sorta following a plan. It's the Trim Advantage Plan. You basically eat every 2 hours, small meals, and never let yourself get to "starving."

About a month ago I bought a Pur water pitcher and the water is so dang good I have drinking a ton more of it. So that's a start.

My main vice is eating just because I can. Pathetic, isn't it?

What are you doing for exercise:
As far as exercise, for the past 2 years I have been working with a trainer. She recently went on maternity leave so I had to say goodbye to that studio (LONG story). So I went and bought my own equipment to use and work out myself. I do a combo of cardio and strength training using bands, balls, dumbbells, and boxing.

Anything else you'd like to share?
Just something personal you might want to know about this teammate (if you didn't know already), I am a paraplegic. I was injured in a car wreck involving a drunk driver in 1984. So I am wanting to get my weight off for my health's sake, not just for my appearance.

If you have questions about my disability, please don't hesitate to ask me. I'm not shy :)

Let's get this party started! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi fellow Blue Teammates!!!

My name is Veronica. I am 36 (soon to be 37) and married and have a DD age 7 (soon to be 8). I am a dental hygienist and have been struggling with my weight for almost 20 years. Last Dec when we went to WDW I decided I had had enough of being fat and was going to get healthy once and for all. I started WW on 2/1/07 and have lost 42 lbs to date. I run 6 days per week, averaging 14 miles per week. I am planning on getting back into the gym next week now that DD is back to school (tomorrow). I want to lose 58 more pounds, but I will see how I look and feel on the way. I have not been below 150 since high school.

I am looking forward to this challenge and hoping that we all succeed!!

GO BLUE TEAM!!!

Hi teammates!! :wave2:

Ok, here's a brief history on my weight problem: I was not overweight as a child at all, in fact my nickname used to be "Toothpick Terry" I didn't gain weight during my 2 pregnancies, but I did gain some when I first became a stay at home mom. Then when I moved from NJ to MA 10 years ago, I gained a LOT. I gained about 65 pounds. A couple of times during the last 10 years I tried to lose weight, but I never stuck with it past losing maybe 10 pounds or so. In the last few years I hadn't even bothered to try. That is, until June 1st of this year when I started the South Beach Diet. I've lost 23.5 pounds in the last 3 months, and I'm going strong. I'm ready to continue my weight loss efforts with all of you, now :)

I'm 46 years old and happily married, with 2 DSs, ages 19 and 16. I was a SAHM until a year ago. Since then I've been working 30 hours a week in a finance office. I work with nice people and I like my job, and it's been great having my co-workers' support for the last 3 months during our company's Biggest Loser contest. It was even nicer to be officially declared the winner this morning! :thumbsup2

My DH has been doing South Beach with me too, so I have total support at home, as well as at work.

I'd like to lose 50 pounds, in addition to the almost-25 that I've already lost, although honestly I'll be thrilled to lose another 25. :sunny: That's actually my current goal, but I'm hoping to be motivated enough to continue once I get to that point.

Hey LTS, I share your affliction!! :( Plantar fasciitis. It's to the point where I have to rent a scooter when we go to WDW. I just got a third cortisone injection into my heel last week; the third since May. The shots are giving me very little relief, and I'm waiting for my custom orthotics to come in. I have a feeling that I'll end up needing surgery :( Because of this problem, I'm doing NO exercise except for my everyday walking at work and at home. I do walk a good amount at work, but sometimes once I get home I have to get right off my feet.

Anyway, on a brighter note, I am so happy to meet all of you and can't wait to see where this contest leads us all!!! :sunny: I KNOW we will all succeed!!!! :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I am 32. I have been very happily married for 12 years and have three little boys (7,5,and 2). I work at home running a daycare/preschool, and I absolutely love it! I have been in the early childhood field for about 12 years now.
I have always been slightly overweight, then a few years after I married and DH and I were trying to have kids, the weight began piling on (a lot of emotional eating). Then it just became more and more as I had each child, and now I am 140 heavier than I was when I got married. ACK! That's a whole person!!:scared1:

So I am now logging all food and exercise onto FitDay. I'm trying to keep my daily caloric intake at 1500-1700. I have just started walking each day, but have not been able to do much continuous so far. In junior high and high school, I was very involved in athletics, especially softball, and really enjoyed running. I would love to be able to eventually run a 1/2 marathon (or at least a walk/jog). I'm shooting for 2009 for this.

