August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

One week!! 7 days!! Woohoo!!! I have been following this countdown since it started and I can't believe we are so close!!! We leave early Sunday morning and I am soooo excited!! :cool1::cool1:

Drinking for these 19 year olds only in Canada, not on the Wonder though. Good thing we leave from Vancouver.

And don't forget they will need their government issued photo ID on them in case they get carded. My DS is 23 and they always card him (he was told if you look younger than 25 they will card for alcohol-If you look younger than 30 they will card you for cigarettes and casino/lotto tickets)

Matt is also excited about this (he can have a strawberry daquiri). He also wants to go to a casino.

I have one last hooded sweatshirt and I can't fit it in my suitcase. DH says to wear it but it's 80-85 degrees here in the mornings.

I can't believe I'm going to say this.....I agree with your DH. When DD and I flew home last week from FL we both froze on the plane - she had packed a hoodie in her carry on and it's a good thing I bought a long sleeve DelSol shirt in the airport to put on. We almost always back something long sleeve for the place since they can be so cold and blankets aren't normally provided any more.

That used to be the case but lately... too many hot flashes. I've been running a lot warmer than I used to.

Cannot believe it... one week!

The 8/2/11 sailing (today) has mostly clear weather in the ports (lucky ducks).

But for our sailing, Accuweather is still showing rain in every port for our trip.

Hope I can still take a helicopter to the glacier in Juneau when .24 inches of rain is expected!

Remember, just because it says rain, doesn't mean it's going to rain all day

Thanks Caropooh, I feel better.

I still have a few butterflies in the belly because the trip is so close!

I was also looking at the percentages for the chance of rain through next Thursday and it was only 10-20%. I can tell you that at least here in Seattle, we don't get heavy rain a lot. We get light drizzly off and on stuff. I can't say that's what it will be like in Alaska, but I'm guessing it may be.

Honestly, I'm not that worried. I've got rain gear if I need it, but I'm hoping I won't. It's very hard to predict the weather this far out, so I'm not fretting about it. Either way, I'll have a great time! :goodvibes

I can't believe it's almost here!

I have waited for almost 3 years since my first cruise to show my parent's and my sister the Ship and in one weeks time, I will have the chance! I can't wait! :)

As far as the weather, I'm not going to stress about it too much. I'm liking the temps since I don't like hot weather.

My sister and I put together our FE gifts today...there's a few things that I still need to do, but she's almost 100% done. I also started grabbing things that we'll need from around the apartment...I don't want to forget the camera or camera charger!

Is anybody packing an umbrella?

Can anyone tell me if there are hair dryers in the bathrooms. I assume there are, but just wanted to confirm. See you all in a week!!!!:cool1::yay:

The ones on the Wonder are wall mounted and many people don't think they dry their hair well enough. DD uses it and it's fine for her, but she also has fine hair. The hose on it looks like a vacuum tube and gets hot when being used.

We had some of each when we were there. Drizzly, sunny, and pouring. The good news was, when it did pour rain, it didn't last long at all.
