Anyone else excited about the dining discounts in DTD?

Related to the other poll/post about using dining discounts, is anyone else excited about the dining discounts in DTD? Great for SSR guests.

Almost every eatery in DTD seems to be on the member perk list and have some sort of discount through the program--either lunch or dinner. Even though SSR has no sit-down restaurant, I am pretty happy about this and think we will use it a lot. We like Wolfgang Pucks, Cap'n jacks, Fulton's, Foodquest at DQ, and would really like to try House of Blues and the Rainforest Cafe.

Umm... we might still stay away from Portobello Yacht Club though. I couldn't believe the prices there.

I'm always excited to see any dining discount from DVC, since to me it's pure bonus. I didn't count on them when I joined DVC, but we have taken advantage of them.

It's also smart business sense for the restaurants. They know that DVC owners have kitchens, etc and might be more tempted to cook and eat in the villas.

The discount is one more way to lure us back to the restaurants.


(Pssst....don't tell them that most people think that stove thing is just a nice decoration!)

Since I am so new, I have not gotten any member info that lists the perks of being a DVC member. However, after reading the original thread, I was wondering if anybody could tell me a bit more about the dining perks?

With your user i.d. and PIN, if you select a resort at dvcmember.com, the member perks link is at the left sidebar menu. The list includes restaurants at WDW hotels, in the theme parks, Boardwalk, and DTD, as well as other dining discounts, WDW recreation discounts, tours, parks admissions, and more.

I don't see any kind of discount at SSR's Artist's Palette though...bummer.

DH and I took a quick trip to OKW last week because he had a job interview in Orlando. We didn't go to any of the parks, but because we didn't have the kids, we really enjoyed some restaurants we usually don't go to and we took advantage of the DVC dining discount. We received the discount at Olivia's, but our waiter at Wolfgang Puck's had to be reminded, even though it was right on our card. So, be sure you check your bill for your discount - it can save you quite a bit of money!

We usually eat out anyway but we may be more inclined to plan a few meals at places that are giving the discounts. It seems that we do frequent the places on the list anyway so that works for me.
