As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Pin code info

We booked WL CL with a pin dd received in her email.

The email was her college one(she is a sophomore so only has that 1.5 yr)

The address was last years dorm !!!

So we deduced that when she ordered a dvd (trip planning one)to watch at school she got put on the list:thumbsup2

I recommend ordering a planning dvd, it's free and it may get you a pin code:banana:

I called CRO and they changed address to our home one and I was able to book even though in her name because I was going with her:cool1:

Thanks! I think this is what we'll do. We'll use the plan for all TS meals so hopefully no confusion!

Good luck with everything! Wonderful that your trip is so close. :)

We're trying to RC for my parents - switching them from POFQ to join us in Poly GV CL as a gift. By the time I went to make the change, the discounted Poly GV CL room was gone. Boo.

I am so glad you were able to grab them a room! I hate when I have it all figured out and wrenches come flying in to mess it up... love it when magic can still happen, though!

:thumbsup2 almost done!! You must be getting excited ! What an adventure!

Adventure is truly the word! DD7 has taken to yelling "Adventure is out there" and doing the Wilderness Explorer sounds... I think it's a great way of letting us know she's a little anxious but excited and it always gets a laugh. :rotfl:

Happy Holidays peeps!

I am trying WL CL so I guess that is a change from my usual monorail resort bookings ;)

Where is Heather with all of her great pics???

Any advice from people that have stayed there???

Mom and I are still talking about our poly trip. It was AWESOME:woohoo:

She loved coffee made in the morning, the tree and decorations in the lounge, and the great food offerings. Oh and the view was amazing she said:goodvibes

We didn't stay CL but we visited for a bit coming back from doing Flag Family. It looked nice and I love that there is seating around the floor overlooking the lobby - we saw several families with excited kiddos getting ready for the day. Liked WL a lot - beautiful resort and great staff - and recently when my parents stopped through for a look they couldn't get over how great of an escape it was from Florida... and as someone who has been out to Yellowstone bunches, it is amazing how real it feels.

So happy to hear more about your trip with your mom! Just upgraded my parents from POFQ to Poly CL for their last night and I'm so excited for them to join us in Hawaii!! (I think it's the most excited I've ever been for a resort change!)

Funny about WL CL! We always seem to be in the same zone here. We've stayed at WL before, but never CL and our first-ever WL CL stay will be at the end of March! So once again, can't wait to hear your report. :)

Hawaii!!! <3! So much fun- I miss it so much!!! I want to see pics!!!

Yes, so much, order the DVD each year!!! Also, I swear after we did the DVC tour we got PIN codes every other month for 3 years. We only did it to see what it was about and get the FPs they were offering, but the saving opportunities were so worth it, too!

Our house is packed and tomorrow will be totally loaded. The kids are running through and being nuts and the dogs are nervous... so, all in all, a normal move! ::yes::
Once the truck leaves tomorrow, we're sneaking DD7 out of school early and going to her favorite local museum and then going to dinner with another family who are moving next week. I am worried the stress of everything is building and with such good friends also leaving, we thought surprising her with an afternoon of hooky.

Saturday I can truly focus on the trip and be all giddy and excited like I want to be!!! I can't go into detail now, but I will say I have the most amazing story of Disney magic in the works right now with just a little sprinkle of Santa - seriously, it's stuff like this that makes me so sure there are some amazing forces out there. I PROMISE to fill in details when we check in, but for now I will say it's worth the wait!!! :santa:

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a happy weekend!!!

:thumbsup2 congrats on pin code! Which one was it? I (finally) got one for last Jsnuary trip for free dining, so took it. But really I'd rather have a room discount. Although we made the most with the free DDp, booked around three 2TS meals, buy just paying OOP for some dinners that we just ate at CS to save credits. So we had Cali Grille, Fultons, & Jiko dinners. We enjoyed it, but the DDP on the whole is just too much food.

Dimndgal that's too funny about your daughter!!

Can't wait to hear about Santa's Magic.

Playing hooky sounds great!

The pin had 35%off deluxe 30%off mod and 20%off values/room only.

I hadn't gotten once since her jr yr in HS.

That's the same as the AP discount we booked with for this January. We have 30% off ️POR. 40 days

Hi, my name is Krystin and I have become a resort changer :thumbsup2

We have a triple split stay coming up in January.

Final Destinations (unless I have an urge again, which is an all good possibility!)
BCV Jan 12-16
WL Jan 16-22
CBR Jan 22-28

Originally we were booked at BC CL and WL CL

Well that became BVC (with our DVC points) and WL CL

Then BVC to WL Courtyard View

Then added Pop Century after WL

Now, changed Pop Century to CBR.

