Ive been hesitant to mention this here due to the wrath of the blue card holders, but we are also on a discounted DVC pass with just a white card(family of 4). It should be said that I mentioned the proper requirements back to the CMs multiple times and they insisted I qualified.
It started for me when I joined the early Ap holder reactivation process. We previously had our out of state regular price platinums as white card holders. The AP reinstatement team set me up with DVC renewal prices without my knowledge. Once I saw what I owed I knew it was too little, so I called back to let them know as I didn't want to go through the hassle at the parks. As I knew Id be denied when they ask for my blue card. They insisted it was the right prices. I figured they weren't DVC experts and waited to take care of it in person. Fast forward to a few moths later and we are at WDW and Im picking up the physical cards at guest services at Epcot. As I go up to renew I once again state "Hey I believe Im getting the blue card benefit here". The CM not only said I qualified but said they may owe me cash back??? And went back to the office for a several minutes saying he still thinks they owe me cash back but couldn't clarify. They only card I offered was the digital version on my phone in
MDE.
Long story short(too late) we have DVC Platinum APs now. They renew in June 2022, and while we may not be renewing any longer due to all of the "Chapek Changes", if we do I will be honest again.
Im chalking this up to staffing shortages and new hires who don't understand the requirements. But I spoke to multiple parties through the process and they all said we DID qualify. We clearly do not. Way too many CMs were involved for it to be pixie dust.
