I am sending you a PM with my email address and phone numbers Let the Planning Begin :cheer2:

Trying to get sewing projects done in between household stuff. We bought 2 rocking chairs that match our patio furniture, and its my job to put them together, since if it was up to dh, they would still be in the boxes next summer.

I really don't think we need any more patio furniture! We currently have 8! chairs, a loveseat and 2 ottomans. I had to move 2 of the chairs up to the deck to make room for the rockers. They are very comfortable though.

So, the sewing projects - dh's pirates costume is finished! I made the vest for mine last weekend. Still need to add some eyelets and the lacing. Tried it on to show my dil on Saturday, and realized that one side was very wonky. Apparently, I twisted it when I sewed the side seam. Easy fix, luckily.

I made the pants on - very easy pull-on pattern. Then started on the blouse. I need to go buy lace - how could I have forgotten to get lace? I checked my stash, but all I have is off-white and of course, I need white lace. I'll stop at JoAnn's on my way to dinner (a working dinner!) tonight.

I set the blouse aside and started on the skorts I wanted to take on our trip. I cut out a total of 6 and started on an assembly line to sew them together. Yesterday I finished 3 of them. They are so cute and very comfortable. I need to pick up some more jersey fabric to make 2 more.

Next I want to make another couple of shirts and some danglers. I have the embroidery patterns, just need to spend the time making them. Its going to be challenging, since we have plans for Saturday and then the following weekend we will be away. Guess I'm going to need to spend a few evenings in the sewing room!

Busy Busy Busy like you are a Sewing Queen Bee :rotfl: Have a wonderful day

I will have to add more pictures after I get home. I finally got the older ones transferred to my laptop.

On a Disney note - I finally ordered our photopass+. Had to wait for payday, and luckily for me, it came 2 days early this week!

Sorry it took so long to get back here Mo. Kat is doing well. The surgery was last week, however they could not find the hole that was supposed to be between the 2 halves of her heart. She has most of her motor skills back - still some problems with her right arm. She will be evaluated at Walter Reed on Wednesday and then, depending on their evaluation, will be assigned light duty at Walter Reed (she is a corpsman) and will live in the Wounded Warrior housing on the base.

Nothing new to report on the Disney front...

We are going to a friend's shore house tomorrow and my dd Kate asked me to take my nephew's Sunfish sailboats with me. Sounds like a fun day on the river!

Sunday will be a sewing day for sure!

Sounds to me like Kat is the recipient of answered prayers in many ways Continued wishes on her recovery road

Looks like a wonderful weekend enjoy yourselves :goodvibes

So then what's wrong with her heart?!
glad to hear about the motor skills and she continues on the recovery front!!!

i don't know what sunfish sailboats are?!?! :confused3
Hope the weekend went well!!!! pixiedust:

Time to play catch up....

Apparently there is nothing wrong with Kat's heart. The docs are not sure what caused the blood clot that caused the stroke. :confused3

She still has some slight speech issues and some issues with her right arm, but she is doing wonderfully well. We very much appreciate everyone's prayers for her.

I have some pictures of the sunfish on my camera, just need to download them and then upload to photobucket. We had so much fun. The weather was perfect.

Sunday, I finished up my pirates costume and the rest of the skorts I had started. I still have fabric for 2 more if I have time to tackle them. We'll see...

My photopass+ came on Friday = WOOHOO!!!!!

Guess that's it for now. I hope to get home early enough to download the pictures - I have a meeting to attend for work, so it depends on how long everyone talks....

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon regarding Kat. She was readmitted to Walter Reed today with GI tract issues. Not sure if it is another colitis attack or what. The docs can move up her next scheduled dose of medicine for the colitis, but that readjusts the schedule for the future, meaning she will need more doses which is not a good thing.

Prayers would be appreciated.

Oh no... Not what I wanted to hear this morning - or ever. Sending up prayers for Kat... Please keep me updated if you can... My Dis time will be limited - maybe send me a PM on FB? I would really appreciate it. (((Hugs))) to all of you!

D~

i'm so sorry...

she is such a fighter and will get through this!!! she has a lot of people praying for her! :grouphug:

Kat was having another colitis flareup and was supposed to get the early dose of medicine today. Haven't heard from her dad, so I don't have any more information at this point.

