I got to thinking yesterday of all the things we are planning and how some of our fools may not be checking regularly enough to know what's happening. What if we put together an e-mail list for anyone who wants to get monthly, and when we're closer, weekly updates as to what's happening and who's organizing it? I'd be happy to e-mail that to everyone who wants to be included and PM everyone on the list. What do you all think?

Not sure when I'll get to chat tonight, we don't get home from bowling until about 9:00 CST. Will check in then with you all!

Tracy

Tracy--

The other website has a mailing list function that works like a traditional mailing list. (i.e., if a subscribed user sends a message to the list then the list distributes it to all list members.) Just an FYI if you wanted to go in that direction.

Or, Marsha also has the Yahoo Group set up. That too will distribute messages to individual e-mail accounts.

"IT" started here about 15 minutes ago and the ground is covered. Not looking forward to all the shoveling tomorrow. :guilty:

Bill's shoveling right now! Can't tell how much we got because it's drifting alot already and still snowing here. It's well over a foot at the end of the driveway, but the plow has been through already.

Kmiles, I was just thinking that some people don't post or check very often and if we selected a method for notifying people (your ideas are great), we should somehow let the people who don't check in as often here how to sign up for such an update. No offense, but we can all be kinda scary for the lurker types! Maybe we can talk about it tonight.

Tracy

The one nice thing about today, even with the snow falling down is, our DD's postcard that we sent her from Castaway Cay earlier this month, arrived in today's mail. It brought back thoughts of sunnier and warmer days earlier this month.

Man, that looks like quite a storm on your map, Grumbo. i was really surprised to see all the town names up there with just three letters!!! We have a lot of long Indian ones down here!!!

:cat:

Started here about 9. Light at first and now just continuing. Very fine and I bet we are going to be seeing it for hours like this. Thanks Grumbo for the map. On top of everything else we have a frozen water pipe between the first floor and the second. The pipe runs up the outside wall and with the temps as cold as they have been I guess the pipe just got really cold. Was out a while ago putting bird seed under the pine trees so they will have something without having to fly too far.
Hope Mark and Sandra get home without too much trouble. If it just started at Andys' maybe it won't be too bad when they get to Islip. They deserve a break from the luck they have been having.

Estelle :goodvibes: (really a shiver)

Totally agree Tracy. We're an intimidating bunch to say the least! (At least when viewed from the outside.) ;)

Chat tonight!

I am so sick of this winter cold, now we are going to get nailed with the snow piled up enough wood this morning in case we lose power. Yesterday it was only 14 out with a wind. I am so ready for Florida we booked to go on February vacation can't wait

Hello Folks!!
Just got home!! WHEW!! took us about 1 1/2 hr to get home instead of 1 hour. saw my new nephew in hospital..Will post a pic. later when Bob downloads.
Snow is really really coming down. We were going to stay over again but bob didn't want to get stuck in Jersey and deal with with all this snow at home tomorrow. so we left early. Now comfy in my home with our fireplace going...

Grumbo, neat map!! We live where "ABE" is coded. (Right next to jersey) IzziBob, those 3 letters are airport codes!! Are you that stupid?????

So who won the photo contest?? I assume it was voted already??

Estelle, kids want to know if you think Easton will have school monday??

Mark, safe trip for you and Family...

See you later at live chat tonight....

We are just southeast of PHL on the map, and baby is the snow falling hard now!!!

Huh?
I thought Abraham Lincoln was from Illinois and was buried in Springfield, Illinois. So much for my two years of U.S. history in High School.

 good one!!

It actually stands for "Allentown/Bethlehem/Easton"

Just started snowing here in Connecticut. Fed the birds, learned how to use the snow blower (father gave it to me when they moved to a condo last summer), and got flavored coffee at the store (along with a MILLION others who couldn't seem to make it a day without bread and milk!)

Let it snow!

:cat:

Melinda, I suspect that the school will be closed. But I am only guessing. Tell the kids my gut take on it is that nobody in this part of the Eastern Seaboard will be having school on Monday.

Fed the birds again putting the seeds under the pine trees in our pine trees in the back of our yard. At this point even the squirrels and rabbits are entitled to something to eat. I know what you mean about loads of people in the stores. Must have their bread and milk. But since they knew this was coming why did they wait until last night to get what the needed?

well, it's really snowing here in central Jersey. I'm still in my PJs and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Went food shopping last night for extra things so we're covered.

Can't wait for the chat tonight to find out who won the contest. I really like all the pics.

I can attest to that as it's my birth city and state!
