That was the selection the night I was there. Enjoyed them all, but did think they were smaller hunks than I'd had previously (not that I needed more), but did think the pairings were a tad less interesting than I'd had previously. "Enjoy all five for 20.00" . Don't know what it costs if you don't enjoy all 5! Hope this helps with your decision.

Abby - enjoyed your reviews, that's nice you were able to have your friends join you for some meals, more food pictures that way!

oybolshoi - read the Payard review, sorry it was disappointing! Lack of event planning for something like that is inexcusable! I'm sure it was frustrating for Payard and the staff.

Wish I was going to Flower and Garden (or sooner!), just hope to make it to WDW in the fall. Have some dates down, but already they need changed!

Thank you so much! Yea, I didn't see the cheese plate even listed on the all ears menu .... maybe I missed it. I've had a few cheese plates (and I do mean only a few) and for ME it's all about the cute little accompaniments like the fun candied or spiced nuts, the gelee's (or compote, I don't care!), fruits, breads, etc. Maybe if it isn't the same as it used to be I might just skip it.

Oh it was a lot of things ... my reports took too long to finish (sheesh, I'm sorry I have a job that takes 50-60 hours of my time each week with another 10-12 hours commuting) and the threads were too long to manage (sorry that I tried to respond when people made comments or asked questions) and I apparently was too cliquey (pretty sure I never told anyone they weren't welcome to join the fun but I guess some people use a different definition of the word clique).

And I'm sure somewhere along the way I made a comment or two that was probably too irreverant or insulting for someone.

So I decided to keep things on facecrack and my blog for people who are really interested in our experiences and the information we have to share. I do have to say that I find it really interesting that they aren't enforcing their own rules on the restaurant boards - threads are still unlocked after reports are clearly completed and some have dragged on for more than the 90 day limit the mods imposed but hey ... why look for consistent treatment around here?

This thread is kind of a check-in point but most of us have hooked up on facecrack now so I just keep this open to catch any stragglers who would like to stay in touch. We have a good group of friends that have come together thanks to the DIS but the supreme leaders have taken all the fun out of the restaurant boards so we keep it to ourselves so as not to bother anyone here.

That is incredibley lame. Honestly, alot of threads are "cliquey" if the definition of they have followers that enjoy posting together. HELLO. Sheesh. I'm really sorry that it came to that for you and US (yes, dang it, I'm inconvenienced by this tom-foolery! and that's what matters by golley!) Hope to see you on the crack being your normal self

I've noticed the inconsistant rulings on the restuarant board too. I don't really get it on how some get away. I never posted my final thoughts but figured since it was over 90 days I shouldn't. I haven't been reading there much though since my next vacation is the cruise & my May disney trip won't be much about food other than for substance. We still aren't sure when in October we are going but we hope to do California Signature Dinner and then we'll plan the other meals based on that date (probably places like Fulton, Shulas, and Citricos)

We are mainly prepping this year to be our last in our current location We do want to move to Florida (I grew up there so I know what I'm getting into) so in doing so we need to make sure we have a substanial downpayment and try to reduce my leftover student loan debt and car notes as much as we can.

Congrats on the upcoming trip! As for the CA Grill cheese plate I'm sure they still have it but the one we had on our most recent trip (10/10) was not very good. The one you're remembering is probably from 2009.

Quite frankly I was not pleased with WDW cheese plates on our last visit - they lacked variety and the portions were small ... even at Flying Fish.

I'm not hanging here much because the restaurant mods don't really like me or my reviews ... you can PM me with your email address if you'd like to hook up with a bunch of us on Facecrack. And you can follow the link in my siggie to my blog - they are some WDW reviews from October there as well as a lot of stuff from Vegas and other trips.

Thank you everyone. I considered not going at all because I didn't think I'd be able to handle it. But I am really glad I did because I enjoyed listening to the friends who spoke about her. We had fireworks at the end and they were really spectacular - the same kind of thing they have at Disney (but for 2 minutes instead of 15).

Yesterday was an amazing day. Bob woke up and made such a ruckus trying to talk to me and write on my palm that the nurses put out a call to any doctor to come and write permission to remove the breathing tube. They did and he hasn't shut up. I stayed with him for 8 hours yesterday and he talked constantly. His speech and voice have been affected (but his mind is still sharp) and I can understand about 95% of what he is saying. He is still having to use the feeding tube though, because he can't pass their swallowing test yet. When that happens he has given me a list of food and drink "wants" that spans three notebook pages. I came home to check on the dog (who ate pottery last night.... there is no end....) and to eat lunch. I am going back with renewed hearing! Thanks for sharing in my delight.

Brenda I feel the same way about your reviews. I miss seeing them on the DIS. When you have more Disney reviews, you need to email Bob over at the DisneyDispatch.com. He has a dining review column that's he been publishing some of my reviews on and I think yours would really suit the site well. I have to say, you're one of my biggest dining review inspirations!
