We were there once in Feb '02...park was very busy...especially by the Splash Mountain area. We were deciding if we were going to wait for the ride, or get in line. We decided to come back later, my DH was a little irritated at the crowds. We were heading over the bridge when a man in a Disney Security costume approached us...he introduced himself as "Officer Bill" and proceded to ask for my DH name and began to explain to us we were in a "no frowning zone" My DH was not smiling and he was breaking the law and would be issued a ticket.

We were laughing so hard...the "officer" then took out his tablet, and proceeded to issue my DH a ticket for "frowning". No kidding, this was a pre-printed paper with check boxes and all!! There were choices and all-Having too much fun, Making a UTurn with a stroller, Picture taking with the lens cap on, Impersonating a Disney Character (his was checked for that one), Mousellaneous: Frowning (written in)!!! There were others, but we laughed about that all day!!

Whenever we would see "Officer Bill" the rest of the day, DH would smile real big!

The same thing happened to us in December 2002, on that same bridge! My older son Vince was 13 at the time. He's always been very theatrical, and it's even worse now that he's hit the moody teen years. As we were crossing the bridge, Vince was irritated about something and was shuffling along with his head down, frowning hard. Officer Bill yelled across the bridge to stop him, and told him he was in a "no-frown zone." I can't remember what all he said, but he had us all cracking up. Even Vince loved it; he was grinning by the time Officer Bill let him go "with a warning this time." I was so happy, I could've hugged Officer Bill!! He really turned the day around for Vince. We saw Officer Bill later in the afternoon parade, and when he spotted Vince he yelled, "Not frowning over there, are you?" It was great!

That's great! Hopefully, Officer Bill won't be stopping us on our next trip, LOL!

Maybe he could also get after those parents who scream at their poor, tired, worn-out kids...

Thank you for bringing back this memory. I can't remember all the details but I remember being stopped in Frontierland by a sheriff or something. Although we didn't get a ticket, we did get his card, it was the 8 of diamonds, or something like that. He did a great job and had us all laughing.

:firefight

Wow! I've never heard of that! We don't spend a lot of time over in that area though. I would love to have that job!!

I saw a couple get one of those "tickets" a few years ago in front of the castle. Everyone in the area was laughing by the time the officer walked off.
