I hope you have a great time! I know that the things that have happened at your work lately have been weighing on you. It's time for you to escape for a while and put it all behind you. We all need that sometimes, and I'm finding that the older I get, the more I need the breaks from the stress.

I can't wait to see your pictures and hear about your fun. I will pray for safe travel and fantastic times ahead for all of you. I look forward to seeing the smiling faces of those two great kids as they enjoy Disney World. Have fun eating lots of good food. That's one of the most enjoyable parts to me!

ANTSS - Sorry we will miss/missed each other. Someday we'll work out a time that will work for cherokeemamma, Glenda, and others and we'll all finally meet.

BaciBecky, snowbell, scottny, Lurrrvthe Duck,wanngo2disney, carrieannie, Cotta, declansdad, Gmax and anyone else I've missed responding to lately, forgive me. I've only had the time to Dis a little lately, and I've used that time to put up a few pictures for the Pop Century pictures and the All Star Sports thread. Thank you all for sticking around.

If Jill ever gets time to put her last comments on the summer trip, we're going to put up some pictures and just a few comments about the Halloween/birthday trip. Then we'll sit back and enjoying reading and riding along on others' trips until it's time for us to go back at Christmas.

For now, I'll leave you with a few beginning pictures, just to let you know we really did go, and we really will post, but it's just a matter of getting the time.

It's always exciting to see your first Disney bus. You know you are really there!

We just loved all the fall decorations that adorned the Magic Kingdom. This was our first time to go during October, so all of the decor was new to us. Fall is my favorite season and Disney is my favorite place, so I just loved it all!

As you can see, Brooklynn is ready and waiting to go on this next adventure. She's just got to get her Mommy and MeMom going!

Everyone have a good day!

looking forward to hearing more.

you have a good day also.

I can't wait to see the magic kingdom decorated for fall/halloween!

And I can't wait to see the rest of your pics and read your TR!

It just looked beautiful! The store windows were decorated, pumkpin "people" were all over the place, the characters were dressed so cute...I just loved it all. I'm ready to go back right now! Eeyore was just as cute as could be in the clown outfit. The kids in their costumes were so excited as they gathered candy. Ghosts flew all around Main Street before the parade. MNSSHP night was just a lot of fun. You will have a great time in only TEN days!!! Lucky you!

Hello MeMom and Brooklynn'smommy,

I just found your TR and couldn't stop. I sat here and went through it all. We are leaving in 17 days so I'm very anxious and love looking at the pics. Brooklynn is adorable and such a good name. My son is 5 months old and had he been a girl....yeah right ( i have 2 older boys) his name was going to be Brooklynn Marie. Anyway. I had a couple of questions for you if that's ok.

Can you go to all the resorts and look around even if you aren't staying there?
(We are staying off-site) I would love to see the different resorts so I could pick one for future stays(have never stayed on-site)

Can you go and eat at the restaurants at the resorts if you aren't staying there?

What are the zebra domes you referred to?

What kind of stroller is Brooklynn in? It looks comfy and light weight, is it? Is it pricey?

Sorry to bug you with all the questions just thought you would know and I'm fairly new to all of this. Thank you so much......Can't wait to read more.

You can go and visit any of the resorts at any time. You can also eat at all of the food courts and if you make ADR's you can eat at any table service at any resort. It is a lot of fun to go visit the resorts. They are just so themed to the littlest detail.

Zebra domes are a treat you can find at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They are a sweet and heavenly treat.

Brooklynn's stroller is a Graco. They sell it as a travel system and as just a stroller. We got ours at ToysRUs, but they have the stroller only at Sears. We love it because it functions as a ful travel system but it folds up to the size of an umbrella stroller. They also have umbrella strollers for sale at all the resort gift shops. They are about $40. Which is about what it costs to rent a hard plastic stroller that doesn't recline and looks like everyone else's for 4 or 5 days.

Hope this helps if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

We are booked already for June 28th through July 7th. I've already put the deposit on two rooms at Pop again. It worked for us last time. I offered to check into Music suites, but everybody likes Pop, so we're sticking with that.

We do have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs when we are together.

Thanks for the much too kind compliment. I'm not Frankenstein or anything, but I'm just really self-conscious about being in pictures. The rest of my family is just much prettier to look at than I am, so I am glad to give them the joy of being in the limelight.

Dylan & Blake's mom - We're always glad to have new readers join us. I'm glad you are enjoying our craziness. I hope you have a great time on your trip. Definitely visit the resorts! Go to eat and wander around, and I think you'll be sold on staying on property. Zebra domes are a yummy little two or three bite treat. They have a sponge cake type base and a Kahlua creamy topping drizzled with chocolate. Very sweet and very good!

carrieannie and scottny - Thanks for continuing to read and comment. So many people on this report feel like friends, even though we have never met, and likely never will.

I guess I'll go ahead and start on the MNSSHP/Jill's birthday trip. Jill can write a fabulous ending to the summer trip if she ever gets time, but if not, well, I'll give you a hint:

it really did end and we really did come home.

And we really did decide to go back. Before Christmas.