I love to read, scrapbook (though I haven't in a while), and my newfound obsession is cake decorating (I try to feed the cake to everyone else!)

I look forward to getting to know everyone here better!

HELLO BLUE TEAM!!!

I'm Beth, and I've been married to DH for 10yrs now. I have a DD, Kate, who is 7. I am a nurse working in an outpatient surgery center three days a week. I have always struggled to maintain my weight, but I ballooned after having lost my second child.

I have been following WW since the end of May. I am down 32 pounds, but I still have 70 to lose. I currently go to the Y for cardio and weight circuits. I have a puppy that helps me add the mileage also.

I look forward to getting to know all of you as this progresses. Keep up the great work guys.
Beth

:flower3: wow this is a great team!

honestly all, i'm tired so this is going to be short. i keep checking the clock to get to my bedroom and in my jammies by 9 p.m.

thanks for everyone's patience as i edited and re-edited the post and teams today trying to get everyone in the right place! i think i'm updated now :confused3

my name is Molli -- i'm 35, and mainly a SAHM to my beautiful DDs ages 15 and nearly 11. My oldest is a sophmore in HS and my youngest is a 5th grader. Last May i took a 'contingent' position at my husband's employers "Wellness Center" which includes a fab state of the art Fitness Center (FC), a pharmacy and a medical office which includes dietary, physical therapy and x-ray. i'm an x-ray tech. i fill in for the 2 regular techs when they need a day off.

i've been married for almost 12 years to a wondeful and I think darn cute husband, we met through a mutual friend.

i like to scrapbook and bake/cook. we remodeled our kitchen last year and i have all the room and cool appliances to do so; but it has helped me put some poundage back on. well i think i'll save the weight journey for tomorrow................

good night and i'm just so tickled to be with such a fantastic group! :yay:

Hey there Blue Team!!!!!

I just wanted to point out how Blue Team we really are - doesn't Bob always start out by trying to get to know everyone first? :rotfl: I think that is one of the reasons I like him so much. I am SO happy to be BLUE!

My name is Jenn and I am 35 years old. My DH and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in October and we have a wonderful little DS who just started Kindergarten today and will be 6 in a few weeks.

I have PCOS and have struggled with my weight since that happy time that is puberty. I have tried many diets over the course of time and had some really great success with Low Carb. I loved it - but the drawback was that when I finally went "off" after 18 months, I couldn't get back on. I loved the food and I loved the weight loss, but I hated the inflexibility. So I gained it all back...argh. I did do some exercise with it, but not much. I have a pretty sedentary job as a mid level manager in front of a computer all day so it's easy to get lazy.

This summer after a trip to WDW in May, I decided I was going to try WW points and I LOVE it! I love that I can have anything I want with portion control. I love that if I were to go over on my points, I have the flex points to cover it. I love that after 5 weeks I got up and got moving and now I am getting addicted to exercising.

So what do I do? I walk outside - usually 20 minutes at a higher intensity and then 20 at a moderate. I have begun short jogs in the middle of the higher intensity walks and it is great! I also do 2 pound arm weights for repetition, as I am determined to go sleeveless on our next vacation in November. I also have been doing 15 minutes on our newest torture device - the elliptical that DH and I have nicknamed The Demon. I hate the first 5 minutes, but I am hitting a stride now after that and it feels great. I have become used to feeling tired and achy muscles all over all the time.

I am so very excited about this challenge - I started watching the show this summer and it has been so inspiring to me. I have a few songs on my iPod from the soundtrack and I absolutely have to listen to Proud every single time I work out. I don't really have anyone here who is taking this journey with me - my best friend is going through her own issues, DH doesn't really get into this - so I am so very excited to meet new friends here who have the same goals as I do. I have support here at home, just no one who knows what I am doing to and for myself.

Can we all talk about what our goals are? I would really like to hear what you all are working towards and what your inspiration is to do this. And not necessarily pounds lost - but things like going sleeveless, walking a marathon, etc.

Looking forward to the journey!!!

GO BLUE!!!!

