Around WDW in 14 days - a pre-trip report

Congrats on getting your tickets!!
I am on the fence on whether to get the MNSSHP tickets now or wait until it's closer to the time and check the weather. It's risking that it'll sell out, but if we get the tickets for a specific date and it's nasty weather we lose out:sad2: I just don't know what to do:confused3, what made you decide to go with getting the tickets?

YAY on getting your MNSSHP and IOA tickets!!! :dance3:

It sure does make the trip seem more real. We are doing the same and getting the one day IOA ticket. It just makes sense as we will be spending most of our day in that park.

Also I am waiting on MNSSHP to see if we can afford to part with the extra money and if the weather will hold up on the day we want to attend.

Costumes: My thoughts are Peter Pan and Tinkerbell but I could be wrong.

The main reason we decided to get the tickets now really comes down to my impatience! Once I know I'm planning on doing something I can't rest till I have it booked, have the tickets etc. Another reason was to do with the financial side of things - the tickets are our last big outlay for the trip and with those under our belt all we really have to worry about is spending money.

I totally understand the concern about the weather - we went in 2009 and though it was dry it was really cold and kind of put a damper on the night, especially as we missed the Villains Mix and Mingle and the second parade because we were too cold to hang around. On the other hand, I think we'll be better prepared for it this year, have a better idea of what to expect from the party itself and what the weather might be like, so come rain or shine we will be there!

Also, when we were there in 2009, there were still tickets available for each of the MNSSHP nights. Obviously depends on what night you're hoping to attend on and I don't know if that would be the same every year, but if you would rather hold off before getting the tickets I don't think there's too much of a risk of them selling out.

As they say on Catchphrase, it's good but it's not right :rotfl: More previews and clues to come. . .

I was telling some people at work about my 1-day ticket and right away everyone was saying "why didn't you just get a 2 park ticket? What about Jaws? What about The Mummy?" :stir: Totally chipping away at my resolve!!!

I am convinced though that when I get there I will be so absorbed in WWOHP that I won't have time to think about Universal Studios. Repeat - I do not need to go on Jaws, I do not need to go on Jaws, I do not need to go on Jaws. . .

Thanks for your input, but I am too much like you......impatient:rotfl:, and I bought our tickets last night:rotfl2::banana: Now I just need to update my PTR!

Love it!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only impatient one!

That's so great you got the tickets, what date are you going on? Now the real question is. . .are you going in costume?

I was too nervous to wait, with my luck it would sell our or more likely I would spend the money on something else and not have enough to get tickets:rotfl: We're going on October 6, while Dh and I might wear a halloween themed t-shirt we likely won't dress in costume. As for the kids I'm not sure:confused3, I will wait and ask them once they know about it, I guess.

I now have an image of Roy Walker stuck in my head - thanks!! :rotfl: Aaw I so wanted to be right...maybe next time.

Reading what your friends have said is making me think about those rides however when I asked people to choose one park over the other it was IOA all the way! I will join your mantra I do not need to go on Jaws as well. Maybe if we both say it it will have greater effect!!

A little surprise package arrived from FedEx on Wednesday . . .

:cool1: So surprised with how quickly these arrived - we were expecting them in a couple of weeks, couldn't believe it when the arrived just a few days after we ordered them!

Just another thing to make it all seem so real :rotfl:

After a bit more debate and discussion, we eventually decided to cancel our ADR for the breakfast at Tusker House. I was updating some information in the planning binder a couple of days ago and while looking at our itinerary I realised that we were going to Tusker House the same morning as our Le Cellier dinner (we made the TH reservation a few days after Le Cellier and didn't really think what we were doing later that day at the time)

I know it's not really that big a deal, but after thinking about it some more I just felt that I wanted Le Cellier to be our only ADR for that day. It probably sounds silly but I've always wanted to eat at Le Cellier and I really want it to be the standout meal that day. Slightly more rationally, we are paying OOP for all our table service meals so the two combined would be a big hole in our daily budget - less dollars means less shopping for me :lmao: So since it was really a bit of an impulsive ADR that neither of us are really too interested in we are cancelling this.

That still leaves us with 9 ADRs in 14 days!

Outside of Le Cellier, it's hard to say which one I'm looking forward to most. The most obvious choice would be Tony's since we missed out on this on our last trip, and I'm really looking forward to the Lady and the Tramp touches, but I'm also excited to try Ohana for dinner and Teppan Edo. Though if I continue this line of thought, I can think of a reason why I'm excited about everywhere left on my list :rotfl:

I have really enjoyed Ohana in the past, and since it has been 3 years or so since our last time there, we are hoping to get ADR's for dinner.

I'm really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere here at dinner as we've been here for the character breakfast. It was actually a bit of a last minute addition (as much as you can make a last minute addion 179 days out :rotfl:) as we hadn't originally intended to make a reservation for dinner, but some of the photos on the food porn thread eventually convinced me to try this out!

Our reservation is for 7.50pm, so I'm hoping to be finishing our meal in time for Wishes starting, can't wait to watch this from the beach at the Polynesian

We have also booked a late dinner at 'OHana in hopes of watching Wishes from the Poly beach. It's a new experience and we're looking forward to it. What day are you going?
Congrats on getting your tickets, it makes it seem more real, doesn't it?!
Great photo! I love it!

Great photo! I love it!

We have booked it for 4 October, at the end of another full day at MK. We're trying a lot of different types of meals this time around, instead of the usual burger, hot dogs, pizza that usually makes up our theme park diets :rotfl: Another thing I'm looking forward to is the chance to sit down, relax and soak up some atmosphere in the restaurants.

That's a great photo. I've never seen that as this will be our first time at Port Orleans!
Guess what?!! We're booked at 'OHana for Oct. 4 as well!! Our ADR is for 7pm.

Yay on getting your IOA tickets!! :woohoo:

I think you are right in cancelling Tusker House and keeping Le Cellier as your main meal on that day. Enjoy all your meals!

I also love the Port Orleans photo - not long until you will actually be there! :yay:
