Anyone else as crazy as I am for wearing heels??

The pavement in portions of Disney is not smooth, so I don't know if heels are a good, or safe, idea.

Quick clarification - I get the feeling that when most people think heels they envision stillettos. Yeah, not so much my style. But there's a lot of heels that are broad and very safe. Heck, I've climbed rocks and gone hiking in my heels before. Thinking about it more, my hiking boots have 3/4" heels. So did my dad's army boots. Go figure. So back on track, there's lots of heels out there that are very safe for even off-road stuff.

Personally I've yet to see how crocs are safe - they seem like your foot would be slipping around in them like crazy and I KNOW I'd twist my ankle at some point or send a shoe flying (if worn without the back strap engaged) but despite all my illusions many people (including small kids) wear them without problem so apparently they work!

I've worn heels to Disney and have been perfectly comfortable in them. They were either wedges or a wider heel (not wobbly stilettos). I don't see a problem with it at all if you want to wear them. If you're comfortable in them go for it!

On a side note, when I was in DL Paris, many women were wearing heels. It was perfectly normal there. In fact, I only saw one pair of crocs all day.

Nope, no heels for me. :) I have to wear them 5 days aweek. At Disney I'm all about my ugly as all getout lime green crocks :thumbsup2

My last trip I was into heels and wore a two inch wedge sandal the whole trip. We stayed from open to close for 7 days doing extra magic hours. I had even taken flip flops but didn't need them because I was so comfortable. I'm sure people thought I was crazy but my feet didn't bother me one time.

I'm into flats now but pointy toe which i've decided to ditch for WDW. I'm determined to find comfortable dressy shoes for Christmas in WDW.

In the heel girls defence I have never found sneakers comfortable.

I can't wear heels for any amount of time (I have VERY flat feet and heels are very uncomfortable because of that) but I have to agree with your last comment about sneakers not being comfortable. I have never found them comfortable, even at home for just an hour or two with my expensive arch supports in them. The only comfortable shoe I can find are my birks and tevas.

OP I say wear what you'll feel comfortable in. Why others care what a stranger wears around the park is beyond me.:confused3

I wear sneakers, flip flop and cute sandals with heels around the parks. I've never had a problem with any of them.

Okay, no judging here... just wanting to know more -

Just what kind of "heels" are we talking? 4" stilletos? 1" sqaures? pointy toed or round? Louboutins or Naturalizer? I'm thinking it all makes a difference. :rotfl:

I'm a self-professed shoe fanatic and I wear the big-girl heels most days for work, but for a fast-paced, 5 day marathon around WDW? No WAY! Give me some sneakers, Crocs or flips please :thumbsup2

I love you! :rotfl2: and totally agree btw. I have worn heels out to dinner at Alfredo's in Epcot, Les Chefs de France, etc. but would never dream of wearing heels for a day at the parks! I always bring a nice dress and a pair (or two :) ) of heels, knowing that we will be going to at least one SDE, where we will both get all dressed up :) To the OP, bring your heels! Bring those babies out and have a ball! Disney can be a really fun place at night, and there's nothing wrong with getting dressed up.

85% of the women wore heels at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. Then again, most of the women are short (and tiny ... I felt like a moose!) in those countries and wear heels all the time.

I am not really concerned what others think of me in WDW, I was just wondering WHO else does it!! I agree with you though, I will be wearing a little bit of everything, but I will wear those heels a few times!!

Hi ladies, so I am not a tennis shoe kind of girl. Ive been to WDW dozens of times and usually wear sandals w/ heels or dress heels at night esp. in Epcot. Ive been shopping downtown Chicago and worn nothing but heels all weekend. So now for our Thanksgiving trip to WDW w/ 3 little ones I have a couple pairs of more comfy shoes packed but I just cant resist at least one pair of heels. Anyone else as insane as I am??? LOL!!!!

I too, am NOT a sneaker wearer. Every time we've been to Disney, I have worn heels. Mostly 1 1/2 to 2 inch wedges. When its cold, I wear closed-toe leather wedges and when its warm, I wear open-toe wedges.

My feet tend to hurt when I try to wear flats so I always try to wear some type of heel, not to mention I like feeling a little taller :)

I tell everyone that I do "everything" better in heels...including hanging out with the Mouse! ::MickeyMo

Whatever spins your beanie. I won't point and laugh, but I may smile and shake my head. Don't take it to heart, though. My opinion should mean nothing to you, if it's what you want and hurts nobody but yourself.
