ImarriedGrumpy- Thanks so much!! I needed a little pick-me-up.

I'm just feeling cranky and hormonal.

You are totally allowed to be cranky and hormonal...you're pregnant! This is the best excuse ever to be cranky and hormonal - it beats out PMS - so be boldly cranky and hormonal and make the most of it! :teeth:

I woke up a couple hours ago to sharp pains. I have pretty bad cramping at the moment. I took a pregnancy test and there is only a very very very faint line now (even the digitals will show you a line after ejecting the stick).

I don't think this is going to stick

So the good news is that I can get pregnant and it looks like I should be able to ride Expedition Everest without any worry.

The bad news is that this was not our time.

I will be calling the doctor, but with the line much more faint than it was and some of my other physical symptoms are gone now, I just don't see this one keeping.

I know I am ignoring a bunch of you, but I just had to say this.

Carla, I really am hoping yours sticks!!!!! As I was cramping, one of the first things I was thinking was that I hope this won't happen to you!

I did and it told me bfn. Then I took another one 3 days after I was supposed to get AF and got a BFP. They are not very accurate until the atleast the day you actually miss AF (it's even listed on the paper)

This is good to know!! I feel like I am getting more and more symptoms - but tested yesterday (10 DPO) and this morning (11 DPO) and both were BFN. I had just figured I was imagining the symptoms - or they were just symptoms of AF. So, I guess I can still hope for a few more days. Maybe I should go out and buy another type of test. What do you all recommend? Clearblue Easy? Let me know what you have had success with!! :listen:

Elaine - don't give up hope. Ya never know....sending good baby vibes your way. :goodvibes :goodvibes

If Diana was a boy it was going to be Domenic John Kevin loved the name because he had a football player with the name and they called him DJ. Flash forward 10 years and we are at a family weeding but who is there is DJ who is my second cousin. Kevin's father hated the name sounded too Italian but what the hell do you think I am. So now if it is a boy Kevin wants Robert and I hate the name hopefully it is a girl. Judith Bernadette

Called the doctor's office and my doctor isn't in yet. I did talk to the nurse and she is going to suggest a blood test to my doc as soon as she does get in. She was very sweet though and was trying to give me hope. So I will wait for the call back when the doctor gets in and we'll see. It just does not feel hopeful for me though. The spotting is only brown at the moment so that gives the nurse some hope.

I didn't get a positive until about 13-14 dpo. I didn't bother to test before then, because after a year and a half, I figured the odds were against me :)

Honestly, I just used a Rite-Aid cheap test. I don't think I've ever bought the expensive kind.

BTW - where in NH are you from?

Hi Jen!

I think I will start to use the cheap tests....it is becoming expensive each month!! I am from Hampstead, NH but DH and I are buying a house in Londonderry, NH. We close on Oct. 27th!! :woohoo:

Congratulations on the house! Prepare for some serious writer's cramp when you close :)

Elaine - I am praying this little one sticks for you. I had intense cramping, as well. I think every pg starts out that way, all the stretching and all the new stuff going on. Did you say you had a faint line on a digital? As far as I know, you are not supposed to read the lines on the digital ones (those are the ones that say "Pregnant/Not Pregnant", right?). Because they have no bearing on the results.

I hope your dr. calls you back ASAP and has you come in for a beta/progesterone.

I had spotting with this pregnancy, too. And with my son. It's terrifying. But it doesn't mean it's the end. Please keep us updated...we are all thinknig of you!

Becky - awww, I am sorry that the other ladies made you second guess your choice of names. I think it is very sweet. It's not common but not strange at all. If you and DH love it, then don't worry what others think (hard to do, I know). But once your sweet little girl is here, no one will say another word. When they hear the name, they won't say "What?". They will only think of your daughters beautiful face! My son has a pretty common name (Lucas), and we got comments. "Lucas mucas" "Lucas pukas", etc. Frustrating, but we love the name. And it fits him. This baby will have an older name (Josephine or Charles), and I know we will get comments. Oh well!

Hi everyone else!

Sorry those I skipped. Limited time...

Carla - hope things are going well...

:grouphug: Thanks, you guys for all of your words of encouragement. This is the first time that AF coming REALLY hit me hard. But I am feeling better today. I went home from work early yesterday, and just took it easy. When DP got home, we just talked about it for a little while, and now I'm feeling better.

Now here's our story:

Jen and I have been together for a little over 8 years now. She's 29, and I'm 33. We decided about 2 years ago that a baby would make our little family perfect. So after discussing the options and getting all of the pre-conception tests/vaccinations, we started trying at home in August of last year. Then after a couple of tries at home, we decided to try IUI. And we've been trying that way ever since.
I temped and charted for a while, and it helped, but my cycles are VERY regular, almost to the minute, and the only thing temping really ever did for me was to tell me that I had or had not ovulated. So mainly I just use the LH test every month and then hope to time it right in that "window" between positive LH and ovulation. And obviously we have not gotten it right yet. (Or there's somthing going on hormonally that just isn't quite right.) But our NP assures us every time that my cervix and mucus look perfect.

Soooo...is there maybe such thing as a progesterone booster? I almost think that maybe that is the problem. Just not enough progesterone to make it happen. Because everything else seems to be falling right into place. :confused3

Anyway, I'll be making an appt with my NP between now and the next try to see if there's more we can do. I put a call in to her this morning.

Again, thanks for the welcome, and sorry this was so long!

Good luck to everyone! :wizard:

Elaine...I am praying for you right now...I hope things are okay and I admire your bravery and courage if this just isn't the one that is meant to be. We are all here for you. Think positively and stay optimistic for now -- as my mom always says - there is no need to borrow troubles! I hope you are okay. We are all thinking about you and sending our love.

