Any Wii's out there??????

it is the deal on the fruper website today it is priced at $379.95 I don't know if that is a good deal or not since I'm not looking for one.

Wish that was the case for us...I went to about 7 stores tonight asking about them...the sales people were rude...the kid at Sam's Club even laughed at me...WOW I am having good luck!!

Love how that website says that they have good deals...guess they are retailed at $249.99 most places! So that isn't a Fruper Duper Deal like they claim! It is a little (maybe $20 or so) cheaper then they are on eBay right now. Had they added some games to it I might have bought.

Definatley not a good deal since the retail at $249.99.

as for finding them...best places to look are VIDEOGAME STORES like babadges, gamestop, eb games, game crazy they can get a shipment any day and they go right to the floor.

Good luck in the last few days everyone! (BTW I've had mine since launch day...presold it a month before even...after standing in the freezing rain for 12+hours) and it's a blast!

Moan. I have devoted more time than I would like to think about to this and with no luck. Since there were rumors of Walmart getting them in...I called a few around me, 2 said they had them that day but they sold already, the other said they had no shippments. So I reasoned that the next day maybe they would have them...so I drove up in the morning and the kid at the counter tells me I just missed them, they had 6 and sold in 20 minutes, and I missed them by a few minutes. I was literally sick. I just can't imagine Christmas morning, when my little boy is looking nervously around the tree and it is not there. It is going to kill me. I know there are more important things to pray about in the world, but if anyone reading this is a praying person, please say a quick prayer for me that I get one for my boy before Christmas. This is a trivial thing in the grand sceme of things I know..but this is probably his last Christmas "believing" and I just want him to get the one thing he asked Santa for.

I am frustrated with the places like EB Games...they keep saying they are expecting them, and every clerk gives me a different story on when the shippments come in...and when I go in ,they say they have none...or check back at 1:30 and I go at 1:25 and they say none left. I hate when I ask and the young kid behind the counter gets all snippy and powerful acting with me, like they have control over something in the world. None of them understand that I will endure their attitudes and just about anything else to give my boy a happy memorable Christmas.

What happened with Amazon? - They said they might sell any unclaimed wii's on the customer vote page....I stayed up most the night refreshing the screen, waiting for them to go on sale....did they ever post them? Why are they playing with my life like this?

My local Walmart had a bunch of Wiis Wednesday morning. We went in for something else and went to the electronics section looking at Wii games (they had a great selection, BTW)

The electronics clerk was telling us they had a bunch this morning that were on the floor for a while and they were finally sold by about 10 am.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!

And you are right about the people at EBGames, you don't happen to be shopping at the one in Apple Valley, Minnesota? LOL...because the guy was incredibily RUDE to me yesterday...my thing is, is that I HAVE A JOB and cannot be running at all hours of the day in HOPES to get one...so I am taking it that I am out of luck!! MY DSS will just have to understand (which I know he won't).

I am not sure about Amazon, I did the same thing, kept checking and NOTHING...so you got me...bugs me...but what do you do!

I feel the same way about the store clerks. OMG it's like they have some special magic powers  I am embarassed to even ask for the stupid thing. They look at you like you are a complete idiot. Oh well, when the Christmas rush is over, they and their stinking attitudes can continue working in game shops and wait for the next hot item and thinking they have some kind of "intheknow" hot job :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I totally understand. I've been in your shoes. I'll say prayer. I know what you're going through. It stinks.

I went looking for a DS Lite yesterday at ToysRUs. The clerk advised that they were getting a shipment of the Lites AND Wiis today. My loving DH went this morning and stood outside in the dark for 2 hours before the clerks came out to say that the shipment hadn't arrived yet. They advised to come back between 11 and 1 today. Sure. :rotfl: My DD gets her braces off at 11 today and my 7 yo DS has his Xmas party at school at 1. I guess we're not getting one from Santa. I officially throw in the towel. :guilty:

What you may want to try & do, which is what I'm casually doing, is checking out Ebay auctions that end Friday or Saturday within 25 miles or so of where I live. I've been contacting sellers about possibly meeting somewhere to avoid the shipping charges & ensuring I'd get it in time. The main reason I'm doing this is that perhaps on auctions ending Friday & Saturday & even Sunday I suppose, the prices may be less because buyers know that at that point it will be impossible to receive it in time for Xmas. You won't be able to get it less than $250, but there's a chance you might get one for under $300. I know this is more than retail, but for all of the aggravation & stress many of us have endured, it may be worth it. Just an idea.

Oh & by the way, Happy Holidays to everyone out there. It's obvious from this thread that there are plenty of very lucky youngsters out there who have some really great, caring parents. Even if you're not able to get a Wii before Monday, the fact that so many of you have gone to great lengths in the attempt to acquire one should all make you feel pretty darn good about yourselves. :)

Great minds think alike :thumbsup2 I am watching 6 auctions that end on Saturday and Friday. All sellers have agreed to pick up and one even offerred 5% discount for cash. So that combined or the 20.00 paypal rebate, I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can get one just above retail. Wish me luck :teeth:

Best of luck to you! We are heading out to see if TRU is getting a shipment here. The cloest TRU to us is over 35 miles away. I have so much to do to get reay for Christmas that I cannot believe that I am going on this wild goose chase. Luck to all!

I hope you all find it. I'll be thinking of the disboard "families" whos moms and dads are trying so hard to get the perfect Christmas gift.

My mom learned that I stayed overnight at Best Buy to get it for my boys, and she flat out told me, that she would of NEVER done that for me!

Matt, that is a SUPER idea...I will have to check some out today!!

I waited outside EBGames in my town on Sunday Morning. I got there at 4am and was 3rd in line. I called the night before and verified that they had 6 come in. They opened at 10 and let one person in at a time. There was about 30 people in line. They required ID and wrote down your address to make sure there was only one per household sold that day. I got home with it shortly after 10 my wife quickly took it from me and wrapped it. I am not allowed to play it until Christmas.

wow, one per household!

I think that's great. In line at bestbuy in front of me on Sunday, there were three groups.. living in three houses (one mom and dad, a set of college kids, and a husband and wife).. I have to say, I got the 11th system that day, because they were buying so many to sell.. I think in that group, only two before me, were for personal use.

I felt bad for all of the families behind me, that just wanted one for their kids.

Mine is already wrapped up for the kids too. I can't wait until Christmas morning, when I can play it.

Well I just had to run a bunch of Toys for Tots items that we needed to get in before the deadline, so I ran to Walmart...they don't expect anymore before Christmas...stopped at GameStop...the kid said that they are expecting some before Christmas, but couldn't tell me when or how many...of course the UPS man gets there at 11:30...right when I HAVE to be in a meeting!!

So I went on eBay...looked for sellers in the area...we will see how it works out...I found one that would let me pick it up, but still would charge $15 for that...better then the $50 for shipping.

WISH ME LUCK! Nothing like being down to the wire!
