Does anyone know the difference in price if you upgrade when you get to the ship, as opposed to say like now? What are the chances we would be able to upgrade at the port, for significantly less than the regular price? Since we didn't get a "Magical" free upgrade, I was wondering if there would be a chance to upgrade at the port, but not pay the "right now" price.
It really is hit & miss for upgrades, but never hurts to check. The prices seem higher now than they have been in the past for a port upgrade - maybe they got wise to us!!

On our October MVR cruise I upgraded at the port, from our 6A verandah to the Roy Disney Suite. The cost for the two of us was an additional $1,800, I kept my $275 OBC that I got with my onboard booking that I had moved to that cruise. The total for the 7 day cruise, for two adults, was $3,000. I don't think we will ever get that deal again.
In Dec., for a 7 nighter, we were in a 6a and were quoted another $1200 to upgrade to a one bedroom (T?). Makes me wonder if a couple hundred goes a long way in upgrades!! I can't decide whether or not I want to go early & check for an upgrade...and wait a few hours in the port....or just keep what we have & breeze on in at boarding time! Decisions, decisions....

Went in for my annual GYN exam and tests last Friday. Got a call last night that I have to come in today to take another mamogram because of something they found on the first. Also, have to go have an pelvic unltrasound tomorrow due to another find. So send me good wishes.

I saw another post somewhere where folks took postcards if they were planning to upgrade at the port, then filled out the postcards with old and new stateroom numbers and then on the first day, delivered postcards with changes to all FEs, so all would know of changes.
Great idea!! If we decide to go for an upgrade, I'm going to do that as a back-up, for sure!

.......We've also done two longer cruises but had 2 formals and one semi, at least I think that's how it went .....
Lately, it's been one formal & 2 semi formals on my cruises that are longer. We were scheduled for 2 formals & one SF on my last 2-weeker, but it was changed to 2 SF & one formal at some point in the cruise.
The party line for all the cruise ships is the first sea day is a formal night, and all the rest are "at the captain's discretion." All we know for sure is that they will be spaced out - the report about 2 semi formals a day apart was suspect because of that - I knew it would change....and of course it will probably change again...lol I hope no one stresses over it too much - I try to pack for options (of course that's why I'm a notorious OVERpacker, but that's another story!
