Post a Picture of Your Camping Setup at Other Campgrounds!!

Ozark Waterfront Resort, Camdenton, MO (Lake of the Ozarks)

First, the name is a bit misleading. It isn't "waterfront", but up the hill a 1/4 mile from the water. It IS right around the corner from my dad and his wife, who ARE waterfront.

View from their house balcony.

This campground has been here a very long time, but really ran down in the past 10 years. It used to have a pool and a petting farm, but the economy downturn in 2008 really hurt and it was mostly seasonal sites since then.

It was sold a couple of years ago and the new owner has slowly started to get it back into shape. It has a way to go, but is close to where I want to be and has full hookups.

I'm in site 43. The guy I text to get a reservation says it is a long pull through. It is very long, probably 100ft, but has a few obstructions that make it interesting.

The first is the downhill slope for the front half. The back half is flatter, but that puts the power post near your front corner and the other side has an interest tree right next to the gravel with a Y about 10 ft up that leans over the site.

If you are 42ft long with slides on both sides, you have to be pretty precise on where you park.

It does have a very nice concrete patio and fire pit.

A few more of the site. It's hard to tell the slope, but behind the Jeep it drops off to the road. It is already on a downhill from back to front.

And "the tree".

I'll add one more to Tigger92662.

We were up in Door County with them and a small group of friends.

Here are 4 of the 5 of us. Three on the right and I must have been bad, because they put me across the road on the left. :confused3

And I see you tied it down.

Looks good.

I thought the hitch would work, but not quite with the wind off the bay. I swapped that out for heavier things as the screw down peg wasn't able to screw down do to the stones. All good though. Only had the awning up when we were outside. It's windy at the beach. I regularly see awnings mangled, pop up enclosures in the dumps. I know better. ( just a little bit).

Set up at Wickham Park (a county park here in Melbourne, FL). Not much set up... it's a "hotel room" while we have our bittersweet dropping off our older son at college for first time. Mom is not ready and very distressed. I admit it is tough to think we are leaving him here (hence the second car.. he and mom drove in his car). Time to let him spread his wings and fly (literally as he will continue his flight training along with his other college studies). After we complete his move in and few days of orientation for us on Wednesday, the rest of us (myself, wife and younger son) are going to try and console ourselves with a day at Kennedy Space Center and then 3 nights at Fort Wilderness.

Drive down was western route from CT to avoid storm...PA, Interstate 81 to Knoxville then Chattanooga, Atlanta, and back across I-10 to 95...added about 3 hours total drive time...did it over 3 days... stayed at KOA's in Natural Bridge, VA and Forsyth, GA.tempImageeYcyWw.pngtempImageeYcyWw.pngtempImageeYcyWw.pngtempImagefbrku4.pngtempImageqLFRoo.png

Not really a campground, but our last "camping" trip in the motorhome.

I went to two of our community hospitals last week to do an in person with their leadership. They are about 2 hours from where I live and about 90 minutes apart. The first meeting was at 7:30am, so I took the RV and camped in their parking lot.

It worked well.
