Hello all, I tried to search this but found nothing. I’m a Disney veteran and I’m embarrassed I don’t know this answer. If you go to a character meal can you ask for characters not to come to your table? Going on a solo trip in Sept and I want to do 1900 Park Fare but don’t have an interest in their characters. Can I tell them I don’t want them to stop at my table? I’m an introvert and talking characters make me anxious. I don’t wanna make conversation. No problem taking pics with non talking characters, I just don’t like small talk.

You can definitely let them know and they will make best efforts. I have also found that if a character approaches your table a quick wave and going back to your business seems to get the message across as well

I don't know what happens if you tell someone, but I do know that sometimes you don't even have to tell them, they're so aware! After years of solo dining, but never at character dining, I finally went to a character meal only because they had breakfast right in my hotel (Cape May at the Beach Club) and I could get reservations the night beforehand. Somehow the characters just knew I didn't want interaction and they would give me a little wave or blow me a kiss as they went by after the first stop for a photo. I had a great time though, such fun watching families get their first glimpse of the characters. When the characters first came around, I told them "I'd like to have a picture with you-do you know anyone who'd take it?" and they grabbed my cell phone, went to an adjacent table and motioned for the gentleman to take my picture. The whole family thought it was funny-"you'd better do what Pluto wants, Dad!" Such a great time!
