Their original plans to participate in the free dining? I'm having a hard time with this and wanted to know what everyone else thought? We have almost paid off our vacation which is scheduled for june 9-17 and the kids are very excited, we purchased the dining plan for this vacation. I would hate to make the kids wait another 2 months but we would save about $900. And if I do cancell does anyone know how easy it is to get my money back being that I have been paying with two different bank accounts? I'm also afraid it will be more crowded because of the promotion, we would have to go from August 13-21. I'm just not sure what to do :confused3 , I would also hate to have to wait another 2 months to get to Disney! Please let me know what ya'll think. TIA

If you inclued the "trip insurance" usually about 100 bucks you can Easily get a 100% refund. if you didn't you may be able to get a large amount back if you "reschedule" your trip instead of cancel.

As crowded... It isn't going to be noticeable.. As you'll notice this promotion isn't going to be advertised on TV or anyother market. So the only people that will know about it are those on message boards (or friends of them) and people who notice the little blurb on the wdw webpage that states about the free dining and probably people who book through travel agents. but the would have been booking anyway (that is why they went to the travel agent right ) as for waiting... I would to save 900 bucks... Just thinkg what you could do with that extra money!!!... make your next Disneytrip the best you will ever have

How old are your kids? Maybe ask them, and tell them about the savings you would achieve. Maybe you could even run over to Universal for a couple of days with that extra money, or spend a couple of days at the beach.....add something extra onto your vacation. $900 is a lot of money to save!

This promotion IS being advertised was in both the Sunday papers I get.

My kids are 9 and 6 and will be 10 and 7 if we go in August. I think they would understand. I just thought about hurricanes though, I remember Katrina hit at the end of August because I was out of town when it happened, is August really hurricane season, or is it more like Sept. and Oct.?

Hurricane Season officially begins June 1st and runs through November 30 this year.

There are a lot worse places to be in a Hurricane than WDW, though. We were there in 2004 Hurricane Charley came through, and were staying at the Wilderness Lodge. They closed the parks to everyone except resort guests the morning that the hurricane was due to come through, later in the evening. So we practically had Epcot to ourselves that day. The parks closed at noon, and we went back to the Lodge. Hung out there, ate, visited with lots of other people who were hanging out, watched the hurricane from the safety of that great lodge, and the next morning it was all over.

Buy the trip insurance, and you're good to go. :)

I don't think trip insurance would cover this. You have to cancel for a specific described reason such as illness. Changing your mind isn't covered. Since you are more than 45 days before check-in, you should get most if not all of it back (insurance is not refundable). Are there plane tickets involved? There maybe charges to change that.

It will probably not be as hot & humid in June and the threat of hurricanes is much lower.

Now this might make me think twice. :headache:

It is also being advertised in magazines. There was a full page ad in my Parent magazine that I just got the other day.

I'm not cancelling! I'm so excited about going its just not worth it for me to cancel. I'm less than 45 days out and even though I have insurance, I don't think it would be worth it to cancel. I've heard a lot of people say that last time there WERE increased crowds. I wasn't there, so I don't know. But I'll keep my little ressies right where they are!!

Good luck in your decision and no matter what, have a wonderful trip!!

There are no plane tickets involved, we are driving. I think now that people are saying they have seen it advertised in newspapers and magazines we will just stick with the June trip, besides not wanting to make the kids wait an extra 2 months I'm not sure that I could wait either!
