Any Wii's out there??????

If anyone is near the TRU in Willow Grove PA they just got a shipment of 30 in. My friend called me from there and DH is on his way now to get one for our boys.

I went looking for a DS Lite yesterday at ToysRUs. The clerk advised that they were getting a shipment of the Lites AND Wiis today. My loving DH went this morning and stood outside in the dark for 2 hours before the clerks came out to say that the shipment hadn't arrived yet. They advised to come back between 11 and 1 today. Sure. :rotfl: My DD gets her braces off at 11 today and my 7 yo DS has his Xmas party at school at 1. I guess we're not getting one from Santa. I officially throw in the towel. :guilty:

Thanks Bizeemom4! Took this tip and ran to the nearest TRU. As we pulled in the parking lot the FedEx truck was pulling out. My DS17 got out of the car and sprinted into the store and got in line. They had three and he was third in line! :Pinkbounc One happy camper here. I even thought of buying one to send to you (at cost) but my son got the last one. When we got back in the car he was feeling sorry for the lady just behind him. The two ladies in front of him were in tears because they got one.
I never thought that this board would mean so much to my family. I cannot tell you how much reading threads here have meant to us.
Merry Christmas to all and a big hope that you get your Wii :thumbsup2

Well, unfortunately not all Toys R Us stores are getting Wiis today - I was at mine at 12:30 right when they got the shipment, but the guy came out and said that there was nothing from Nintendo, and definitely no Wiis. I then went to Walmart and I was in the electronics section as they were opening the boxes and there were no Wiis there either.

My local stores all have signs at the Wii section saying that they are out of stock, and don't expect to have any more until 12/26 - has anyone else seen signs like these and still known their store to get any in?

Add me to the list of lucky ones today! We live in a small town with only 2 possible stores (WalMart and Game Stop) and we of course had not been having any luck. My DH got up at 6:00 to be at stores 1/2 hour away by 7:00 opening, he went to Wal-Mart, TRU, BB, CC, Target, Sears, and maybe others to find nothing! I gave DH the local GS # and told him their shipments come between 10-11 so to call and check then. They didn't get any. To my surprise DH called our local Walmart and found out they had just minutes before opened a delivery box and had 5. He called me and I sped over and managed to get one! They said they'd had 15-20 calls within 15 minutes of opening the shipment and told everyone they didn't have any. Then they had several calls after they got them but they certainly weren't going to have enough for everyone that called and was told there were some there.

Any way, I'm thrilled now I can return the GameCube and I don't have to think of a good story about why Santa couldn't get the new system in time for Christmas (I was going to try to convince them (DD9, DS7) not to open the GameCube and to wait a few days to see if any Wiis came out soon after Christmas).

Good luck to the rest of you.

Scored one today for a friend... was out at Home Depot when I got a call on my cell phone - someone heard they had Wii's at TRU (Newark DE).. it's about 3/4 mile away... I hauled it over there, made every green light & sure enough they had two left!!! Woo hoo... I got mine a month ago but I still felt that rush - she was SOOO happy when I called her :thumbsup2

FYI: Circuit City (Newark DE) just got 11... another friend just called us.

Another thing I just thought of. The people who bought Wii's to re-sell on Ebay, if they didn't get their asking price & their Wii didn't sell, they just may end up taking them back to the store for a refund. So there might be some on Sunday? Just another "cross your fingers" type idea.

Walmart has a bundle right now...but even with one day shipping it won't come till Tuesday or Wednesday of next week! CRAP!!!!!

Thanks for thinking of me and congrats on scoring the Wii. I did race back to TRU after dropping DD off at high school and the smiling clerk said they had received the shipment but they were already sold. I told them that my DH had been first in line this morning and we were told yesterday afternoon to come first thing this morning and then told to come back btwn 11a-1p and now I'm still empty handed. All I got was a "Sorry." :Pinkbounc I know there's nothing that they could do and I've reached the obsessive-above-and beyond trying to buy this dumb toy for my kids. :badpc: The only positive is that between the three boys, they should get enough Christmas cash to buy the system after the holidays if they still want it that badly.

I also wanted to ask if anyone has heard what the availability is expected to be for the Wii the week after Christmas? I know our local Walmart has a sign up that they are sold out, but they expect to get more on 12/26.

Although I would love to have one for Christmas Day, I don't think it's going to happen (which is fine since it's just DH and I). However, I would really love to have one for New Year's Eve since we're having a get together at our house and I think the Wii would be really fun (after removing all breakable objects from the nearby vinicity!). I might have Tuesday off from work, so hopefully I'd be able to check out the local stores.

I just wanted to say that I'm here hoping (and saying a little prayer, too!) that all of you trying to get them for under the tree on Monday have some luck in the next few days. DH camped out for one the first weekend in December, but before that I had a roller coaster ride like some of you have been on (EB Games had one and got me all excited only to come back out and tell me it was for someone who bought a defective one). All I can say is that I know exactly how you feel and I wish I had an extra one for all of you on this thread! I keep reading just to see more and more of you post good news. Good luck to all! :grouphug:

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you on this post. After I read that TRU would get some today, I raced there(abut 2 miles). And I got one! I got 24th out of 31. Then there were a few people behind me. Thanks again! :goodvibes

For those parents still trying to secure a Wii for Christmas, my friends and I are planning on camping out at Nintendo World in Manhattan tomorrow (Friday 12/22) evening in an attempt to purchase a few Wiis. I don't actually need one and am going more for fun and moral support, so, if anyone is interested, I would be willing to sell them the Wii for $250 + tax (whatever it costs me) assuming I get one. The only condition would be that you purchase the Wii for your own personal use since this offer would only be worth it if it really makes someone's Christmas that much better. Since I would not have the Wii until Saturday morning, I guess this would only work out if you live in the New York City area and can pick it up, unless you don't mind paying for overnight shipping and getting it the day after Christmas. Please let me know if you are interested by emailing me at simba51104 at gmail period com (sorry for the weird format, the board wouldn't let me post the actual url). I don't want to get anyone excited since this offer only works if I actually get a Wii, but if I do, then you are free to buy it. Merry Christmas!

Oh thats great. Where in Maryland are you? I read that TRU would be getting them tomorrow.

There were TRU - Friday rumors on a lot of boards - unfortunately they got them Thursday instead  guess that's why they're rumors - I think Target will be a good bet first thing Friday. The smaller stores - EB Games, GameStop, etc. will also be a good bet once they get their deliveries.

We bought a PS3 as a (very expensive) back up and are thinking of giving up on the Wii and giving them the PS3 instead.

Circuit City has a bundle available right now. Even with the most expensive shipping you can't get it until the 26th, but it's something.

Walmart had their bundle like that available yesterday...even with the ONE day shipping it wouldn't get here till the 26th or 27th and shipping was NINETY FIVE DOLLARS...I said NO WAY...I am going to watch eBay tomorrow and see if there are any going for "cheap" that I could pick up...or just deal with the fact that I am not getting one.
