Yeah tracy, won't be in chat tonight either ...can you write an excuse for me too??? :rotfl2:

Thanx again Paul (nydiscuisers)! I just love this PanCam page: http://www.seacruisechat.com/panamacanal/

I think the web cam pics there are much better than the official PanCam page because you can see all three in large mode. And you can scroll down to the calendar pages and see which ship(s) are scheduled to go through the canal each day. Fun!

I also love this graphic so much I am gonna post it here:

Oh and my countdown below has dropped the "and 1 week" so we are at 5 months now!

Thanks Nancy, love the map!!! have to print it when i get home!!

Sandygirl, got your PM!! Thanks a bunch!!!

I was at The Disney Store last night and, as of this past Thursday, The Disney Store no longer gives a discount (10%) for Disney Vacation Club members. Bummer!! I always counted on that little extra bit off. :(

WHAT?!?! I asked this question when the change took place and was told that we would continue to get the discount. Did anyone hear about this beforehand? It will certainly impact on my shopping at The Disney Store. And I love The Disney Store. But a discount is important to me and hard to lose once I have had it. Could you possibly have been given wrong information?

I wish it'd been wrong information! I shopped TDS a week or so ago and used my DVC card to get a discount; nothing was said about it ending. Then when I shopped TDS last night, I was passing the cash wrap desk and I overheard one CM was telling another that they can't accept Vacation Club cards anymore. I stopped in my tracks and asked him about it. He even showed me the piece of paper that was the memo from the home office or wherever stating that as of last Thursday, DVC cards are no longer accepted for discounts.

I haven't been to the DVC member website to see what it might say about this. Anyone else know any more about the change?

Canon Digital and Compact Photo Printer . . .

Okay all you photo afficiandos -- I need your advice. We are looking to buy a new Digital Camera and the Canon Compact Photo Printer. The only thing is, with the price of the paper/ink for this and you only get 36 prints, it seems more expensive than just having them developed. I thought it would save money. Can anyone who has this tell me the advantages? Thanks tons...

Cathy

Since the Childrens Place bought all TDS' except those at DL, WDW, and New York City, the non discount doesn't surprise me. CMs at TDS lost thier ticket discounts, also.

Why is it snowing still?

Hey Mel,
Since you won't be at chat, I won't be able to thank you for the gift there! So I'll have to do it here! Thanks. It was great!

I couldn't read the note too well...looks like it got wet and the ink ran! As near as I can tell, you would like the gift "completed" and returned! Am I right? I will get the cats working on that. Trying to train them right now to hit a smaller target. Had some misses, so the outside of the box may be messy!

By the way, thanks for putting a return address on the package. That way I won't have to ask for your address later! I thought you lived on a "Lane" but its really a "Lane Dr."-pretty high class!

Actually, I may not mail it to you...might get messy. Probably deliver it in person in August!

Several years ago we got the HP Compact photo printer. The thing we loved about it was we could take it with us and make prints immediately. We did it on our family cruise and I was able to print out the good ones and give them to the kids on the ship! You are probably right about the cost though. Not sure what you mean about the 36 prints...ours will make as many as you want if you have the paper and ink. The real advantage is portability and timeliness, not cost.

Cathy--

I think Bob is correct in his thoughts on the photo printer. Generally, you can get digital photos printed on the cheap from a wide variety of places. I have used many and have been pleased with most.

You'll probably have many locations located near you that will allow you to upload your photos from your home PC via their internet web sites. Then you can stop in the store and pick them up or many companies will ship them to you for postage. (Examples of these stores would be Ritz Camera, Wal Mart, drug stores, etc.) Many of these companies provide one hour photos if you upload them and pick them up at a location near you. (I use Ritz all the time.)

You can also purchase them off web based printers. Going through one of these companies requires, or course, that the prints be shipped to you.

All in all, the "printing them yourself" route is going to be more expensive than having someone else print them up for you. But, if you feel you would enjoy doing it yourself, the printer may be the way to go.
