any way to heat the water in my pool over the next week?

I don't have a pool, but I use a solar pool cover in my greenhouse, and it works great! It's basically a very thick bubble wrap. It was expensive to cover the inside walls and roof of a large greenhouse, but I know I recouped my money the first winter on what it saved heating the greenhouse. It really held the heat inside and lowered my heating costs. I love it!

I would think it would work even better on a pool. You could probably get an extra month or longer added to your swimming season by using one. Call the manufacturer and ask them about it.

We have the solar pad thingees.....the float. I don't think they work.
We left them all for a lot of the winter and the water is just as cold as it was before we got them.
And the trap the dirt and leaves for the filter doesn't work as well. I took them out.
Our pool will be too cold for another month at least....and then the outside temps will be HOT!
I am going to look into solar panels before next winter.

I purchased a small 8w. submersible pump (€10) + 2 x 50m 12mm black garden piping (€15) & wound it like a catherine wheel on 2 x 1.2m X 1.2m Sterling board (€18) total cost =€45 inc connectors
Leaving it in the sun (9am -6pm, April in Spain) it exchanges half a cubic metre of cold water to warmish water per day.
Two & a half weeks later the pool was significantly warmer & was much more comfortable to swim in. Total cost less than €50
Will use in autumn to prolong swimming dates as well.

I think if you are having some kids over for a pool party that water could be close to freezing and they wouldn’t notice it!

At first I was wondering why the pool water wouldn’t be warm in September then I noticed March 2011 as the date of the OP 😂

the day before the kids go in, have all your husbands friends over to drink lots of beer, and then have them hang out in the pool. voila, instant warm water. hope that helps.

Omg I’m cracking up that this thread has been revived! I haven’t been on the Disboards in YEARS. Yes, we did finally get a heater for the pool, and yes my DD was 12 when I posted this, she is now a gorgeous, intelligent UCF student with an annual pass to WDW. Also, my husband and I divorced after 21+ years of marriage. I’m back on the DisBoards because I’m planning a trip with my boyfriend and his grandkids.... they’ve never been to Disney! We will be there Sept 9-11. We are staying at Boulder Ridge and doing MNSSHP, dining at Citricos one night, breakfast at Chef Mickey’s on our last day. I’m so excited!
So thanks for making me smile.... I’ll be on these boards a bit more often now!
