Anyone ever request a room????,.....Need reassurance!!!

I posted this earlier in the theme park board but thought it belonged here!!1 To excited to think!!! HAHA!!

I am staying at the Boardwalk starting this weekend (arriving on sunday). I sent a room request by fax yesterday. Do you think I waited to long or sent it too early???? My mom is the DVC member so she sent the request. Have you ever sent a request and had it met???? We requested a boardwalk view and I know this is hard to get but we would be so HAPPY if we did!!! We will be happy no matter what but would just be thrilled if our request goes through. We have been waiting to get this view at the boardwalk for 2 years!!! Since we went by their in may 2001!!

Anyway, Have you done this before and actually gotten it???

I am going stir crazy waiting for the Fax back!!!!

If you are waiting for Disney to send you a reply fax, not sure you will get one.

As to requests they try very hard but requests are not guaranteed and as you said Boardwalk view is very much requested.

I faxed the OKW room controller yesterday for a Friday arrival. I have done it in the past and have never received a reply, just waited until check-in to see if we got it. I just confirmed the requests that were on my reservation record. My results in the past have been pretty good.

Boardwalk view at BWV is a hard one, they are only about 20% of the total rooms. By DVC rules, they are supposed to assign those rooms by date of reservation. So those who made the reservation first are supposed to get it. Alot depends on how many people checked out of those rooms the day you arrive. If not too many checked out, then that decreases your chances. If alot check out, then it increases your chances. Another factor is that Sunday is the most common DVC check-in day, so you will be competing with other members for it. Good Luck and have a great trip! You will love BWV, we stay there every December.
