Cathy, I think the advantage of digital versus film printing wise is that you can pick and choose which photos to print, manipulate the photos if you desire and print as many as you want the first time. Printing digital at home versus film at the processor is about the same cost-wise, especially when you take the above into account.

Kmiles, since you mentioned Ritz, I have to tell you what happened with our new digital waterproof camera. We called Ritz and asked them if they carried the brand we wanted. They did, but didn't have any so they would have to order it. They found out the company wouldn't be carrying that model anymore so they would have to get it from another store in the area. One had it and would send it on to them. When we got it and brought it home, the batteries were in the box, the camera wasn't wrapped in plastic, maybe not that unusual. I pushed the power button (before putting in the batteries) and it turned on then immediately off. We opened the housing and found the batteries were in the camera (but obviously dead). We put in the new batteries and there were two pictures on the camera! Pictures of the Ritz store! Doesn't look like I got a brand new camera afterall!

Exercise for seniors

Here is an exercise suggested for seniors, to build muscle strength in the arms and shoulders. It seems so easy, so I thought I'd pass it on to some of my friends. Just don't over-do it.

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5-LB. potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides, and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, then relax.

Each day, you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.

After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-LB. potato sacks. Then 50-LB.potato sacks, and eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-LB. potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

As for the DVC Discount ~ Yes it is true! It no longer exists!

I was at the DS this afternoon and the manager there told me that it was canned this past Wednesday!

It has been a rumour for quite awhile but no definate date was given!

Oh well, unless they bring back Adult Stuff, I won't be shopping there!

They will definately save me some money!

Nancy: I don't see why you couldn't use the booster as long as your DD is very close to its requirements. I still need to get Kaleigh's height so I know what I am doing.
I am pretty sure I am going to go this route for Emma (using a belt-positioning booster, aka a backless booster seat). At the time of the cruise in Aug. she will meet the age & height requirements and probably the weight requirement (or be very close).

I got to thinking about how I *thought* we only needed it for the shuttle from LAX to HISP, and then realized I may need it for the HISP shuttle to the port and the port-to-MCO bus (Mark is checking on the bus co.'s requirements, if any).

This booster will just be soooo much easier to travel with than her behemoth car seat. The booster is smaller, light weight and we can stash it in the luggage for our flight & then under the bed on the cruise (thanx for the storage offer Marsha, but I think we've found a solution!!).

If anyone is interested, these type booster seats typically cost about $15 and you can get them at ToysRUs, Walmart, etc. The requirements on ours (a Cosco) are at least one year of age, 29" tall and 30 pounds. These are federally approved for use in a motor vehicle, though not FAA approved.

Thanx, everyone for helping me "think outloud" to try and solve this problem. I hope others with car seat issues find a solution that is workable for them, too!

Since the Childrens Place bought all TDS' except those at DL, WDW, and New York City, the non discount doesn't surprise me. CMs at TDS lost thier ticket discounts, also.

Why is it snowing still?

It's still snowing here....we've gotten about 8-10" or so, and still coming down. Yuck.

make sure you check with the shuttle companies that you will have a shoulder belt for the booster. if the type of booster you are talking about is similar to this http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...gt_adv_XSD10000&AFID=SMX&ref=tgt_adv_XSD10000 they are not to be used with lap belts only.

As a Former TDS CM I remember the good old days of adult merchandise. . .Hell, I still have most of it. :earseek:

Our lives have finally come full circle folks. First we all talked to our friends on the phone and then along came the internet. We gave up our local friends and made new ones around the world online. With the advent of VOIP and unlimited nights and weekends, we're once again talking on the phone, except now it's with our new friends from across the globe.

If you think it's weird putting faces to the names, you should try putting voices to the faces and names.

Good Morning All!

Off to see my future SIL play in a local golf tournament today! Supposed to be about 80 today (temperature-not score).

I guess chat really is addicting! Mel and Dan, who both begged for excuses to get out of chat last night, showed up anyway!

Children's Place (Hoop Retail) did buy the Disney Store chain, but the Stores in DL, WDW and NYC are not "Disney Store" stores....they are owned and run by The Walt Disney Company, a separate part of the company than what the Disney Stores were. I know it is confusing but the TDS chain was a separate entity from the rest of the stores owned by the Walt Disney Company...they had different discounts and policies than the stores at DL, WDW. The one in NYC used to be a true Disney Store but after it's remodel last year it is now one of the ones owned by The Walt Disney Company (like the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney) and those CMs get the same discounts and benefits as if they were working in Walt Disney World.

And, sadly, yes...all TDS CM's lost their discounts to the Disney parks, resort hotels, and CRUISE!!! They still get discounts on merchandise in the Disney Stores (owned by Children's Place).

I am not surprised that they do not offer the DVC discount anymore as they are not run by Disney anymore. They are still working out all the kinks in the transition from Disney ownership to Children's Place ownership.

Too many days out of the loop...can't keep up with you all! Just stopped by to say hello. Still no airline ressies here...waiting until SW posts their ressies beyond 8/3...then USair will match.

A Sunday Joke:

What a Child Hears...

A visiting minister spoke eloquently during the offertory prayer.
"Dear Lord" he began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. "Without you we are but dust. . . "

He would have continued but at that moment, a very obedient daughter (who was listening!) leaned over to her mother and asked quite loudly in her shrill little girl voice, "Mom, what is butt dust?"