So, with the very logical reasons that Jill's birthday was on a Friday AND we'd never been to Mickey's Halloween Party AND I could take a couple of sick days with the complete approval of my assistant principal, we planned this trip. The plan was to leave right after school, drive to Perry, GA, sleep a few hours, and head out early to finish the trip. There was a glitch - my principal calling a faculty meeting - but then at the last minute it got unglitched, so I got lucky. It got changed to Thursday, so gosh darn it, I missed it. Hate that.

We got to Perry at a reasonable hour. We were back on the road about 4:30 or not much after. We only had a few short days, so sleep was not an immediate priority.

We had decided to stay at All-Star Sports, because Jill had never stayed there before. Check in was about average. We settled in, got Brooklynn's costume ready, and headed to the bus stop.

We did see several lovebugs flying around and crawling on the poles, but that initial sighting ended up being the worst we saw of them. We saw a few again at POR bus stop later in the trip, but none in any of the parks at any time.

I've never been as excited about a Halloween party in my whole half century of life! I had seen the pictures others had put on the boards of all the autumn decor on Main Street, and I was sold. I really had to see it in person!
It is just what I thought it would be...and more.

We were once again in our happiest place, and neither Jill nor I could really yet believe it.

As we had first come in, we saw Mary Poppins and Bert greeting some friends.

P1100229.jpg

Look at the smiles on those faces. They were so happy we were there!
P1100230.jpg

The balloons. Not the people. They couldn't have cared less that we were there.

This was what was happening at the castle.
P1100232.jpg

That is how I was feeling inside, too!

The first order of business was to eat, so we headed here

P1100234.jpg

and ordered this.

P1100235.jpg

We could easily have shared. We didn't realize how big the portions were. We thought the water cups were pretty cute, and they got us even more in the spirit for the Halloween evening ahead.

Next, we were off to somewhere very scary. Or at least Stitch was thinking so!

P1100237.jpg

wow smiles from the balloons and fireworks going off, Disney was happy you returned.
:rotfl2:
.
The pics look great. So glad you started this.

Cute pics so far! I'm actually going to see about attending the Halloween Party next year!

Great pics MeMom... I went to disney a couple of years ago in October, but only got to go to Epcot... it is nice to see all the decorations.

I just looked at your siggy -- you are going to Disney so many times -- you have soooo many new memories to look forward too..

But guess what... I JUST GOT A DVC.. I CLOSE IN DECEMBER... I AM SO EXCITED. It is well worth the money with the amount of times we go. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Awesome! Jill and John plan to buy into DVC in the next couple of years, too. They were sold on it when they met with the guy and toured AK Villas this summer. Congratulations on your decision, and I hope you'll share many, many times of Disney fun with us in the years ahead.

We are lucky to be going often this year. We splurged for the annual passes, so we're trying to get a lot of use out of them.

Everyone keep cherokeemamma and her family in your thoughts for safe travel this week as they enjoy their trip. She'll have a great report when they return, I'm sure.

scottny, praisehisname, and SwansLoveDisney - I love taking the pictures. I really would like to get a camera that takes great parade pictures. I would love to do justice to Spectro and the Halloween parade and such. I wish I could go at Thanksgiving just for a picture-taking trip.

The lunch was huge. There were two pieces of chicken and two pieces of fish and a mound of fries. I stuffed chicken and fish in a ziplock bag thinking one of us might it it a little later, but we never did. Jill made fun of me. I threw away nearly a whole meal. We'll know the next time we go there to lighten up on our order.

Glenda - I hope you do get to go for a Halloween party next year!

Here's a picture of the tree that holds the thirteen lanterns representing the thirteen original colonies. This was right near where we ate.

P1100233.jpg

It was on my list of pictures to get this summer, but I never did get to it. I was glad to get it right away this time.

As you see, it takes very little to thrill me.

I love it all!!! Your pics are great!

Isn't CHH the best food?! Mmmmmm, makes me want to go back just for that. :)

Can't wait to read more.

After eating, we headed to the Haunted Mansion. It was down during the summer, so we were really looking forward to doing this. It was the one thing that John was "mad" at us about, as far as the trip. He was okay with Jill and Brooklynn going without him, with the one exception that he was bummed about missing out on getting to see the refurbished Haunted Mansion.

The sign said there was a ten minute wait, but I think it could have been more like a whole twelve.

P1100238.jpg

I liked getting the rose in the foreground of the picture, but it didn't turn out to be as cool looking in the picture as it was when I was standing there.

P1100239.jpg

P1100240.jpg

Now, let us remember, that at one time our dear Gmax was stuck in this place. I would know if she had been held captive long enough to make her mark on the place by checking out the banquet table. If the dishes were Old English Roses, I would know she had been there a while...or maybe she was even still around!!!

You will have to ride for yourself to find out.

P1100241.jpg

Jill tried to get a good bride picture, but it was blurry.

DSC01282.jpg

Guess who else got stuck? Yep, that would be us. We got stuck just before the ghost got into our doom buggy. You can see him in the buggy just before us. We were probably stopped for a minute to two at most, but it was still, so we tried to get a decent picture, but again - blurry.

DSC01287.jpg

Anyway, we had had our first meal and ridden our first ride in a very short time. The weather was beautiful, the atmosphere was happy, music played in the background, I had my girls with me, I wasn't at school...it was fabulous!