I hope I am done, but since we are in a Standard View at CBR I am tempted to go to a King Bed.

Just when I think I am done I find something else to change. I think I have a problem. :lmao:

Ya, it gets so hard to pick one! ;)

We will be at WL at same time :wave2:

Just popping in to tell my little RC story. I'll be going to Disney in January. We started off booked at POP. When discounts were released, we moved to POFQ. And one night I was researching how much it would be to switch to either at AKL or WL and saw how inexpensive WL would be if we upgraded...SO we changed to WL for our stay! :cool1:

Looking at CBR, AOA, or another value for December 2015. We will need a suite or 2 rooms so trying to save money...

CBR was our first WDW resort! I liked the tropical feel & those hammocks on the beach :goodvibes. We were in Jamaica on the lake path close to the pool. I thought it was a great location, close to bus stop, and a short walk over bridge to food court and main pool. The new rooms look really nice. Loved the landscaping, and how tranquil the resort was.
We could see the higher Illuminations from our walkway outside room too.

New rooms do look nice, but they are more expensive now...? Leaning toward a Finding Nemo family suite at AOA at the moment...can anybody comment on bus situation?

Not sure if CBR is more expensive. We are going in mid to late January and I was looking at moderates with the Late Winter discount, and CBR was cheaper then POR. Dunno :confused3. I booked POR anyway, it's our fav mod.

AOA looks super cute. We only walked around and had lunch to check it out once. Mermaid section wasn't even open. But we took bus over from AK, then took bus back to AK (we were staying at AKL). From my limited bus use at AoA, it seemed good. They don't share so that's nice.

The renovated rooms shouldn't be more expensive. They have only completed the Aruba and Jamaica sections and you can get a Standard, King or Water/Pool view in those areas.

I booked a Standard using the Passholder discount and requested either one of those sections.

I priced out December 2015 (2 preferred rooms) and they were more expensive than CSR or FQ. Also more expensive than the family suite (all at rack rate right now) so...we will see... :-)

Maybe they are thinking by that time, more of the resort will have the renovated rooms, so it could be possible they have raised the rate.

I'm working on a Nov/Dec 2015 trip and I totally want to stay at a deluxe but have no idea which one! I was certain I wanted the Contemporary now I'm thinking grand Floridian but my daughter wants the poly!!!

But more pressing decisions are for Feb.... I have a lunch reservation for liberty tree tavern... Don't know of we want or need it, also can't figure out if I should get seasonal passes or regular and upgrade when we get there

That may explain it? I wasn't looking at preferred rooms. Also I was looking at price for Jan 2015 time period, for our trip. So different season.

I am going to WL soon myself. Have you seen the videos on allears.net? They are great:cool1:

My last stay was 8/13 and busses were fine.

Dd and I had Martinique a few years ago and it was so far from everything. We liked Aruba and Jamaica from previous trips as well.

My last trip I finally paid for a preferred and couldn't believe how much more enjoyable our trip was with that convenience.

I love all the monorail resorts but I would pick poly myself. Ds likes cr, dh likes gf and dd likes cr only if MKV , then poly .

Haven't tried ltt . hopefully someone else can help out.

Hello, all! WELCOME to the newcomers! I love seeing all the trips in the works but can't offer much insight to the resorts listed - we haven't hit the values, CBR, or monorail resorts... yet. I will say, however, that we truly found a split-stay can be a great way to satisfy the pull between two resorts and make things more budget friendly. YC was my dream resort but the cost of a week in summer was too high, so we split with a POR RR which my daughter was in love with... best of both worlds and everyone was happy! Our next stay we are shooting for AKL-SV/CR-TPV when we get back from Japan... I already can't wait!

I am sitting in a (mostly) empty house, counting down the minutes until we roll out for Disney! I was right -- the move definitely kept me from obsessing over the trip but now I have plenty of time to tweak... as much as anyone can during Christmas week! So, in the meantime, I am packing and repacking. I am also excited that I was able to build some Disney Bounding outfits for this trip on a budget... hoping that adds some fun to the insanity!

I did have an amazing moment yesterday: DH and I decided to cancel DD7's BBB rezzie - they have one at Tokyo Disney and we can go when her hair is longer (they also have cuter hairstyles!). I went on the boards and happened upon a "Dec BBB cancel" thread and was able to touch base with someone who had been looking for a BBB rezzie for over a month. We were able to contact Disney and the CM snagged it for her as I cancelled mine.:banana::banana: I'm glad that even though we couldn't use it, someone who really wanted it got it! :lovestruc ((I'm such a sap!!!))

I hope everyone has a happy Monday!
