I hope everyone had a great weekend! I have been pretty busy around here. I am in charge of a week of camp for girls 12-18 in our church, and it just happens to be the week before this cruise. :scared1: I have been having a hard time staffing for camp this year. I have been able to find and nurse, most of the kitchen crew, and a few other people for different areas. I have been having a difficult time finding a lifeguard. But last night I might have found one. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she comes through for us, otherwise the girl won't be able to swim. I don't want to have 55 unhappy girls up there! LOL

We have less than three weeks before we leave on our cruise! I am getting so excited about it!! Looking forward to our stop in Bermuda!!

Wow so much goes on here when ever I forget to log on for a day!
Jen, so happy you are back with us!

Kristin, the egg hunt sounds like it was a lot of fun (and alot of work!)

Laura, thanks for posting the video, I get more excited about this trip everyday. How is your leg doing?

Ginny, the sweet 16 party sounds awesome. I've only got 2 more years before I'll have to plan one of those for my daughter.

Candy, I know what you are going through, I used to be the director for our local Girl Scout camp with 150 girls ages 4-17. It is alot of work getting everything in order, hopefully everything will go smooth for your camp. I know you will need the vacation afterward! :thumbsup2

Welcome back Jen! :yay:

Feel better vibes to the Hopes and everyone else down with illnesses.

I'm BACK!

Here is the long and short of it all....I have been trying to work with my TA to switch our August 2011 cruise with all of you to a July 2012 cruise because of a bunch of trainings that my boss wanted me to do. Told family we could not cruise this year, told all of you I wouldn't be on the ship and sadness settled in. Got TA to work on pricing and I set out to plan a wonderful 2-week trip to the east coast for this summer in July. My plans were all in place to go to NY and CT - hotel rooms reserved, schedules coordinated with Jude and Kristin, maps ordered from AAA, etc. Family was feeling happier that there would be a fun summer vacation and we were all excited to see the east coast! Prices came back from TA for the 2012 cruises and I was not happy at all with the pricing when I compared it to the price we had. I talked with DH and then talked with my boss. I showed him what my plans were, what the prices of the different cruises would be and asked if I worked on a new training plan....would he reconsider giving me the time off. The important thing to note - I am not really suppose to work until the last week in August. My schedule is suppose to follow the teacher schedule. This training is something special that I am suppose to be able to say "I am not available" for. So, I worked out a totally new plan and this morning...it was APPROVED!

We will be on the ship with you all! :yay:

A HUGE thank you to Kristin for taking over the FE and to Janeanne for taking over the lanyards....you all are doing great with it and now I am excited to request to have my family join in with the FE and get some lanyards!!!!!

Happy Monday Everyone!
Jen

Welcome back Jen! :cheer2:

Get well wishes going out to those under the weather :wizard:

Good Luck Candy with getting all of your camp stuff in order..I know camp is a ton of work for you!! But I also know last year it was great for the kids....!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Crazy weekend here.

Dh performed with his alumni corps (we met while marching w/ a drum corps and he then went on to march in another that has an active alumni corp) in Harrisburg on Saturday night.

We all went out Friday night and the kids and I amused ourselves in the empty auditorium while the corps rehearsed. Saturday the kids and I slept in while dh went to rehearsal. We hit the State Museum (which was okay...but NO ONE was there...maybe 20 people in the entire 4 floors? :confused3) before lunch, then took naps afterwards in expectation of staying up late.

Dh's corps did really well and the kids enjoyed seeing daddy play his drums! :cool2:

After coming home yesterday afternoon we had a lazy few hours and then watched Despicable Me (I love Netflix!). I was pleasantly surprised how cute it was!

I finally decided on and purchased a bag for my trips this summer. I went with one from REI since we had a hefty dividend and a 20% off coupon... only $6.10 out of my pocket at the register!

Here is the one I picked...in Midnight Plum.

I've been using if for a bit over a week now as my everyday bag and it has been really great. I think it is going to work out well for me.

In other news I booked two airplane tickets to go out to Oregon for my sister's graduation for me and dd. They were just a bit over $400/ea when I bought them and are now over $800!!! :scared1: I'm glad I got them when I did!

I hope all those that are ill or under the weather get better soon! It was over 80 degrees here today...but we are due for rain again tomorrow.

Jen I'm glad to hear everything worked out w/ your job and you can join us! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!!

The girls went to this spa with my cousin called the "Sundae Spa" it was soo VERY cute. They got ice-cream sundaes....and their hair done!! So cute. They had soaps in the shape of cupcakes!! There was a chocolate bunny there that looked and smelled like chocolate but it was body soap!!

Then today we had a HUGE Easter Egg Hunt at our house. Bruce set up the bounce house and the kids played on the trampoline, bounce house, and swing-set. They ran through the entire back yard looking for the 325 eggs that we had hidden. They had a ton of FUN!!

Hoping that tomorrow I can get some rest. I have strep-throat and it does not seem to be going away!!I am sureit is because I have not been able to get any rest!! I still need to pack we leave for Disney World on Friday for 11 days!! YEAH!!

Hope everyone else had a nice weekend!!

Sounds like they had a great time.!!

I'm BACK!

What a great weekend!!
Good thing you booked those flights when you did!

Oh My!! It has been a busy board today!!

Let me see if I can capture some of it in a poem (I know, I'm kinda corny!!)

The August 16th Disney Dream Double Dip
Is turning out to be quite the trip
There sure is a lot to prepare
Before we all get there!

So far, thirty nine families are joining the fish extender swap
Thanks to Kritter it won't be a flop!
Janeanne is ordering lanyards, will they be yellow or green?
Be sure to PM her, so she knows how many you need!

Jen Anderson is back and cruising with us, we are glad to hear!
Laura is resting her leg, so please send her some cheer!
Disfanica is camping with lots of girls the week before we escape
let's hope she finds a lifeguard or it will be a LONG week at the lake!

Ginny had a fab party for her daugher's birthday
All the planning went well--hip hip horray!
FJS961 took his Ferrari out on the road
Finally, a weekend that it had not snowed!

And others are planning their 2012 trips, but I have my sights focused on this GREAT Double Dip!

I am looking foward to cruising with you all!!
