Birthday trip????September 2013????

I sure hope everything is OK with your knee... And yikes on the pants - they sound very strange.

D~

Dr thinks it's just a bone bruise - nothing overly serious. No sign of arthritis and the joint looks good. Good news! He told me I could keep doing the C to 5K, but to go back to Week 1 and start over. More good news!

Here is the shirt and vest for Charlie's pirate costume:

I haven't taken a picture of the stupid saggy pants yet....

Here are our Cars shirts:

And, here is another bag I made to take to the parks:

It has a pocket for a water bottle, a zippered pocket on the front and another zipper pocket on the inside as well as a slip in pocket on the inside.

The picture I took of the inside of the bag did not turn out well, so I need to take another one.

I really need to make a list of what I still need to make for our trip. We are down to 41 days and I don't get so sew much during the week. My weekends are slowly dwindling too. I'm going to Pittsburgh this weekend to visit with my ds and his fiancé. I plan to leave from work and head up to the turnpike. I figure it will take about 4 - 4 1/2 hours - if I don't get lost:blush:

So here is a start on my to do list:

Remake pants for C's pirate costume
Make blouse, vest and pants for my pirate costume
Tie dye 2 t-shirts
Make a couple of skorts for me (not totally necessary, but I would like some new ones to wear.
Decide if I need to embroider any more t-shirts

I will have my tablet with me, so I should be able to keep up and not fall too far behind.

I love lists... I had one at one point... but now it's burned into my retinas - so not necessary. :rolleyes1

Now, my packing list - that is a whole 'nother matter... Usually what I do, is I make a carry-on list... So each of us has the same thing in our carry ons. That bag is the "stow" bag and we don't open it for any reason while we are traveling... It just has extra clothes basically. Then our 2nd bag has our items to keep us happy in the air... books, magazines... Or in the girls' case - Ipods. :thumbsup2

I usually give the girls each a packing list and they are in charge of packing their suitcases... Hopefully they leave me some room in them... :scared:

So very curious what pattern you are using for the skorts... I love skorts, don't have any, but I might be able to squeese a pair or two in for the NEXT trip. LOL

Sorry for the ramble this morning... :rolleyes1

I'm a list FREAK!!! Only because of my forgetful nature... :rolleyes2
Honestly I have a list of what need to go, need to buy etc.. My excel sheet has about 15 tabs to it!!! :thumbsup2

I am an organize freak... which just goes back to my forgetfulness!
What was your name again??? :scratchin

I'm back! Very short trip to Pittsburgh (I live on the other side of the state!), but I had a wonderful time visiting with my kids! It rained almost the entire time I was there, so that kind of limited our activities, but that was ok since I wanted to see them. This was only the second time since Christmas that I've seen them. We spent most of the weekend watching baseball! It was a fantastic way to spend the time. My son is a statistician with the Pirates - think Jonas HIll in Moneyball. We have some lively discussions about different players and teams.

Ok, so since I was gone all weekend, I accomplished nothing on my list :rotfl: which means I need to get busy during the week if I want to get it all accomplished on time.

Throw in a cookout over Labor Day weekend (and a birthday celebration!) and I'm going to be a busy bee.

I also have to put together not one but two presentations for a workshop next week for work. Guess I should get back to work then....

:cool1::cool1::cool1:YAY! We got Mickey Mail yesterday! Our DME luggage tags and tickets were waiting patiently in my mail box when I got home from work!

I also pulled out the suitcases and put them on the guest room beds. I plan to wash the t-shirts I've been working on this weekend and then put them directly into the suitcases. Don't want to forget any of them.

Plan for this weekend:

Make tie dye Mickey shirts
Spray paint a collector box frame (I have an autographed Ray Lewis jersey)
Re-make stupid, saggy pirate pants for dh
Start on my pirate costume
Start on my skorts - the pattern is a Kwik-sew pattern that I had to order on-line - I just googled skort patterns. I couldn't find any in the stores - either a pattern or skorts :confused3

Decide if I need to make any more t-shirts for us -maybe one or two???

I was going through some old pictures tonight and came across some vintage Disney pictures I thought I'd share with you.

Here is a picture of the Castle from 1977

This is my younger brother Steve. He had just graduated from Navy basic training - 1977

Here is a picture of the Contemporary resort circa 1977

This picture is of my oldest son, Steven, at Disneyland 1982. He was 1 year old.

This is my oldest daughter, Kate, also at Disneyland, 1982. She was 3 years old.

Looks like photobucket is not cooperating today. I did rotate all of these pictures. Sorry.

Oooh - I LOVE vintage Disney photos!!! My first trip wasn't until 2003 - so hardly vintage at all... These are spectacular!!! It's so fun to see how Disney has evolved into what it is now... Your kids are just adorable Tess!!! And so little... Thanks so much for sharing!

:cool1: yeah for Mickey Mail very exciting to see my friends getting the real start to the trips, there's a bunch of you now :goodvibes

LOVE the pictures ! Good luck with the sewing especially the saggy pirate pants re-do :thumbsup2

Charlie and I took the two younger kids to WDW in February, 2002.

Andrew was 16 and Shannon was 14

This is Andrew & me:

Army guys!

EPCOT sign

Cruella de Ville

And one more, although this one was taken at Universal in 2004 - this is Shannon and me.

No pictures today.

I did get a picture of the stupid, saggy pants, but still need to upload it. I managed to fix them rather than having to redo them totally. And then I finished them, buttons and all.

I started on my vest. Need to go get more eyelets since I managed to mangle most of the ones I had. Grrrrr...... I have some hand sewing to do, but then my vest will be finished. Still need to make the shirt and pants.

I washed all of the t-shirts I've embroidered so far and put them into the suitcases.

One month from today!

Also, Kat goes in for her heart procedure on Wednesday. She has been doing fantastically so far, so if you could say an extra prayer for her, it would be welcome.

Thanks,

T

Good Morning Tess

Kat is always on the prayer list but it will be "stepped up" on Wednesday She'll
be fine

:cheer2: yeah for ONE month so exciting !!
