Melinda, Mail???? What Mail???? Bill said if you have mail coming that should have been received by now, you may not have gotten it because your mail delivery is by the Amish in horse drawn carriages. Just fooling, no harm meant by that comment.

I don't have to work today Grumbo and Mel!! Na na na! (I never work on Fridays!!).

Val, no worries. I stayed home yesterday and only used my eyes on the computer for important things (e-mail, chat) and didn't touch the work! With no work today, I will end up with 5 days of recovery time.

Susan's husband has been hard at work and has a sample of what the pin will look like-however he does reserve the right to "tweak" it! The space between the rope and life preserver is open and not metal!

Questions to all:
(1) what should the limited edition size be on this bugger?

(2) we'll need to be ordering this by June 1st

(3) I'll work with Dan & Scott to figure out how best to work this out - we'll probably need payment in advance of the cruise - and then we can distribute the pins at the pre-cruise dismeets as well as on the ship once we all embark.

No, not the word "magic" by itself. But Disney does have copyrights to the Disney Magic logo as it appears on the side of the ship. I could be wrong! I guess if the pin producers don't have a problem with it then that's what matters.

I just know that Disney actively (and aggressively) pursues copyright violations. While attending college I worked at a local grocery chain (Publix). My position was "Scan Pricing Coordinator". Basically, I was in charge of all of the pricing integrity throughout the store. Well, at one point one of our managers got the bright idea to put Disney characters on some of the signs produced in the store. It just so happens that Disney found out about this and the chain got a cease and desist order.

I thought it quite funny at the time. Then corporate sent down standards for all store level signs. Of course, one of the new policies was no use of copyrighted materials and they gave Disney characters as an example.

But seriously, we live in Florida! Did he think it would go unnoticed or something? Crazy, crazy, crazy!

Are you sure? I know that DISNEY is copyrighted, but not sure if MAGIC or even the font can be copyrighted (although DISNEY and MAGIC together can be copyrighted I'm sure).

Our source has contacts with Disney management and over the years has gotten a lot of stuff approved (and some even nixed) by Disney managers to the point where she's got a fairly good idea of what will fly by them and what won't. She's confident that the word MAGIC by itself won't be an issue, as long as we don't mention DISNEY or DCL anywhere on the pin.

Dan, Could you up my pins from 2 to 4? Please, that is one really nice pin.

As for Disney and their copyright issues. The day care centers each have a letter on file from Disney. The letters give permission for us to show Disney VCR/DVDs to the kids. If you don't have permission and they catch you they will sue you.

Just so everyone knows, if you gave me your e-mail address, I have e-mailed the first newsletter to you. If you have not received it, something happened on your end. Only one was returned to me and one was missing an e-mail address. I have confirmed the rest were sent.

If you did not get it, this means that it likely was stopped by your e-mail spam services. I do not know how each of those works, but recommend that you check spam folders, filters or what ever you may do to find the e-mail. It won't do any good for me to send it again until you check that.

We are looking at ways to simply send you a location without a file name and a password, but until that is up and running, this is the best we can do. Sorry.

I love the pin & I am one of those "not really a pin person". Disney Dudette #1 is really the collector but we all want one!

I had a little tightness financially & thought for a short while that the cruise would be a no go but decided to take a "little" home equity loan & now I am excited again! Between the weddings & cruise I'M BUSTED!
