Birthday trip????September 2013????

Welcome Mo! As a very proud mama, I had tears in my eyes and went around telling everyone I saw that was my baby singing. As my kids would tell you, I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever - and I have 2 left feet, but I can appreciate the talent of others!

I just figured you were being held hostage in your sewing room....

I hope to have another update this weekend. Still not much going on planning for THIS trip, but we are planning another one for next year ... and the year after....

Sometimes a more laid back approach to a trip is better I'm glad you're posting again I have been reading the updates you post on other threads about Kat She is continuously in my prayers Very much looking forward to meeting you & Charlie :wave2:

We tend to have a very laid back approach to WDW. I know there are things we have not seen or done, but the plan is that we will be able to go again to see what we've missed. I'm not a "commando" type of person. I'm going to be on vacation and I want to be able to enjoy myself without wearing out. I've never been to a rope drop and didn't even know such a thing existed until recently. We go at our own pace and have lots of fun.

Kat had another good day today - that's 2 in a row! She was able to get a real shower but was bummed that she could not shave her legs.

I have done a rope drop but not often believe me I'm not a commando type either I had to be that way too often in earlier life as a single Mom, FT worker, FT college student and kids both involved in twirling competitions ( all at the same time) I could swear I saw myself passing myself on the road

Vacation is NOT for that I plan and I like to meet people but I never understood having the "have to do it all, have to see it all" way of thinking The place has been there since 1971 not going anywhere I still find new things to see Vacationing other places I like slow easy off the beaten path lets see what's down this road way of thinking

Thank God for this news :goodvibes now if she is worrying about hairy legs that is a sure sign she is well on the road to recovery :thumbsup2

Today is my baby girl's birthday! She is 26 years old and I swear I don't know where that time went. I still picture her as a five year old, riding her tricycle in the driveway with a Burger King crown on her head and her "baby" in a backpack. I have to find that picture and scan it!

In the meanwhile, here is a picture of both my girls, Shannon is the shorter one, at my son's wedding. The girls were bridesmaids.

The back of the dresses:

And, singing kareoke with the bride and maid of honor. Shannon and Kate (my oldest dd) changed out of their bridesmaid dresses and both wore royal blue dresses throughout the reception (after pictures were taken, of course).

Ok, so photobucket is not cooperating right now. I'll try to add the pictures when I get home.
In addition, Shannon wore flipflops and Kate wore her silver sparkle Chuck Taylors. Their dad wore his orange CTs.

The kids used to ask me to stop singing in church! And, I can barely walk a straight line without chewing gum! :rotfl2:

Not sure yet, either September (my favorite time of year) or right before or right after Thanksgiving - but probably September...

I was a single parent for about 10 years, with 4 kids running here and there. I was a gs leader, a cubscout leader and I was advancement chair for both cubs and boy scouts, then a Band Aide for 13 years - one of which I didn't even have any kids in the high school! I had absolutely no life between August and November for basically 13 years, but I'd go back in a heartbeat!

We invited the in-laws to stay over the 4th of July weekend. Do you see the look of panic on my face? Am I crazy - 5 adults, 1 baby and 3 dogs....?????

Actually it won't be too bad, and saves US from driving across the state this time.

My first reaction was "Oh No" ! for you then I immediately felt some jealousy have to admit it

There's not much of my family left, eldest is my Aunt and when her time comes then I am the matriach (God that term makes me feel like 100 yrs old) sisters & brothers scattered all over the country who is not talking to whom you know how that goes I MISS the family so consider all the blessings AND you don't have to drive ..added bonus :cool1: It will be a great time

Oh Ruthie, I'm surrounded by most of my family - My brothers and sister and their families and tons of cousins live within 15 miles of me, except for my oldest brother who lives in Hawaii, and my kidlets who are a bit scattered (one in NYC, one in Pittsburgh, and one in Baltimore - which is really just down the road) my older son and his wife live about 4 miles from me. My parents and most of my aunts and uncles are gone. I have one aunt and uncle that live in South Carolina, one aunt in Baltimore and one aunt and cousins in Louisville, KY. My dh has one sister and a couple of nieces and nephews. I am blessed to be so near and close to family. There are always some that aren't speaking to others, but I don't let that bother me. Everyone is invited and if they choose not to participate, that's on them, not me. Besides I can't keep that stuff straight any more.:rotfl2:

When my brother moved to Hawaii, he told me that I was now the matriarch of the family. Not a mantle I relish much. I would much prefer that he comes back and takes over again!

Like around Sept 3rd?!?!? :hyper:

More than likely, we will go early in September - its my favorite time, so the chances of us being there at the same time are good. I'm hoping for some type of bounceback. DH wants to go, so even if we don't get one, we will probably be going again. I swear, he is just a big kid at heart.

OH YAY!!!!! I'm so happy!!!

breathing some life back into your PTR :rotfl: been keeping up with you on the threads though and thanks for jumping onto mine God Bless Kat wheelchair races (saw on D's thread :) ) amazing news !!

Thanks for keeping up with me Ruthie! I've been very remiss in posting, but I do finally have some Disney news! We booked the dessert party for 9/11! YAHOO! I've been checking every single day seems like and it finally opened today.

I've also been busy making custom shirts for dh and me - I need to take some pics and post them. I've also been working on his costume for the MNSSHP we are going to on 9/13. That's the night before we leave and I want to go out with a bang!

I haven't started mine because I'm hoping to go down a size before I need to start on it. If that hasn't happened by the end of this month, then I will just go with my current size.

On that note, I plan to start on the Couch to 5K training this evening when I go to the gym.

Good for you with the couch to 5K all exercise for me has had a setback but I am going to try again soon Right now all I am doing is reading I got Jeff Galloways Run-Walk-Run book Can't wait to see your finished projects and hope as time gets closer we can figure out a DisMeet like we talked about any day but Mon/Tues usually works for me :thumbsup2

Only 45 days until my trip - it just can't come fast enough, but once it does, my summer will pretty much be over. Which makes me sad, since summer is my favorite season - yes even with all the heat and humidity!

I called WDW this morning, just to double check that my balance owned was $0. My Disney Experience shows that I have a balance owing of about $2500, which I know is not correct, but I needed to double check just for my own peace of mind. Actually my balance shows that Disney owes me 20 cents. :rotfl2:

I spent yesterday sewing the pants for Charlie's pirate costume. They are probably the stupidest pair of pants I've ever made. Going to have to redo them. Not sure what the pattern maker was going for there, but they absolutely do not hang properly - at all - and I'm not sure I can fix them. It will be easier to just start over.

Ha ha - will have to get Charlie to put them on again and take a picture. These pants must have been designed for someone with a huge butt - which is not Charlie! He has the flattest butt around and as a result they are really saggy!

So I have to take a break from my walking/running program, at least until Wednesday. I did a number on my knee - though I'm not really sure what is going on with it. I'm going to see an orthopedist Wed. morning. I hope its nothing serious, but I don't want it getting worse - I need to be able to walk around the World!

I hope your knee gets better! 3 going on 4 surgeries here..So your pants sounds as if they will fit ME!!!
