Any Space 220 reviews?? Is it worth the money??

To be clear DIS YouTube is NOT a review. Its simply a media event overview. They do not do actual reviews when they don't pay (Pete's rule). She does go in depth though to various aspects.

I will say the dining area itself looks lacking (from videos) and over priced for lunch or diner. Its basically a different form of dining entertainment with no characters and no actual show.

For the money you can go to:
Dining Shows - Hoop Dee Doo, Biergarten, Spirit of Aloha
Character Dining - Chef Mickeys, Topolinos, Tusker House, Garden Grill, CRT

I haven't been paying too close of attention prior to this but honestly a little disappointed they didn't make it a touch more intimate since its just all view screens anyways. There is no reason to have people essentially 5 tables deep away from the view screens if you are in the big half circle booths at the back (front???) of the restaurant.

Additionally I am not sure why they jammed a bar in the same space instead of putting the bar in a skyline sort of location from DCL ships where you have the screens behind the bar.

Maybe I will get there at some point but likely just the lounge for a drink if its allowed.
The original poster asked for reviews of Space 220. I believe that means you need to actually go there before giving a negative review, IMO. Perhaps I am wrong and you have dined there.

Video comes across like a paid advertisement courtesy of Disney regardless of whether you call it a media event or a review. Way too expensive for either lunch or dinner ($55 and $79). The elevator to nowhere reminds me of when they first opened the Living Seas and you took something similar. Even if you order some of the individual items making it cheaper, still not anyplace we would choose to eat.

Spirit of Aloha is not reopening, but not sure if that will be permanent.

At any rate it's possible I'd rather have lunch in space than a character meal or dinner show. I'll know after I try the bar.

I stumbled across this one - I forwarded to the food because I really just wanted to see the presentation and if it was any good

2 people who ate for free who hated the salmon, although one was more vague and tactful about it.

I'm wondering if it's oversmoking or if the cut of the salmon is just too small and thin (since I've bought fresh salmon filets much thicker for my home cooking). The thinner the salmon, the less smoking it needs to reach the center, so it's at a bigger danger of "tasting like a cigarette" as that blogger so vividly mentioned...

Watching a couple of the videos the food quality seems pretty good - hopefully they continue to keep up quality control. We know it’s procedure to go above and beyond early on to garner a ton of positive reviews and videos.

Personally I find this experience to be a better value then character buffets which I think border on extortion. It’s all relative because ALL Disney restaurants are really overpriced.

I'm hoping we here some dinner reviews with photos. Most reviews I've seen are lunch. I could only get a dinner ADR .

And Kristen of "Streaming the Magic" said it was probably the best salmon she has ever had--- Said its smoked with green tea leaves

Darn, I saw a review of the salmon and it looked perfect, but I am not a fan of smoked food.

After people waited in line yesterday for 4 hours, today they made a virtual queue.
They were a day behind on that idea.

Disney Food Blog just posted a full review. Looks like they did the media preview and also went as regular guests. They seemed to have a pretty unbiased report. Looks like they really liked the cauliflower app, the steak, the tuna entree, and a lot of the sides but dislike/very meh about the grain salad, the chicken, the burger, and the pasta dish. They also said the lobster add on didn't really seem worth it. Overall it looks like they think the food and atmosphere was good, while also thinking that it still is really pricy and the food isn't that unique or adventurous, especially compared to the rest of Epcot. But I'm really summarizing, they got very descriptive and have lots of photos in the article.

The reviews look great. I'm going for the bar, although no idea how long a wait will be involved.

I was impressed how big the lounge/bar area was - defined by a "wall" and the tables are a different color. I asked someone who was there if they were told hold you got into the lounge, do you need an ADR. They were told it would be first come first serve ... so guess you check in downstairs and get waitlisted. Of course the whole structure there could change over time.

My goal is in the spring with both my sons to try to get in to the lounge, have a few drinks and nibbles.

Definitely check out the Dis Dining Video with Deni and the media event. This is what she ordered and she shows you how it comes in a dome of smoke.

MR Morrow did a dinner review and said it was the best steak on property and he is a big steak aficionado.
I’ll start by saying that I love his YouTube channel! But I don’t think I’ve ever seen him be negative about Disney sit down meals in general. He’s always positive which is one of the things I love about his channel…. but I always wonder about the food reviews because of it :rotfl2:

Seems like a stupid little clothes pin - couldn't they come up with anything a little more creative - are there clothespins in space?

I'll be in the lounge next week. staying over at BC so that's the time to do it. I hope they use the virtual queue for it.