A few weeks ago I posted that I was having some pain in my knee. I had ex rays done that didn't show any problem with bones or joint so the orthopedic doc said it could be a bone bruise. Pain was still there 2 weeks after, so I had an MRI on Friday. Results today are that yes I do have a bone bruise (still don't know HOW I got it), but I also have a tear in the meniscus. He gave me a cortisone shot, which hurt more than the pain I was having. The knee still hurts, but the cortisone should help some. If it still hurts when I get back from Disney, I will have to have surgery to repair it. Its always something!

Anyway, since Charlie is working so much, including most weekends, and will continue through the first of the year, he decided we will be taking a vacation in Feb or March next year. Where to go, where to go?????

The options at this point are:

1. Europe - we both want to go back to Italy and I want to go back to England. I have family there.

2. Hawaii to visit my brother. This one is high on my list, maybe even more than #1.

3. Key West - I'm not sure I can do a week here. A few days maybe.

4. Spring Training in Florida! I've always wanted to go to spring training - have I
mentioned that I LOVE baseball???? The Orioles play in Sarasota and the Pirates play in Bradenton, so we could visit both teams in one trip. Why the Pirates? My dh is from the Pittsburgh area and my son, Andrew works in the Pirates front office. We can time the trip to be there when Andrew is also there. Score!

5. So last weekend, Charlie told me that he would like to do a cruise. Say what??? I've been trying to get him to go on a cruise forever. So the latest plan is to take a 3 or 4 day Caribbean cruise with a stop in Key West, then head to Sarasota for spring training!

We still have time to make the decision, so I will let each one stew around in my poor little brain for a bit before we make a decision.

The other bit of news is that we are almost positive we will be heading back to WDW next September! Yay.pixiedust:

prayers are still with Kat as always!!

i have to say i hate the shot! it's worthless in my opinion!!! i have had the shot. hurts more then the actual pain! I had the surgery (surgerIES) on my knees several times the meniscus tear was repaired once, that was one of the successful surgeries!
bring a knee brace to Disney and PLEASE ice it down OFTEN.

my vote is EUROPE!!!! AND a cruise?!?!? SWEETNESS!!!! WITH spring training?!?! you hit the vacation LOTTERY!!!! :thumbsup2

Of course i am ALL OVER the trip next year!!! :cool1:

The shot was way worse than the pain! Its better today, but I just don't see the cortisone healing the tear. I plan to take a brace with me too. Guess I will be facing surgery when I get back home...:yay:

Like i have to say this.. yet....MAKE SURE YOU GO TO A GREAT DOCTOR!!!
::yes::

The surgery isn't that bad your up and walking around same day, LOTS and LOTS of ice!
I don't do well with the anesthetic i MUST have sprite as soon as i wake up.
any questions let me know!!! :crutches: everyone has different experiences too.

regards to your trip...
i have to look back on your plans here.. :rolleyes1
or will you give another break down?!?!
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I will post a breakdown for the trip when I get home tonight. I have all my info, just don't have time today to look it all up. I have piles of subdivision plans on my desk that need to go out within the next week :rotfl::scared1:

Knee feels better today and I do plan to take along an ice pack for it. Doc gave me a pain prescription so I should be good to go. The doc is with the local Orthopedic hospital that everyone in my office seems to go to, so I'm confident I picked a good one.

I'm not going to worry about the surgery now, just going to enjoy my trip!

I also need to make a packing list so I don't forget stuff I need to take. I have a Disney box that I have been putting things in as I get them, and putting clothes and stuff that we are not going to wear between now and then in the suitcases. Less than 2 weeks to go!

We also decided to go down to the airport the night before and stay in a hotel so we don't have to get up at 0 dark thirty and possibly get stuck in morning rush hour traffic around Baltimore. Now I need to decide where to stay. We can use points to stay in a Comfort Inn and pay to leave the car there, which is cheaper than long term parking at the airport, but the Comfort Inn that my sister and I stayed in in March is closed . They were doing construction on it at the time, so I don't know what the story is. The next closest one is a Sleep Inn. Its just one night. I need to call and double check about the car first though. The SleepFlyPark rate is more money than it would cost to park in long term, so I'm not going that route. Decisions, decisions....
