DH and I are going to visit Aquatica for the first time in October. We have the teacher passes for SeaWorld and we get to go to Aquatica for one day free. We just want to try it out for a couple hours and see if we are interested in returning with our children another weekend (from Florida).

There are a lot of closings when we are going (October 19th), so we mainly plan on going to the wave pool that will be open, the Rapids River that will be open, and maybe a slide or two. DH is not into thrill slides at all, so we'll see about the slides.

Does anyone have a recommended plan of action? We'll probably get there around 10 AM and stay about 3 hours just to get a feel for things. Should we visit the wave pool first? Are we allowed to reserve chairs there while we do the rapids?

There are tons of beach chairs (many with huge umbrellas) on the beach by the two wave pools. They are first come, first served but if you arrive by 10 am on an October date I would think you'll have no problem grabbing up a pair. You can leave your stuff on them (towels and such......I would use a locker for the valuables) and no one will move it off :).

If you are interested in the slides at all, I would do those first (since the lines will grow longer as the day progresses). Roa's Rapids and the wave pools are good places to ride out the busiest times of the day.

We love Aquatica......Roa's Rapids is one of our favourite water features ANYWHERE.

Agree with Gina, we love Roa's Rapids. Also there are a couple of rides that have the fish up close. One is a waterslide---and you slide ride past the Commerson's Dolphins. They are black and white, like a mini Shamu. The other one is a lazy river where you glide past some giant tanks of fish. I can't remember the names of the rides right now, but once you get there, I think you'll see how close together everything is, which makes it really easy to get around. We love Aquatica!!

Do the slides first before it gets more crowded around noon, when it gets crowded do Roa's Rapids and the wave pool.Roa's Rapids is great and I can spend an hour straight in there. The Dolphin Plunge usually has the longest wait of all the slides so I would do that one first if it has little wait.
