When Soarin' opened in Epcot it started with a soft opening for Disney Vacation Club members only.

I saw a post saying it reopens at the end of March from another site, cannot remember where. No idea where they got that from but I can dream! I'm there those same dates as Lauren and its the one thing I'm sad about missing.

That's California. They are only changing the movie. In Florida, they are also redesigning the queue.

It's slated to reopen June 1st .... But Disney does tend to run behind schedule.
I have a solo trip May 15 - 22. Is there a chance in hades that it might open or soft open by then?

That's California. They are only changing the movie. In Florida, they are also redesigning the queue.

Not only redesigning the queue, but they are adding another theatre to reduce wait times, and redesigning all the landmarks of the ride. So basically, making a brand new ride!

Disney just filed another Soarin' permit a few hours ago for electrical work .... filed date for work to be completed is August 26th.....

Included area on permit site map is the old theaters and queues.

We are there 5/8-5/14.
I'm so sad. It was my now 11 yo DD's favorite ride when she was 3.5. I was looking forward to my little girls riding. If Nor-zen isn't open yet it's gonna be a lackluster day...

On the podcast Michael Bowling said a CM on a backstage tour of EPCOT had reported May for the opening. It's possible. : )