(Oh and lest anyone wonder why I'm on the computer posting while The Show is about to start...well...I am too impatient to sit through the commercials so I have it paused on the DVR and I'll start it in 10 minutes so I can FF through them....;) )

slk537-

My DH and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in October

Me and my DH too! On the 18th. When is yours?

Can we all talk about what our goals are? I would really like to hear what you all are working towards and what your inspiration is to do this. And not necessarily pounds lost - but things like going sleeveless, walking a marathon, etc.

I would love to run the half marathon at WDW. I would love to wear a bikini. I want to avoid having diabetes (which there is a strong family history of) for as long as humanly possibe, or never get it at all. I want to stop taking my HBP meds. I really want to get my belly button pierced when my tummy is flat! (I know the last one sounds crazy, but DH is okay with it, and it just seems like something cool, skinny girls get to do!)

Hey blue team!

wow, we certainly have great stories! Many of us have such similar stories, and some unique ones. But what we all have in common is that we want to get healthier!

Does anyone else feel the excitement like I do???:dance3: We are all in this together and I know we can support each other as we all become BIG LOSERS!

Got to tell you something funny! Diva Debi is a friend of mine, we live in the same hometown. Anyway, she called me up and said she was very excited because we were on the same team. As we were getting off I said something to the effect of "OK, ya Big LOSER!" And DH just about spit his water out and said "you can't say that" because that is not how I normally talk and he didn't quite know what was up! :lmao: Hi Diva Debi!:wave2:

LTS and SeaSpray, I have the same problem with Plantar Fascitis. I wear orthotics and I have some great New Balance shoes that really help. They are the only ones I can wear otherwise my feet are terrible. Right now since I weigh more than ever  my feet are very sore all the time. Especially on days that I work. But I know it will get better, and I look forward to that! HOpefully we will all feel physically better soon.

SLK537 I know what you mean about BOB! I just love his approach. He gets to know his team members, and THEN kicks them in the pants! LOL!

Thanks to everyone who has already sent me their starting weights. And thanks for the many thanks regarding being team captain. pirate: I appreciate it very much! I am so excited and thankfull for the opportunity. You will all be my inspirations and I know you will kick me in the pants, just like Bob! This is a great way to stay accountable to myself as well as a team.

Go Blue LOSERS!

My goals:

To get off of, or at least lower, the blood pressure medication that I'm currently taking.

To inspire my family to eat healthier.

To not worry about being uncomfortable in an airplane seat.

To ward off as many health problems that I can possibly ward off.

and last but not least... to LOOK better. :3dglasses

GO BLUE TEAM!!

Hi! I am Christa (if you couldn't tell that by my username). I am 35 single parent of two teenage girls (14 & 16). I started my wieght loss journey in mid-December. Since then I have lost 67.2 lbs or 28.35% of my starting weight. I have been doing my own thing which basically means making better foods choices but I have not totally eliminated any foods from my diet. I do outdoor walking and Leslie Sansone's indoor walking (WATP, Walk Slim) nearly every day.

I am hoping to do the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon next year as a way to celebrate turning 40. My main goal is to hit 40 at a healthy weight.

Loving the goals!

Veronica - our #10 is October 11 - 10-11-97  Sounds like DH and I were on our Disneymoon the day you got married!!

My short term goals:

1. to be up to 30 minutes at a time three times a week on the elliptical by 9-30
2. to be down two more sizes by our Thanksgiving vacation
3. to do something every single day that makes me proud of who I am and the healthy changes I am making

Long term:

1. I really want to be ready to do the ToT run/walk next year if they have it again
2. I want to do a local 5K race in the upcoming year
2. I want to do the WDW half marathon either in 2009 or 2010.

And on the frivolous side?

to go sleeveless at WDW! I have been walking outside and wearing tank tops so my upper arms are getting some color for probably the first time since I was 7. I WILL wear a tank top at Disney at the parks, not just the pool.

Hello BLUE!!

I'm Kelli, been married to Craig for 14 years. We have 2 princess: Kaelyn, who is almost 13 and Stephanie who will be 6 next month. I've been on WW before and it worked till I got to about 20 pounds gone. Then I kind of hit the plateau and took a turn for the worse. I am at my heaviest weight ever. :( But anyway, I hope to improve my stamina as well as lose weight. :yay:

:cheer2: :cheer2: GO BLUE!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
