Any word on the Okapi at Kidani?

I know that they are supposed to have Okapi at Kidani.
I was wondering if anyone has seen them yet?

Hi, I read your other reply about how excited you are about seeing okapi in the summer. They will be on the upmost savannah, and that's not ready yet, and won't be until the building is completely opened. That's my understanding from what I learned on the Sunset Savannah tour.

Well, I think you're right. That will be exciting for you to see. We have a 1 night AKV stay at the end of September, and I'll be heading to that savannah to see if I can spy those elusive animals as well.

I'm going to be down there in a little over a week. Does anyone know what animals are on which savannah's? I have no idea what to request. Any info would be appreciated.

The animals generally circulate, except for the Red River Hogs and Okapi, which will be exclusive to the (unopened) Pembe Savanna.

If you are staying at Jambo, I recommend requesting Arusha Savanna (this is the "main" large savanna, and faces AK park (you can see everest in the distance) or the sunset savanna, which is now a large combined savanna between Jambo and Kidani.

If you are staying in Kidani, I believe the only option will be Sunset, which is a good thing!
