Anyone else as crazy as I am for wearing heels??

Hi ladies, so I am not a tennis shoe kind of girl. Ive been to WDW dozens of times and usually wear sandals w/ heels or dress heels at night esp. in Epcot. Ive been shopping downtown Chicago and worn nothing but heels all weekend. So now for our Thanksgiving trip to WDW w/ 3 little ones I have a couple pairs of more comfy shoes packed but I just cant resist at least one pair of heels. Anyone else as insane as I am??? LOL!!!!

No, but I do agree you are INSANE.
Also shopping on more or less level ground and doing Disney and getting on and off moving walks, vertical ramps, and climbing into and out of rides is not the same thing.

I think you are wise to bring comfortable shoes for the hard days and nites. If you and DH are going out for a show or special dinner, dress it up, wear the heels.

As for the days, unless you really can stand in heels for 13 hours and walk up, down, step in, step out, forget them.

You will know what your feet can do and what is right for you.

Not me. I hate heels even at the most dressiest of occassions. I wore flats with my wedding dress. And I will surely not be wearing heels to Disney. But does that mean you shouldn't, absolutely not. Wear what you want and what you are comfortable in.

I think it is very silly to bring heels to a theme or amusement park. People who do so are umm...silly. Unless you are going to a fancy restaurant, leave the heels at home.

I have worn heels almost everyday for the past 10+ years due to work. I don't think there is anything wrong with that if that is what you are used to. Personally I love to wear my sandals to the parks and then wear heels to DTD/Pleasure Island, nicer dinners. It feels good to dres up on vacation.

I am the exact opposite as others: I HATE wearing sneakers! Ugh I hate it. But I need to now due to years of wearing heels so much.

I love heels just as much as the next girl, but I do think it's insane to wear them in WDW! I am not willing to suffer that much for beauty! My feet hurt bad enough wearing sneakers, or Reef flip-flops after a day in the parks, I can't imagine what they would feel like after wearing heals. It sounds like torture to me.

I know I totally set myself up in this thread but I figured there had to be a few more ladies out there that couldnt resist a night out in WDW w/ their heels. Trust me I know how crazy it would be to wear heels in the parks all week long. Id be making fun of some chick hobbling around in them too. No offense taken!!!

I personally wouldn't do it. Now I am a heel gal too .. I love 'em.
I really wanted to wear my knee high black boots (I dubbed em my pritate boots) for P&P party ... I thought long and hard about it and they will be staying in my closet for the trip. Just as I wouldn't wear sneakers to V&A, I wouldn't wear heels to the parks. Not only is it a safety issue, its also a fashion issue with me. I would hate to have people staring and giggling at me all day long.

I don't see how anyone can wear high heels or flip flops (you know, the thin cheap ones) to the theme parks. I see tons of women and teens with heels and kids and adults with the flip flops everytime we go to WDW. I just don't understand. They say you walk 5-15 miles a day at one theme park

I know I am in the minority here, but I also can't imagine wearing Crocs at the parks either. To the water parks maybe, but not the theme parks. I have a pair of Crocs I bought for indoor shoes just to wear around the house. Once I wore them out shopping and running around all day and my feet were sore on the bottoms for 2 days! I guess from the ridges inside and rubbing I know everyone loves them and my son wears his all the time (but he wears socks with them) and don't get me wrong, I love my Crocs ~ they are comfy to wear, but I don't personally find them comfy to wear walking a lot. I love my Teva's

I love, Love, LOVE wearing heels......but not to the parks! If you are committed to wearing them, there are a couple of brands out there, sorry I don't remember the names, that are starting to put air soles or gel in the soles of their pumps/sandals under the ball of your foot. I would think this would make wearing them for extended times a LOT more comfortable. Might be something to look into!

No heels for me, in the parks or much of anywhere else for that matter. The number of times I've worn them in the last 10 years is in the single digits.

Ermmmm....I used to wear sandals with 2" heels to Disneyland--from park opening at 9:00 a.m. to park closing at 1:00 a.m.!

Not sure what I was thinking! Definitely don't even consider it at WDW! *LOL*

Okay, no judging here... just wanting to know more -

Just what kind of "heels" are we talking? 4" stilletos? 1" sqaures? pointy toed or round? Louboutins or Naturalizer? I'm thinking it all makes a difference.

I'm a self-professed shoe fanatic and I wear the big-girl heels most days for work, but for a fast-paced, 5 day marathon around WDW? No WAY! Give me some sneakers, Crocs or flips please
