Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Chocolate! (Sigh!)

I love a good chocolate ice cream. My current favorite is the Publix store brand Chocolate Fudgy Brownie, a decadent dark chocolate ice cream with brownie bits.

Chocolate cereal. I like Cocoa Wheats hot cereal, and many of the chocolate cold cereals. I feel less naughty snacking on a chocolate cereal than a chocolate dessert.

A high quality chocolate candy. There is a local chocolatier near where my sister lives, and their stuff is so delicious. I also like Laderach chocolate (my sister buys that brand for holidays). But even a decent quality grocery store chocolate, like Ghirardelli, Godiva, or Russell Stover will set my mouth to watering.

Good Sunday Morning!

For Yesterday……

#1 - Hershey’s Syrup - To put on vanilla ice cream or mint chocolate chip ice cream

Speaking of chocolate chips….

#2 - Chocolate Chips - I can’t make my awesome chocolate chip cookies without them

#3 - Chocolate Chex Cereal - So Good! I just finished a box a few days ago.

For Today……

Since I’m headed to the gym soon to workout my body I’ll focus on that….

#1 - Strong Abs - Gives me good balance, stability and posture

#2 - Strong Biceps - Helps me lift and pull heavy things

#3 - Strong Quads - Helps me with walking and climbing stairs

Chocolate things:
I'm not a chocolate fan so this is a little challenging. However, I do like chocolate shakes or malts, white chocolate Lindt balls, and chocolate bitters in my Old Fashioned.

My body:
I heal quickly from surgery.
I'm not aging as quickly as my peers seem to be aging.
Overall, I'm healthy for my age: No blood sugar or blood pressure concerns, no chronic medical issues that need medication-management, etc. The two surgeries I've had recently were mostly elective although both supported my overall well-being. Ageism is real, though; it's actually a little insulting when I go to walk in care and there are no "daily meds" on my intake form. They'll ask if I'm sure, perhaps it might be called something like X, Y, or Z? and I'm like nope, nothing. Sometimes they ask "are you sure" again. I get it, I get that they see folks whose health is failing and they don't understand/remember, but jeez, it can be annoying.

My super thick hair even after having gone through menopause I still have thick hair not as thick as it used to be but it’s still thick I’m very grateful for that granted it has a mind of its own and does what it pleases us and always has I’ve learned to live with that I gave up on it a long time ago and just let it do it thing because it’s gonna do it anyway I don’t even come at most of the time because it just does what it wants to do and you’re thinking your hair must be a wild mess no not really it just falls into place a place that decides it’s going to be and that’s just how it is I mean you could style it if you wanted to but it’s just an hour later gonna fall back the way it wants to be

My tolerance to pain - I have an extremely high tolerance to pain I think that must be something you inherit since it seems to run on my mother side of the family but considering some of the things I’ve had happened to me and had to go through and I had to go through them without pain medication because I’m allergic to most of them I’m very grateful that I have a high tolerance to pain that can also work against you as you can have something wrong with you and not even know it much I’ve had happened to be on a few occasions

Your ability to adapt to endure to overcome to always seek better joy and happiness but most of all the ability to be grateful I am exceptionally happy that I do have the fortitude to be grateful to count my blessings to have empathy to have compassion I’m working on forgiveness that’s a hard one because you must remember that once not for the other person that one’s for yourself and that’s what makes it a hard one because your brain tells you it’s for the other person but it’s not it’s for yourself - but haven’t grown up in an environment or these things were not taught I’m really grateful for everything that I have and I’m very blessed and I’m very grateful that I know these things then I’m able to see and comprehend that I do know these things your mind is a wonderful thing and I’m very grateful that I have friends that sometimes they need to tell me you need to let that go and count your blessings🙏😊😇 they helped to keep me grounded and I’m grateful I can do that it takes a village ❤️

1. My health - I've been fairly fortunate in my lifetime so far that I've never had any serious injuries, hospitalisations or health issues.Got a few niggles but nothing major and certainly nothing that stops me from being able to get out and about and do what I love.

2. My tattoos & piercings - I know they aren't for everyone but I feel like these express a little of my personality. I haven't got anything unusual or too crazy or out there, but I like that they help me express myself.

3. My eyesight - I needed glasses from when I was fairly young and I always hated that, especially as i was short sighted and couldnt see anything distance wise. So when I was old enough I had laser eye surgery and even now 16 years later, I still wake up and appreciate being able to see long distance perfectly.

I have always had very strong and healthy teeth. Maybe 4 cavities in my whole life? My gums, not so much, but if I can keep them healthy, I will hopefully have all of my teeth into old(er) age!

I am grateful that my body (with help from radiation) beat cancer 6 years ago.

I am grateful every day when I can have a good walk, especially if there is minimal pain in my knees and feet. My legs have always been strong.

DVC I love staying in the properties for DVC they’re so nice and I love hearing the words welcome home ❤️

Disney Cruiseline- I’ve enjoyed a lot od Disney cruises 🚢 and I especially love both private islands but with that being said castaway cay will always be my favorite ❤️

Disney Artwork 🖼️ I enjoy having his new artwork because it’s like having DISNEY with me all the time

Disney Clothes & Purses 👛 I wear it proudly almost daily I get made fun of I don’t care it’s cute it’s fun it’s really fun at the airport when they wanna pack you down like you’re a terrorist and you’re looking at them going I’m decked out in Disney gear do I really look like I’m about to go do something dangerous🤣🤣🤣🤣

1. My Next Disney Trip - there's nothing better than that feeling you get when you've got a Disney trip to look forward to, whether it's one you've booked or one you're in the process of booking. Its such a nice feeling to have one of these trips to look forward to. My next one is HK and Shanghai in November 🥳

2. Tower of Terror - this has been my favourite ride since I was a kid, and i think I loved it more than others as it was one of the few rides that didnt make me feel nauseous. I could ride it all day and it'd still put a smile on my face.

3. Disney pyjamas - pretty much every set of pyjamas i own is Disney related, and the cheaper fashion retailer in the UK seems to make so many different types and I want to buy them all! Pjs are my go to clothing in the evening when I want to relax and Disney ones make that even better.

Only three???

ALL my Disney trips. I've been very fortunate in being able to visit so many times. Back when we couldn't afford it, I was lucky to have a brother in law who was a flight attendant, cast member, and timeshare owner. The benefits of these three things made trips with my sister and nieces very, very manageable. Now I still watch the budget but am lucky that I can afford a solo trip every year, and usually one more (even if it's non-parks, just to eat, drink, and enjoy Disney World).

My Mickey Head Ornaments. My sister gave me these. It's a set of 12 blown glass ornaments, just mickey's head and ears (no facial features), about as big over as a silver dollar. They are colorful and fun, and it makes me smile to see them on my Christmas tree.

Wow... my salt and pepper shakers? I have 3 sets... Snow White kissing Dopey's bald little head, Pooh leaning up against Eeyore, Pooh and Tigger supporting a big ol' honey pot. My Disney jewelry? A Pooh watch, an eeyore watch, numerous rings and earrings. My sweat shirts and tee shirts? It's SO HARD to limit this topic to just three things; I love them all!

So did you get any other vintage Tupperware...I have a rare orange square lidded caddy.. I use a vintage white plastic measuring pitcher to receive the ice from the bag in the freezer to be crushed for coffee beverage... Nice ROUND vessel with handle.....lots of vintage Tupperware here in Yuma.. the rummage sale had a fantastic 20 pc set in good shape... display in the treasure section of the sale..so spendy

Not yet, but I know my mom still has some lovely pieces in the trendy 70s orange, brown, and green. :)
