We are going Nov 1-6 and now I am starting to get nervous about the crowds because of Jersey week. Not that I can do anything about it now but just wondering if anyone else has been there at this time!

Well, I guess the lack of replies here is probably a good sign, no one has ever been during Jersey week, so how crowded can it be, right? :lmao:

In all seriousness, yes, I have been during Jersey week. We took a couple of trips with my Uncle and his family and since they live in NJ we took advantage of that irregularity in their school schedule. It was lovely. There were enough people there that the parks seemed pleasantly busy but we weren't standing in ridiculous lines or pushing through big crowds. I actually think some of the fun is lost when the parks have that totally empty ghost town feeling, but I'm probably a little nutty that way :upsidedow

Also, the weather was gorgeous, not too hot, no rain, no bugs, very little humidity, awesome.

I have done Jersey week 2x, the last time was in 2008. The crowds are not really there because of Jersey week it there because of the Food and Wine festival, Master of the Arts and the beginning of the Holiday Decorations. I found Epcot to be the worst, meaning in the Countries there are just a lot more people walking around. I really enjoyed it at that time, I am going back the 4th-11th. Master of the Arts affect DTD, but I think it might be later this yr, If I recall right I will be missing it by 1 day. All in all the crowds are not that bad.

Have Fun you will be in Disney!

Are the crowds THAT bad.... no

We found the crowds to be minimal. Lines were manageable, some things were walk-ons (10 min or less). Compared to the following 2 weeks, Jersey Week is considered "busy", but we're not talking Thankgiving/Christmas/Easter busy. It's a great time to go.

I have been to Disney twice during NJ week... 2006 and 2009.

I don't know what all the hub bub is about... the place was deserted last year. I even took video from the monorail of the empty parking lots. We never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride.

Early November is still warm enough to swim, which we did every day as well as spent 2 days at Blizzard beach.

I have been there during Jersey week and it was very pleasant. Have a great time.:thumbsup2

We were there during Jersey Week 2008.... The parks were practically empty the first part of the week all the way up to Thursday morning.... By Thursday afternoon of the week the parks were getting a bit crowded. On Friday and Saturday of the week the parks were crowded with waits on major attractions being 60 - 90 minutes.

On the other hand.... The weather was beautiful !!!!

Because it (un)officially starts tomorrow, I can't say for sure. I'll go to DHS on Monday, and will report on that.

Oh, and I'm a former New Jerseyan, thank you.

First time hearing about this. What exactly is it about?

NJ public school are closed Thurs and Fri for teacher conferences. My son's school is also closed tomorrow for Election Day (not sure if everyone is). Today, all the schools in my Township are closed because we are under a Boil Alert...the water tested positive for e coli. BLECHHHHH. My son has one day of school this week.:confused3
