Hi all,

I am looking for a very good map of the Kissimee/Lake Beunea Vista area for our offsite/onsite stay next month.

I was in Borders and noticed a lot of companies make fold out maps with laminated plastic covers.

Any recommendations, or should I just grab any old one?

i like the maps that the visitor bureau does for kissimmee/st cloud

it is free - it looks like a magazine - but inside are several helpful maps

http://www.floridakiss.com/tools/requestinfo/index.php

there are several maps - one will tell where all the hotels are in Kissimmee, another tells you where the theme parks are in Orlando area (not just Kissimmee).

Inside the magazine is a list of the restuarants - most of the restuarants give the guidemarker that they are close by - you can find the guidemarker on their maps and streets.

not enough places are using the guidemarker - so in lots of cases you will have call the place. they give the phone number.

The best street map is from Dolph Maps in Ft. Lauderdale. The best plastic coated is Silver Lining's "Best Map of Orlando". Opinion is based on over 30 years in surveying and engineering.

Spiceycat-- I will definitely get those materials from the K/St.C people. And they are free. Thanks for the idea!

Motherfletcher -- I wil also do a search for those maps. We will be without DH for the first day or two of the trip (as he will be in Charleston on business) and I could "get lost inside a wet paper bag" as he puts it. Sad, but alas, it is true. Hey, I'm a philosopher. We're not exactly known for our practical skills.

Thanks for the replies!