Hugs to everyone else...

Kelly, congratulations on the house!!! How exciting!

I did go in for blood work this morning. Results should be given to me around 3:30 or so. I've had (what I feel) is pretty heavy spotting (would be a light period) and so far all brown. But the cramps, they really do feel like AF is about to come. That's why I am most worried. But They did draw my blood and will do it again if need be tomorrow or Thursday.

Minnesota, the digital readout I had was for the first three tests I took :teeth: I saw the positive and then I see the lines as soon as I ejected them. I got a different test this time (not digital) and the line I saw on that one was super faint.

So thank you all for the encouragement. I'd honestly rather not get my hopes up just to have them dashed again. I'm just not doing well with emotional roller coasters lately ;)

Christal, I do hope that your NP can help you out more with trying to conceive via IUI. I can't imagine how hard it would be to go through all that. I do have a good friend who has gotten pregnant via artificial insemination (single mom who wanted more kids). I can see what she did to get pregnant if you like. She has a gorgeous son now that is two years old. I just hope something good works out for you :)

Minnesota! My grandmother and grandfather were Josephine and Charles. My kids will have one name or the other as a middle name, I think. :goodvibes

Kelly, I live sort of near Londonderry. :) I'm at Exit 7 on 93, so a few exits up from there. I used the EPT Early Result at 10DPO and got a line so faint I had to call DH in to convince me I wasn't a nut creating the line in my own mind.

Elaine, have you heard from the doctor yet? I had brown spotting from 10DPO until yesterday at 13DPO, so it could be OK. :grouphug:

Christal, they should test you at 7 days after you ovulate to make sure your progesterone is at a good level. There are different types of supplements. I use prometrium suppositories 3x per day. Not fun, but they serve their purpose. ;)

Becky, don't listen to them over there. I'm not a member, but my good friend is really active over there and she'll e-mail me some of the threads that get nasty. They usually pick on her because she's a breastfeeding nazi. :confused3

I have to wait for my beta. The stupid office is closed except for emergencies. My need for an appointment isn't an "emergency", so I didn't page her. They told me they'd be open today. They weren't. Now I have to call tomorrow, the day I was supposed to get the test! They'd better be able to see me on Thursday. I know it's not a huge deal, but the wait is killing me. I want to make sure my progesterone is OK. I want to know the number. The spotting stopped, so I feel a bit better, but the thought of going one more day without knowing. :guilty:

Carla- thanks! I'll ask my NP about that!

Elaine- thanks for the encouragement, and as for you...they don't call this whole baby-making proccess a "miracle" for nothing! You just never know what might happen. But I do know the feeling of not wanting to get overly optimistic, the fear of being disappointed again...but keep your chin up!

I'm hoping for pixie dust and happiness for all of us! :wizard:

-Christal

Edited to change to REAL names...sorry lol

I'm so sorry for any of you that may be suffering from m/c. :grouphug: I went through it once, and it's tough. But at least you know that you can conceive. That's the hope.

I'm due the 7th for AF. I'm obsessed with pregnancy tests! I don't know what my problem is. I just stocked up at the dollar store. I'm not even due for 4 days, and I've already taken a few. With BFN on all! I'm not very hopeful, but we've only been trying for 3 months. Although it's frustrating, I know it has to happen in God's time, and not mine.

:goodvibes baby vibes to all :goodvibes

Elaine - thanks for the well-wishes for our house! Yes, we are very excited! You know what they say...new house, new baby, right???

Ally - ah yes...exit 9. Our new house is off exit 5 - actually close to the Manchester airport.

fanofdisney - I am due on the 7th as well. My cycles have been long lately (like 33 days!). And yes, I have done 2 tests already and both have been BFN. I keep hoping that I will get a BFP....my husband says we are going to be broke b/c of all the tests I keep buying!!

So I have a question regarding monitoring your temps - I have never done this before! I just started taking them over the last few days. What does it mean if your temp goes down? or up? Which way should I be routing for??

Elaine - I truly don't want to give you false hope. Just letting you know that AF type cramps are SOOOO common in early pregnancy. Hell, I have them today and I am almost in my 2nd trimester! And, most dr's will tell you that brown, even light pink, spotting is "normal". Red is where the concern lays. I hope your beta comes back good! Keep us updated!!! If nothing else, lay down with your feet up and rest. I know you stay at home, so indulge in some rest time :)

Carla - UGH! I am sorry your office was closed! What is your LP usually during your cycles? Have you tested anymore? Can you get one at a hospital? Have your RE fax a script to a local hospital and get one done?

Congrats on the new house, Kelly! That's always fun :)

Hi all--

Elaine -- any news yet? We are here for you when you need us.

Carla -- sorry you have to wait for Thursday now...maybe they can fit you in tomorrow though.

Kelly - congrats on house!

Christal - sorry for the stress you are going through - good luck with NP!

Everyone else -- hope you are all well...

Well - I am further along in the egg donor process now -- just talked to the clinic and my donor has her medical appt on October 26th (wish it could have been earlier but they said that was the earliest the donor could do) and after her appt she can start taking the birth control pills and stuff to synch up our cycles...

My appt in November 9th and after my appt I too will start taking the pills!! THen it is about 6-9 weeks after my 11/9 appt until retrieval --- yeah!!! I am getting excited now.

I hope this works and she produced alot of eggs. She has never been a donor before - she is 31 years old but she has a 1 year old and a 2 year old so the clinic thinks she should be fairly fertile!

I just want to get those eggs out of her and into me so we can move on the next phase of this journey -- sticky embryos!!!

The waiting is killing me!!

November 9th is like 5 weeks away - but at least we have appts now.

Hugs to all!!

~Nicole
