Around WDW in 14 days - a pre-trip report

I've been away from the boards for a while and feel soooo behind it everyones plans!!! lol I'm trying to play catch-up now!
Sorry to hear about the wind damage to your wall/fence area. Glad that no one was hurt and I hope the cost won't be too much for repairs.
LOVE the purse/bag that you got for the park! I have yet to do much shopping for the trip, but it's coming soon, I can 'feel' it! lol I did order transfers for the t-shirts and am anxiously awaiting their arrival.

I've done TOT for my first and last time! lol Dd loved it though, so I've told Dh this trip it's his turn to do it! As for Mission Space, none of us have done it, so it'll be a first for us too, if we're brave enough that is! lol

Welcome back! I was away for about a week and I had missed sooooo much, only just catching up with everything now

I am reserving judgement (or trying to) on Mission Space, but let's just say I expect it to be a very anxious wait in that queue. I will be nervous about ToT too but I'm not telling DH that or he'll never go on!

...you are transferring It's a Small World song from your park CD onto your PC so you can have it as your ring tone :rolleyes1

. . .you have spent the last two hours looking at the Disney Food Porn thread

. . .your garden wall is blown down in a storm and your first thought is "how will this affect my trip to Disney?"

. . .you go to the hairdresser and get excited when the stylist tells you that she's having a Disney-themed birthday party and she's dressing up as Belle

. . .you rarely know what date it is but always know how many days till Disney

. . .you are about to watch Tangled while eating dinner!

I was pleasantly surprised with how much my family enjoyed Hall of Pres! Country Bears was good, too.

I don't recall getting "yelled" at by Gary on M:Space, LOL! I rode this one on our 2007 trip... had I known beforehand how sick it would make me feel, I would have done the "Green Team". Oy. Never again. It may be that I don't remember the reminders from Gary during the ride itself because I spent the whole time telling myself not to throw up!
:lmao:

Oh, and I loved the "Disney addict" post! :rotfl:

Oh, and I loved the "Disney addict" post! :rotfl:

It's definitely one of the more irrational fears I've ever had! I don't think the particular guide book did the ride justice, I remember reading it and thinking "what's fun about that?" Of course since joining the boards all I've read about is how sick everyone feels after it, and now I'm thinking "what's fun about that?" :lmao: Nevertheless, I'm determined not to chicken out - DH really wants to ride this and I hate being defeated by any attraction!

I'd like to live here! :worship:

Random, but I love this photo - anyone guess where this was taken?

(Photo has turned out huge for some reason!!)

No new pics for the time being (I'm still deciding between t-shirt transfers and fabric paints to complete part of my costume), but more will follow soon. . .

In the meantime, here are some more clues.

It's more of a homage to a character than a replica of their outfit, which would be WAY too hot for September. . .

To create my head piece I will be using a head/hair band, some ribbon, pipe cleaners and pom poms. To achieve the full effect I would require face paint. And a lot of it. . .

The character I am going as is famous for a particular phrase. . .

Great random photo – I think that may belong to BTMRR but could be wrong!

Still clueless to the costume – your description just confuses me even further :confused3

Maybe if you mentioned the famous catchphrase I may just get it, lol!

Not sure about the photo... but my guess is it's from somewhere inside DHS?

Also clueless about the costume. I was thinking Mad Hatter at first, but not anymore!

Another random photo from previous adventures. . .

This is from our first trip in 2008. You'll notice the absence of any other people - this was first thing in the morning on our first full day. We were attending the Virgin Holidays welcome meeting in Raglan Road to meet our holiday rep - the intention was to complain about our off site hotel but by the time I had walked from one side of Downtown Disney to the other I didn't car about the hotel anymore!

I have wanted to eat at Fulton's Crab House since this day, it looks so beautiful. Why haven't I? I'm not the world's greatest fan of seafood, and neither is DH, and I've always been a bit worried that it would look odd if we both ordered non-seafood dishes. But, never say never (did I just quote Justin Bieber? :scared1:), maybe we'll go there one day this trip.

The last photo of the day was from Tom Sawyer's Island in the Magic Kingdom.

So, in the course of trip planning, I have a tendency to jump from one topic to another, and at any given time one particular subject will, to me, be of epic, be all and end all importance.

The current topic I am spending way too much time thinking about is sunscreen.

I am incredibly pale. Pale as in if I sit still too long someone may attempt to revive me. Buffy would be inclined to stake me. So, to prevent me turning the same shade as Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, I use a lot of sun screen while touring the parks. Or the resort. Or while outside. Or while looking outside from a sealed room. Just in case.

I have yet to find the perfect sunscreen for the parks. I've used a few different brands on the last few trips but I can't seem to find one I really like. Last trip we used Nivea lotion which was good but for the parks I find lotion really messy and a lot of my clothing ended up stained.

I saw a lot of people using spray lotions, the kind in the cans that look like mist sprays, and it looked a lot easier to apply that the lotions. I've picked up a few cans of Banana Boat high factor spray that you don't have to rub in. I'm waiting for a sunny day here in Scotland (not holding my breath!) so I can try it out before I go. Anyone have any experience of using these kinds of sun screen or any recommendations?

I have read some bad reviews of Fulton's recently so doesn't look like you are missing out on anything by not eating at this place!

Yay I was at the right park with the last photo - just pictured it on the wrong attraction!

Good luck with holding out for a sunny day in Scotland!! I use a lotion sunscreen so can't be of much help with the spray ons. However, am looking forward to seeing what people say about the spray option and if it is better then lotion.

Boy, I was way off on that last photo... I didn't even have the correct park, LOL!

I like the spray sunscreens better than lotions. Especially with kids, it's much easier to spray them and be done than to have to rub a lotion in. Banana Boat is a good brand. Neutrogena Spectrum is good, too.

Fifteen weeks today I'll be making my way around the Magic Kingdom :cool1:

I have been woefully neglecting the Disboards recently but have made a few more random trip purchases. . .

Found these online and thought they would be terrific for the water parks. We are thinking about spending some time in one of the water parks before MNSSHP, though haven't decided which one. We've been in Blizzard Beach once though it was only for a couple of hours and I wasn't even in the water :sad2: so looking forward to it this time around.
