Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

OK, no one has said it but I am going to....;)

Brown Team Ron and his loose skin is very weird. It makes me cringe when he takes off his shirt.:scared:

I know that is wrong, but I can't help it.

I was so upset that the bottom two were Dan and Jerry. Neither of them deserved to go home. When they said Dan had to lose more than 3 pounds to be safe I figured he had it no problem. I guess the 2 of them having lost so much weight the week before hurt them in week 2. Dan lost 30 and Jerry lost 25. I was wondering if the black team knowing they had immunity, drank some water before the weigh in(week one)..not enough to gain weight, but maybe to have a pound or two advantage for the next week.

I always hate when someone who is really trying gets sent home. But my favorite part of the show is when they show how they are doing at home. I was so happy to see Jerry and his wife still doing great. He looked amazing. Plus he was so classy when they all were voting for him. He was "at peace".

I also thought it was interesting that the brown team said to vote for Jerry as Dan needed to be on the show more. They had a chance to vote of a HUGE threat early on in the show, but kept him on for his benefit. So it wasn't about game playing. At least it isn't at that point yet.

And it was great when they all went down to help Dan up the mountain. I'm still not sure who I'm rooting for yet. I always want them all to do well!

I think Jerry would have voted for Dan to stay if he'd had a vote. The brown team was right, Jerry has been thin before but Dan never has. It would be easier for Jerry to return to good habits at home with Estella then for Dan to keep up with brand new habits. Then, the coming attractions proved it to me when I saw what Dan's partner was eating!!

I think Bob going off on Joelle last night was the best 3 minutes of TV I've seen in a long, long time. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I felt sorry for Dan -- he is just too big to compete in those competitions. He couldn't pedal the kayak because his stomach interfered with his legs.

The logical choice to send Jerry home was a good one. Dan needs the chance to live a good life.

Joelle should have taken the $25K because she's at the point now she's not going to get the support or respect from the rest of the people there unless she makes a complete turn-around.

Wasn't it? Oh my Lord, I just couldn't stop laughing. He just completely lost his mind.

I agree with PP about the black team and the snickering. They remind me of the Boston guys in the season that Ali won (didn't care for those guys either). Interesting theory about the water last week to help boost this week's numbers...

Joelle drove me CRAZY!! But it sure made for good TV. And I felt bad for Dan at the restaurant with his family. I think he honestly thought only ordering 2 hotdogs was a GOOD THING!! :sad2:

Tara got brownie points from me when she gave up her phone call (since she already had immunity) to the blue guy. That was nice.

That being said, I am looking forward to the game play to start!!! popcorn::

Oops! I meant to say that I didn't see any screen strecthing or shaking last night. that makes me feel a little better and no DUm, DUM, DUM BIG , heavy music when they weighed in either.

I think Tara could win the show. She is determined to do well. However, didn't she only lose one pound last night?! What's up with that? If Tara doesn't win, then the black team will. They have a lot of weight to lose and it's dropping off quickly.

Jerry looked great at the end of the show - so did his wife (Estella?). Looks like he's doing well. After he passed out from arm circles I thought he wasn't going to make it one week. He's shown some grit.

Wow, did I cry last night! I was so happy to see Jerry do so well at home. He truly is an inspiration. Went from incredibly sad tears to happy tears. I hope he does inspire some seniors to change to healthier ways too.

I LOVE this group of contestants.:lovestruc So much better than last season... (at least so far). for the most part they all seem so supportive of each other and are there for the right reasons. Heba and Vicky cast a cloud over last season, this time the HEART is back in. Love how they went back and helped Dan climb to the top, Tara giving away her phone call, and the smiles and comraderie seem very genuine so far.

Joelle of course has to go...

I'm going out on a limb here: I like Joelle. She is overcoming so much in her life to be there and I am rooting for her. She was tempted: but she didn't take the money. She was loafing in workouts: but she did step up and finish the 30-seconds along with everyone else. I think that Joelle said it best, she is her biggest enemy.

I hope that she can turn things around and get the support she needs in the house and by Bob. I don't think the "I told you so!" attitude is fair. You know, 3 other people lost less than 5 pounds and no one is blaming THEM for their "small" weight loss.

Joelle drove me crazy last night. I am not a fan. She is basically taking away valuable "Bob time" from the rest of her team. He's so busy trying to get her to work out that he isn't able to spend that time with the rest of the team....the people that are actually putting forth the effort.

She wasn't even breathing heavy on the treadmill!! She wasn't trying at all. She's clearly a quitter. She even said she was going to "fake it to make it." Faking excercise won't get you anywhere.

I was sad to see Jerry and Dan below the line. i told my husband that i thought the other contestants should stage a "walk off" to try and get Joelle off...haha.

Jerry looked great though. So did Estelle (is that his wife's name?) I can't wait to see them at the finale.

First, yeah only 6 pages to catch up...:cool1:

Congrats to Allison on the birth of her daughterprincess:. I like her. She is really down to earth and both kids have normal names (in my book).

Bob's Rant:scared:! I had to Tivo through it. No matter what, I am not with most of you. I thought it was uncalled for.. Which leads me to Joelle

Joelle, I don't like her. I think she is one of those people that no matter what won't listen. You know the type, talks over everyone even authority. Not sure she means to be this way, but a definite turn off for me. So I wouldn't shed any tears if she had to leave.

Jerry/Dan decision and the speech from the heart from Ron. I would not have wanted to make the decision. When Ron was explaining why he felt Dan needed to stay, he was talking from the heart. You could see it. I think Jerry knew he would go. He looks great and I am sure his at home trainer was able to work with his age better. Not all things happen for the wrong reason.

Dan - what determination. I know lots of children in that age group and trust me, I give him a lot of kudo's. I hope that he shows that is can be done with hard work. The younger generation (at least my contact with them) seems to go for the quick fix...

Okay long winded I am!

Have a great week. Diane

I think a lot of that "I told you so" stuff came from things we didn't see. With all the product placement and building up tension, they leave a LOT out. They did show us a small section of how hard everyone was working. If I was working so hard that I was puking and I had to watch someone dogging it for a week, I'd probably be ready to tell them "I told you so" when they didn't lose anything too. Maybe the other 3 were really working hard in the exercise room and people thought they should have lost more?

So far I am liking this season, a lot. I don't feel there is as much "game" going on as last year.

What do you all think of Blaine (I think that is the right name) possibly missing the birth of his baby?

He might miss the birth, but if he loses weight and gets healthy he'll be around for every other milestone in that baby's life-and that baby's babies lives!!!

I'm sure he and his wife discussed it and made the call that the long term goal was important enough to make the sacrifice.

I did feel bad for Joele with the money thing. I mean to me $25K would not be worth it, but it sounds like she's pretty poor so I can see it being tempting and at least in the end she did refuse. But when she wimped on the workouts, that was wrong. It reminded me of the military too...all the other guys had to suffer and keep doing it over because she couldn't, scratch that, wouldn't finish the 30 seconds. At least she owned up to it and admitted she was wrong. But she is going to have to change if she wants to stick around.

From the previews it looks like the at home contestants, get to see how the people at the ranch are doing? It looks like Carla goes off on Joele so that seems the only plausible explanation. Unless I missed something.

I also loved that tara gave away her phone call. Seems like people are being very supportive of each other so far. That usually changes as people get closer to the end but we shall see.

I was shocked that the at home orange guy was eating hot dogs and fries. And he thinks that is being good....well, guess that is how he got to his weight.

Leslie

Not to bring up Vicki but Jerry going home was her fault, they have never given the last place person from the challege a penelty before but because she would just quit & her teammates barely talked about it & heck bob didn't even yell at her. When he asked his team who won why didn't he ask who lost or just quit cause the prize wasn't worth their time or effort. Sorry Vicki Rant over;)

I kinda liked Joell in the very begining tonight I thought well at least she is being honest maybe she is turning a corner, but then yuck. right now I even like Helen she turned a corner & she might now be my favorite but I liked her alot tonight. Can't wait to see the numbers next week.

Kae

They've had that one (or 2) lb penalty before Vicki.

I loved watching the group go down and support orange boy on his way up the hill and how they made sure HE finished it himself. One of many crying times....I like all of these teams (except Joelle).

I said during weigh in that this was the first time ever I hoped somebody gained weight!! My DD said "But mom, what about Vicki?" I never wanted Vicki to gain I just wanted her off!! Joelle I want to gain weight because she needs a butt kicking.

Exactly what I was wondering about! I think it is wrong for him to be on the show with his wife expecting. I really do. He lives in AZ and I would imagine the show is taped in LA - does anyone know?? Anyway, even if he does have an agreement with the show that he can leave when she goes into labor, there's a very good chance he wouldn't get there in time. Who knows, though, maybe it's a scheduled c-section. Either way, I just don't like it.

I completely understand the other poster's point - I'm sure he and his wife weighed the pros and cons and made what they thought was the best decision. I just know that I would never agree to it. He has one of the lowest BMIs of the group. He's 6'8"!!!

One more question - what the heck did Bob say - something like "I helped her in work outs and SOMETHING - outs. I kept replaying it and couldn't figure it out. I think he was talking to/about Joelle at the time...

I didn't even THINK of that!!!! They could have ALL voted off Daniel so easily and taken that team out.

They will be a force to be reckoned with as far as weight loss later for sure.

Some of them were saying that Jerry needed to stay.....hmmmm....I need to go back and review. Perhaps those are our "game players"?

GET WITH THE PROGRAM!! When you win immunity you :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 right before the weigh-in!! Expect Tara to have a very nice weight loss next week! LOL! Seriosly, though, how can anyone stand there through the whole weigh-in with that much water in their bladder! :scared1:
