Anyone else starting to think Christmas??

Where do you find the Zoobles? Even though my DD hasn't mentioned them they would make great stocking stuffers for her...she's in love with anything that has to do with animals.

I saw them on TRU.com, looks like $5.99 for the individual packs. I forsee something like this becoming the same craziness as zhu zhus were if they limit the release. But the prices are pretty reasonable for these types of toys/playsets.

eta~ looks like a 2 pack is 9.99..

I went to hobby lobby this weekend and noticed the christmas stuff out but i have not started a list yet.

I've been thinking about XMas and shopping for my kids. DD is getting an American Girl doll with clothing and a matching nightgown for her. DS is getting an assortment of Dinosaur Train toys (his fav PBS show). I have my DD's stuff bought and most of DS's things, too. For DH and I, I think we'll get the Wii and maybe Wii Fit. Plus, stockings for the kids (tiny stuff totalling $10 or so picked up at Target's clearance). I'm thinking about the Nook or Kindle for DH's b-day in Nov, too.

I have no clue about my DH's family (my FIL, MIL, BIL, and SIL) and my sister and her BF. I feel like I did so well with thoughtful gifts last year that I can't possibly match it this year. We'll see...

I actually bought a Christmas present this weekend! I saw something at Barnes & Noble that I thought my sister would like so I bought it. Now I just hope I don't stash it away and forget about it!

Yes, I have already started buying a few things. I usually shop all year round,I hate waiting to the last minute to shop..LOL

We have decided to do the BIG gift from Santa as a trip to Disney. But it is going to be hard because DD7 strongly believe in Santa and I have tried to explain that Christmas from Santa won't be like in years past. Their will still be gifts from Santa but I won't be able to over do it like in years past. I hope that we when we get back on 12/20 that she will remember that feeling on 12/25..and I am sure some how some way their will be too much under the Christmas tree..

Dose anyone know where I can get wrapping paper this time of year? We don't have hobby lobby here.

I used to have at least half of my shopping done by now. But, DD is 13 now and I never know what she wants until the last minute or she just wants giftcards. So it isn't near as much fun as when she was little. I think she has gotten her last "big" must have gift which was a phone. It is a little sad.:sad2: My husband can be a little difficult to buy for too. But I get creative with him. I love going to Walmart on Black Friday. I stock up on all kinds for videos dirt cheap, then attach giftcards to the top for nieces and nephews/ We don't buy for adults anymore instead we do the Chinese Christmas exchange and that is usually good for a few laughs.:)

I am pretty much done with my list and have to start ordering.
This year, believe it or not most everything is going to be ordered! I am saving Black Friday for myself:thumbsup2
Also, ordering through Sunshine Rewards I can earn some money!

How about the Paper Factory??(If you have one there). If not, go to qvc.com because I know they would have it

I like to shop for Christmas year round, including wrapping paper and bags. Instead of looking for Christmas wrapping paper at odd times of the year, I stockpile non-seasonal gift bags and wrapping paper in Christmas colors. If I feel making them look a bit more Christmassy, I'll decorate them with stickers, cut-outs from last year's Christmas cards, inexpensive Christmas ornaments etc.

I make my own Christmas wrap. I butythe rolls of shipping paper (like paper bags) from the $ store and stamp it with Christmas stamps.

I bought a huge, industrial size roll of red wrapping paper on ebay for $25 -- and I use it for christmas, birthday and valentine's day. Everything red.

I was given a roll end of silver paper (discard from a local specialty printery) which I have been using as wrapping paper for any and all occasions. It's narrower than the typical wrapping paper width so sometimes I skilfully join the paper and disguise the seam with ribbon!

I probably have enough paper on this roll to last me a few more years, but I buy other paper once in a while to break the monotony!

I've also got hundred of cards circle cut-outs in a variety of colours (blue, red, white, silver, black)- more discards from the printery. Won't need to buy gift tags again for decades! We embellish them with stickers, shells etc to make them look prettier, but there have been times when I used them as is, and just wrote Merry Christmas on the colored side with my calligraphy markers!

I've started to find a few things for Christmas....
Kohl's had their 60% off jewelry sale in July plus I had a 30% code:cool1: DD12 was with me and found a few necklaces that were marked down to $10 a cute butterfly
with cubic zirconia. We got a few of those to give as birthday presents too. I found some earrings for DD's for Christmas.

Found some 101 piece art sets at Michael's for $3.99, those will be good for Christmas or birthdays!

I should look out for a sale on grill pans, my MIL mentioned she would like another one. That's all I have an idea for so far:confused3

go to your local newspaper and ask for an end roll. It's newsprint that isn't long enough for them to use on the press anymore but it's long! Sometimes they are free, sometimes they charge $2.

Let the kids use markers , stamps, etc and decorate their own wrapping apper. We did this when the kids were small.

White paper from Micheal's (with a coupon) is another wrapping paper option. Decorate with stamps or leave as is and use Christmas color ribbon.

Yeah, about Christmas.....
I decided after yet another harrowing xmas last year that I would like to go away and truly enjoy myself and the family. My boss goes away EVERY holiday, and xmas is no exception.....so I have had to work extra each holiday (and really only get xmas day off). My DH is a church musician, and I never see him xmas eve-eve, on the eve or xmas day till late afternoon. Now, I don't feel sorry for myself, but I just asked him for one year could we wake up and enjoy each other on the holiday/and pre-post days and enjoy all our kids??!! He has graciously (under much duress) agreed and we are headed for Florida. We are going to drive and stop and see how others along the way celebrate/decorate etc. This is causing much stress in our extended families however......they are used to me being supermom.....getting off work at 4pm xmas eve....driving 1hr+ to the family celebration with all the kids in tow, and getting back home 12 am , quickly throwing everything under the tree.....then getting everyone up early so dad can see some gifts before he heads to his church, and we then head to out our parish.. getting home...loading them all up again to drive to his families celebration getting back late.....work next day by 8 am UGGGHHHHH

I am hoping that it will be a sedate calm sort of celebration together.....
Hope everyone can understand my selfishness and get by it.....

we are not exchanging gift with the kids or anyone else this year.....we have told the relatives we won't be around and are not planning to exchange gifts........

It feels like a huge weight has been lifted already:santa:
